Some of our staff had the opportunity to attend ‘The Autism Show 2018’ for the Landau Forte SEND Team. The collected lots of goodies and discussed strategies and resources with the experts. The day was extremely beneficial for the team.

Our annual Dance show is this Thursday! Tickets are available for Sixth Form Recpetion and are selling out fast. We look forward to seeing you all there.

Leah B and Pheobe A have worked hard during Dance enrichment this week. The students have worked with Miss Carby to choreograph a new lyrical duet and managed to do it in just two hours! The duet will be performed at the Dance show on Thusday 5th July!

Introducing Hunni :)
Hunni is a fully qualified therapy dog and will be visiting the Academy every Wednesday afternoon from 1.45pm - 3.00pm with her owner Karen. Studies have shown that interaction with a therapy dog/pet can have a positive impact on mental health, anxiety, building confidence and can even help some children with their reading skills!

Congratulations to Arthur Mason-Rodgers and Alex Starkey. Both students have passed their Associated Board Royal School of Music Grade 8 exam on their instrument. We are very proud of you both!

Tamworth Sixth Form’s Football Academy attended their annual Awards Event dinner at Pizza Express on Wed 06 June, where they celebrated a successful year’s football and study.

They are now looking forward to a highly eventful 2018/19 and hoping to lift the league trophy.

Water and fruit is avaiable for all students sitting final and progression exams. This is available by Sixth Form reception.

Girls football enrichment is back on with the Burton Albion coaching staff, on Wednesdays during enrichment time 2-3pm. Please continue to attend, meeting outside the changing rooms. New players are welcome to attend. Please get changed during your lunch break. Year 13 leavers are still welcome for the duration of the term.
In addition, the Girls Netball enrichment has also officially started on Wednesdays at the same time with Mrs Ball, meeting at the reception for 2:00 in sportswear to register. We would love to see lots of you there.

To raise money for our Concert Band Tour to Germany we have decide to host a quiz night. Tickets are available from the Sixth Form Reception. We have ran these nights before and they always great fun! You need teams of 6.

Dr Helen Jellicoe visited to talk to Y12 and Y13 about careers in Psychology.
The students considered a range of case studies, and learned about treatment options.
This was an inspiring visit, and there are many budding clinical and forensic Psychologists!
