Lady Margaret'S Park Club Site Description

Lady Margaret's Park Caravan Club Site boasts a range of pitches that are located in intimate tree-shaded glades and in open grassed areas. A pretty wooded parkland caravan site, the area is adjacent to the grounds of Chirk Castle in the heart of Marcher country. The castle remains the last Edward I Welsh castle still lived in today and features the award-winning gardens with thatched 'Hawk House', shrub garden, lime tree avenue and yew topiary. There are plenty of walks to enjoy in the local area and also a lovely dog walk from the site.

We’ve been here a number of times now, winter and summer and always enjoy the quietness of this site, well spaced out bays, good scenery, wildlife and a friendly welcome always.

It’s a good walk along the canal and some good pubs along the way to break the walk!

One of the better sites we go to on our travels 👍🏻

User

We stayed at lady Margarets caravan club site for the first time over the easter weekend we found the facilities superb the showers and toilets were spotless the wardens were very friendly and too top it off the castle which is only a short walk away was a great day out just would like to say thank you and we will see you in the near future Steven and vicky

User

We have visited lady Margarets every year since 2007 when we started caravanning have pitched on most areas of the site .Have never had occasion to complain about the facilities. We are here now and have decided to use it as our base great site lovely showers and brill dog walk and most of all peace and quiet and nice wardens who do a great job .

User

Really enjoy staying here, the park description tells you everything you need to know before you book. Do your research and you won’t be disappointed sunny pitches and shaded pitches. Grass or gravel. Close to town to enjoy a meal out or a drink. The train station is not too far to walk to to get further afield.

User

Our third stay on this site, friendly helpful and happy staff, clean and tidy. Close to Chester Llangollen and Wrexham. Chirk is a lovely little village with everything that you would need. Children will love it as there’s rabbits 🐇 squirrels and bird everywhere, watch out for rabbit hole,

User

My 1st visit to this club site will definitely come again so much to do in area had a great pitch quite close to get water good site facilities we had dogs was ideal has good walks coming directly off the site great grass areas around pitches only downside is i think there should be better signage in chirk for caravan club as i missed the turning and got a bit lost but overall great club site

User

Lovely site. Clean and very quiet.

Ideally situated as well for the canal, Chirk Castle and the town.

User

Just home from a lovely weekend , our first time here and won’t be our last , dog friendly , lovely clean site and very scenic , really enjoyed our weekend x

User

I rate this as one of the top 3 sites on the network but the site is very tired.

The facilities are now so run down I'd rate as 4/10. Showers are pathetic with very little in the way of power, wardens and Caravan Club informed with no response.

Childrens play area has been condemned for the last six months with no sign of repair.

We pay top money to stay on these sites as the Caravan Club keep telling us they're the best there is out there being second to none.

Simply not good enough, other sites are being revamped on a regular basis but for as long as I can remember Lady Margarets Park hasn't been touched.

We use this site on a regular basis over the year but will be looking elsewhere sadly unless these standards aren't put back to where they should be.

The wardens work tirelessly but are falling short delivering a top notch site I know it can be.

So come on Caravan Club get your act together and sort it out please?

User

First time as Caravan Club members and in our New Caravan.

Superb shower and toilet block. Lovely and clean and warm which is needed this time of the year.

Beautiful walks and the Castle a stone throw away.

Will definitely be back. 👍

User

Amazing stay just gutted it was only for one night. Tried to book for a weekend in two weeks but full. We will be back

User

Our first ever stay at St Margarets and our first ever as members of the Caravan club and first time camper van users in our new van Gordon Bingo Bongo. Lovely site great facilities..yes the shower/toilet block was a little out dated but was clean and plenty of hot water. The staff were really helpful and as National Trust members who love Chirk we will definitely be back.

User

Loved the site , it is beautiful , the wardens are lovely , however the shower/ loo block is a let down , no volume from the showers , looks tired all round , there were flies in the ceiling lights and one had the translucent cover missing leaving fluorescent tubes and wiring exposed , shame because the site is lovely .

User

Had a three night stay here this weekend. Last stay here was three years ago and I must agree with the other reviewers the toilet / showers are starting to look tired and the water pressure is up and down. Wardens as usual were very friendly and helpful. Come on, this is a lovely site, please invest some money into it.

User

A very clean and tidy site with helpful and polite staff.

Beautiful site in the trees and lots of cute rabbits to watch.

Only thing is the toilets/showers need updating and no playground for the children.

Apparently another child told my daughter there was a castle playground but it was pulled down? That's a shame for families.

My daughter had a good time on her bike but I think a playground would of helped or something for children to do.

It helped having Chirk castle nearby for a day out.

I would come back with just me and my husband for a peaceful break.

User

We love this site & the wardens are always great but like many others we feel it's time to spend some money on the toilet blocks. The adapted cubicle in the shower block could also do with handles in the changing area as well as in the shower & could do with being a little bit bigger than the standard shower area with a proper bench seat instead of a plastic stool, I have seen this in some of the sites with newer shower blocks & it's much better for drying & getting dressed.

User

Looks like they've cherry picked the good reviews with the name change too. What happened to all the others. Tut tut. Nice site, spoilt by old run down shower block. Although always clean, there is poor water pressure in showers and toilets take ages to refill causing things to be left for the next person. Lovely surroundings with great walks along the canal and into Chirk castle. Kronospan belches out dust all over cars and Caravans if wind is the wrong way. Chirk is very nice with an award winning butchers, Indian, and lots of other shops. Still use this site occasionally but it could be so much better. When I asked the head office of any plans to refurbish they said nothing planned until at least 2018. Come on CC or whatever we're called now. Don't just delete un preferred reviews act on them.

User

Just arrived home from a week long stay at Lady Margarets Park. The site itself is very good but the water pressure in the showers is worse than useless. At one point the water stopped flowing even though the shower was still on. There really needs to be a service point installed on the bottom loop as pulling a full wastemaster up the hill to empty it isn't going to be possible for some people. The site is well kept but as has been said before, needs some investment.

User

Home today from a generally nice stay at Lady Margarets Park. However was somewhat disappointed with the showers which were erratic to say the least. Also its states in the club book that this site has a play area and this is not the case, this was one of the things I looked for when I was booking a site as we have two 9 year olds. And finally the wardens were generally friendly except for one of the male wardens who need some customer service training, as new caravanners we made a mistake and instead of pointing this out in a friendly helpful manner the warden was rude and unfriendly, according to the caravan magazine the club prides itself on its friendly wardens!
