When I had a big stint in U.K. I was away from family and friends for some time. Once the holiday mode had faded and I was into a monotonous routine of eating, training, sleeping and then repeat. It gives you a great time to reflect.

This will sound really cheesy, but I kind of found myself here in UK. I had to grow up very quickly and pondered a lot of things in my free time.

One of the things that I realised and some may find strange is that through out my training, the smallest thing that I have gained is the actual art of Muay Thai.

I’ll explain…

Without realising at the time, Vijay Masih, my trainer, did a lot of exercises with all his fighters while they were preparing to fight. These exercises allowed us to understand fear, why you get nervous, to set yourself a goal, how to achieve it, how to deal with set backs; the list goes on.

Now of course all these are used in the fight game, but all of these are really life skills too. Everything mentioned can be used in other areas of your day-to-day life.

The skills you gain in understanding fear can be used for many things like your first job interview, driving test or even your first day at a new school.

Goal setting can be used for all manner of things. From your career to savings to even losing weight, any ambition, setting your own goals will help you achieve beyond whatever you initially imagined

Trained here for 5 years had to leave for university great instructors, great training and a great gym.

User

The best in England

Since joining the gym it has given me the confidence to push my self and not to be bullied. The staff are great and friendly and the you can make such great friends my fitness levels have gone up and I feel mentally fitter as well as physically.

User

Number 1 in UK!!! Great job by Steve, Al Diablo and rest of staff!!! Can't wait for every single training! I would love to have bed there and move in :D

User

My home away from home haha trained here for a while and it is the best gym with friendly staff and friendly trainers!

User

Much more friendly and inclusive than other gyms I've trained at, but no messing about or compromise in standards. You get out what you put in but everything you need is right there and the instructors are fantastic.

I've been going to K star Combat Arena for just over a year now, and I'm surprised I haven't left a review already.

Before I joined I was quite nervous about what it would be like and if I'd be able to keep up, but any nerves or fears were gone before the first lesson even finished. Everybody at the gym from the instructors to the members have always been friendly and really helpful. The equipment is top notch too.

K-star isn't just a place to learn Muay Thai, it's become almost like a second home. I look forwards to going in every day I can, and whenever I can't because of work it's always a disappointment. It's a place where you can be yourself and just have fun.

If anybody is nervous, or curious about giving it a go I highly recommend at least trying the beginners course for a month to see if it is right for you.

User

I really do love all things K-Star. Even though myself and all my children go to K-Star Legacy, I did go to K-Star Combat Arena a few weeks back for a recent inter-club. I was really impressed with the gym and all the equipment there but then that's what you get when you join K-Star, great equipment and even better Teaching. So if you wanna be taught by the best for yourself or your children, I'd choose K-Star all day long

I have been training at K-Star City Centre since July 2016 and in the short time I have been there I have got fitter, stronger and more confident in myself.

Seeing my beer gut shed away and my body change over time has been amazing, learning Muay Thai has been a very fun experience so far (long may it continue!)

Most of all, the Instructors and other members are helpful and passionate about what they do. No matter what questions I have they are always happy to help and the advice is very much appreciated!
