I am a Qualified Muslim Counsellor based in Birmingham. I provide counselling for individuals who require emotional support through a talking therapy.

I am an Accredited Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and adhere to BACP's ethical guidelines for best practise.

The purpose in my counselling work is to create a therapeutic working alliance that provides an emphatic, open, honest and non-judgmental environment. The combination of these coherent elements enable the client to explore their feelings and emotions in a safe and confidential environment.

The goals and objectives of the counselling I provide is to gain assistance and exploration through a talking therapy by increasing one's self-awareness. This will facilitate the client in helping one to help oneself in a difficult situation. This will aid the client to reach their greatest potential by fulfilling one's aspiration in becoming a better example of oneself.

I apply an integrative theoretical approach in my counselling work, encompassing an amalgamation of the theoretical background and skills of the main counselling modalities; Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural therapy.

In addition, I can provide an Islamic Counselling approach; the theoretical approaches are applied to suit the best needs of the client. The Islamic approach in counselling is derived from the Qur'an and Sunnah - exploring one's individual journey of existence and their relationship with The Creator. Islamic Counselling encompasses not only the physical, psychological and social but also the often disregard to the spiritual element of an individual.

I have experience in working in general practice, charity organisation's within an Islamic, Asian and Intercultural setting. Therefore, I have the experience, knowledge and background of culturally sensitive issues which may often arise in the therapeutic setting.
