Congratulations to all competitors who attended today's Kwon Grand Slam.
There is no skirting over the many things that went wrong today and we would like to sincerely thank the several hundred people who persevered through the room swapping, the cold weather, and the brief few minutes all six areas and people were crammed into one sports hall... participants, spectators, and staff gave everything they had today to keep the Kwon Grand Slam series going and we are very gratef...ul to our supporters.
Series 2 on March 17th will be held at a warmer, more suitable venue. We will be ensuring those of you inconvenienced at series 1 today will receive a discount code for use at a future event (this will take a couple of weeks to arrange but you will receive an email to your registered address).
Today's hiccups were unusual and mainly due to a recent change of venue during winter months. We were not aware of how difficult Dudley's dome is to heat, indeed heating was provided by us today but could not be used due to insufficient electrical supply at the leisure centre. This event has highlighted that there are ways we could improve our planning processes and we will be working hard over the coming weeks to secure a new venue and make changes for the better.
Event management would like to make sure that a formal apology reaches you all. We would like to offer reassurance that this was an isolated incident and we will be taking all the necessary steps to prevent reoccurance.
