Popped in for a coffee, partook in a lovely slice of strawberry tart. Staff were lovely and helpful. Pleasant visit.

Lovely idea having Zumbinis taster in store today. My little girl loved it and was a great respite for her from shopping!

I had booked a session for a style profile with Jenny. I'd never gone this type of thing before so came in with trepidation! Straight away Jenny put me a ease, she explained the principles and showed me which colours suited me, asked what my life style was, etc. I did not see the 2 hours fly by! I came away with a new spring/summer wardrobe! Thank you Jenny! The bonus? There was 25% off most of the items purchased! All good!

Have just bought school shoes for my two boys in Solihull and wanted to thank Charlotte in the kids shoe department.. She was really helpful and went out of her way to look for alternatives when they weren’t comfortable and according to the boys was also “very funny” And I managed to get one of the pairs in the sale too. Thank you.

Excellent service today. Amazon 7 tablet bought in November 2016 had stopped working. Took it to technical team in store who did couple of checks to establish fault, unable to rectify so replaced with latest model - no quibbles.

Love John Lewis but they need to sort out the cafe which we visit for breakfast when we go. Loads of staff but not ready to go (baguettes will be ready in 5 minutes) service not quick and not a good experience. Disappointed every time but we still keep going!

We got to John Lewis at about 10.50. Not Realising I picked some shoes that I wished to try on. I approached two members of staff who where stood chatting. The look we got said it all we don't serve till 11 we were informed. So I sat and waited, then dead on 11 I re approached the assistant who said it wasn't 11 yet. Then promptly walked off to leave us standing there like fools. If I didn't like the shoes so much I would off not bothered to buy them. It really annoyed me. The service you get at selfridges is very good. Maybe your staff should pay it a visit.

The makes lady on the Lancôme counter was lovely and couldn't do enough to help me.

The store should be embarrassed by its TV department this afternoon. 3 sales people talking to each other loudly for over 5 minutes. 1 other serving a customer. I came in to buy. Eventually asked if I was ok after standing next to them. After saying I was looking for I was told of 2 out of the 3 they have (I had found them in my 3 tours of the TVs} and she turned away. I left the department annoyed. I expect better from John Lewis. In contrast I went upstairs and was greeted by 2 staff members as I walked by.

Went in to but a Quilt as I did a few weeks ago . And still not got a king size Soft Touch 4.5+9 was told I could order on line . That’s why so many stores are struggling. As people are ordering on line .

We went to John Lewis for breakfast before visiting the Apple Store & doing some holiday shopping. The food was a real let down compared to previous experiences. My son had a sausage baguette, which he took the sausages off as the bread was hard. I ordered poached eggs, which I had to wait a while for but when they arrived they were very hard and cold. I took them back and explained the problem, so they said they would do some more. The next ones that came were exactly the same, but this time the toast was burnt too. I couldn't be bothered to complain again as we had an appointment in the Apple Store and were already running late. So I ended up with no breakfast and had to pay for the pleasure. We won't be rushing back there for breakfast, but I must admit, their cakes did look tasty.

Think before you spend any money at John Lewis....

12/5/2018

Order placed for a fridge freezer, value £999. Item showing as in stock.

12/5/2018

Automated confirmation email. Delivery will be within 7 days from our approved supplier.

15/5/2018

Email with the guarantee effective from 19/5! Item still not here on 22/6. How much stress will I have trying to get the guarantee date amended?

7 days go by from the order date, nobody contacts me. So I chase them.

6 weeks later still no fridge freezer.

39 emails and counting.

Countless, pointless phone calls from John Lewis, not one fixing the situation, just wasting time.

Asked for an escalation away from the social media team, who’s role seems to be to keep you quiet on social media.

Finally sent a link to chose a delivery date. 15/6 and got a confirmation.

Then the day before got another text confirming 15/6 but also showing a date on 18/6. A date I had not chosen.

I raised this with John Lewis and they just pushed ahead with the 18th even though I told them there would be nobody there. Eventually I told them I would start treating them as they treat me. Told them they could deliver on the date they had chosen but between 6pm and 8pm. They did turn up on the 18th but they missed their own delivery slot by 2 hours and were 2.5 hours early for my chosen time. So a failed delivery.

Escalated to a someone without a job title but works in Customer Service Distribution.

This escalation was of no benefit.

Based on other customer feedback posts I raised my concerns that even when the delivery was agreed there may be other problems.

Finally another date agreed 22/6. Time agreed 9:45 to 11:45. Delivery company phone at 7:53 to say they will be there in an hour. My wife takes the kids to school and had to change some of her plans and rush for the delivery.

You know what happens next? Yes, item arrives badly damaged and the delivery firm insist we sign to say it was damaged. We refused.

Phoned the John Lewis employee with no title and they pretty much suggested we go through the process al over again. I told them the delivery must now be 26/6 at my chosen time. During. The conversation I told them I was recording the call. They told me I wasn’t allowed to do this without informing them. This is incorrect, perhaps a training issue. They hung up.

He then emails me to confirm all future correspondence must be in writing.

I email the M.D. and Chairman, they do not reply but pass my email back to the same guys with no title,

The manufacturer are now looking in to it. So back to the beginning, again. As John Lewis do not hold stock. Their website says they have 7 in stock!

This highlights a company with culture, process, IT and supplier management issues.

So what choice do I have?

I can’t escalate beyond this guy and the senior management to not speak to customers.

John Lewis do not do compensation they do “goodwill gestures”. How much would you think was an acceptable amount for all the time waisted and stress?

Security. at John Lewis Solihull. Should not tar all teenagers with the same brush. Disgraceful attitude today. Group of teenagers I no going to purchase few items. Was asked to move on. Definitely won’t be shopping there again. Neither will I.

Professes ethical, family values. Advertises in hate filled and divisive daily mail. John Lewis thinks it is anti free speech to protest that a company professing such values should be questioned on their choice of corporate partner and where they spend the money we give them as customers. It is exactly the opposite. Daily mail spreads hate, I won't buy it. John Lewis funds the daily mail so I won't spend money there until they open their eyes to the damage that their advertising funds.

On buying a pair of curtains we asked staff if they could look in the stock too for the size we needed as there were none on the shelf. The lady member of staff gave us a huff and said she needed to check the shelves and then just rudely reiterated to us that there were none in the shelves but could check the stock if we really wanted her to (which is why we had called her over). She looked very put out by the request, told us this will

Take a few minutes though. She came back with a pair in an opened dusty packet and stated it was open but she thinks it just opened as she pulled it off the shelves. It obviously had been pre opened other than this but she stated that's all they had in this size and we could return easily if they turned out to be a faulty returned pair.

We got them home and sure enough they were slightly frayed in several places. I really did not have energy to manoeuvre my 9 month pregnant self and heavy curtains back to the shop and so I was willing to keep them for a discount and emailed John Lewis store to request this and sent in pictures and photos of receipt as requested by them in return email.

Finally we had a a phone call from a very abrupt and rude lady stating pictures were not good enough and we needed to bring the curtains in for official assessment if we wanted to be assessed for a discount. Needless to say we were not grateful of the order to return to store or the very poor and continuously rude customer service from this particular store's staff. We decided to just return the curtains this morning and gain our refund of £130. On returning, even the staff at the counter were abrupt about my husband going to the wrong desk. Thankful to get our refund and will not be shopping at this store again. Found a much nicer and better quality pair of curtains at Dunelm for slightly more money but worth paying the extra for better quality curtains and Customer service. Awful store.

Nothing but problems with my my I candy pram that was just under £1000!!!!

Not our usual shopping experience at JL Solihull. Having just purchased a television from an indifferent Partner - who also happened to be chewing gum ( really?) we decided to lift the mood by going for lunch in the restaurant. Despite it being lunchtime there appeared to be a lack of Partners to serve the hot food. By the time our food had been put on the plate, then the teas and coffees were made, and payment taken - all done by the same Partner - our food had gone lukewarm. To make matters worse so many tables hadn't been cleared that we walked round for a few minutes to find somewhere clean to sit. Very disappointing.

John Lewis in Solihull just doesn't seem to accept any customer feedback or stand by their promises to make change. My son is coeliac, and as with lots of people choosing to exclude gluten from their diet, it's not hard to offer a choice in the restaurant. John Lewis don't. Come on John Lewis get with the times, gluten free sausages at least are an EASY solution! Keep a load of gluten free bread in the freezer even!

Secondly, why oh why is there not a baby changing facility in the toilets located next to the restaurant?!! After complaining about this last year I was reassured it would be changed. It's incredibly easy to put a wall changer in the loo. When you're sitting down to lunch and then your child needs changing it is quite inconvenient to have to pack everything up and venture to the other side of the store. On return your food is by then cold or cleared away as it had been last time.

Come on John Lewis Solihull make some changes.
