A member of the public very kindly donated a guidebook and leaflet from the 60s/70s! It’s so interesting to see how information on the castle has developed over the decades! Do you have any vintage memorabilia from the castle? #castleguidebook #castletourism #1960s #1970s #yesteryear #vintage

Wow! What a lovely lady you are. You really made my wedding day - the lovely chat we had before you conducted our hand fasting on Saturday was one of the most lovely experiences I've ever had. You brightened our wedding day and we will be forever thankful (the guests thought you were fabulous as well!). People like you are rare to find - keep shining xxx

Went the fairy tale event yesterday, absolutely loved it, was great to meet The Fairy Godmother, Lesley ☺ Not sure who enjoyed it more, my 6 year old or my 22 year old 💕 Perfect family day out for my birthday.

We had our handfasting at tutbury castle with Lesley performing the handfasting... it truly was the best day of our lives

User

We got married at Tutbury Castle this past weekend, and Lesley performed a hand fasting ceremony for us. She held our guests in the palm of her hand as they were spellbound by her performance and it really added that extra something special to our big day. She was such a warm and caring person along with it and really helped to put us at ease before we walked out for the ceremony. Thank you Lesley for making our day unforgettable for both us and our guests

Saw Lesley tonight at Lichfield Cathedral as Mary, Queen of Scots. Thank you Lesley for your brilliant and most entertaining portrayal of the tragic queen.

My hubby and I have just had a lovely afternoon at Tutbury. We were lucky to be there at the same time as a women's group so we were kindly invited to join them as Sue told us the history of the castle. How knowledgeable she was and her enthusiasm was infectious. Managed to get a glimpse of Nell Gwynne - bet she could tell some tales! Ended the afternoon with a lovely cream tea. Thanks everyone for making us to welcome. Sylvia (Derby Cats Protection)

I was invited to face paint over the weekend and I wanted to let people know about the fantastic feedback I heard. I did ask people to share with the Castle staff and glad to see a lovely review on Trip advisor already. The staff worked really hard, even during the rain, to keep the children entertained.

Whilst we painted faces we were entertained by the Minions and the Princesses who came up to the children. Many of the parents and children had been to Disney world and were so pleased, that, although not on the same scale, the children were just as delighted to see their heroes. Well done to all concerned.

User

I personally love the Castle and Lesley. Always have a great time there. Lesley is always cheerful and chatty. Her history talks are amazing. A great place to visit xx

User

I got married here and you helped me arrange everything - it was just 'perfect' with the most amazing pictures as the sun was setting in the beautiful grounds- Thank you :)

User

Hi Lesley, Jason & myself just wanted to say a big massive thank you for yesterday, to come to Tutbury Castle to renew our vows of 20 years, was magical and we we're honoured to have you do that for us. As soon as we have got photographs we will bring them in. Xxxx

User

Been to the castle today to see Lesley as Nell Gwynne and loved every minute of it. The food was brilliant as always as was the performance. Not only was it informative but it was also very witty as well. Thank you Lesley.

User

Another great day today, loved the pirate skirmish and the crime and punishment, and I can't forget our best friend Jacob. Will be back at the end of the month x

User

Absolutely love Tutbury Castle even in the wind and rain! Lesley's knowledge and passion is fantastic one of the reasons we always come back.

User

A wonderful and eventful night spent at Tutbury Castle and Lesley Smith did an amazing job recreating the history in our minds. You couldn't ask for a nicer person to give you a tour of this magnificent building. You can feel how passionate she is about Tutbury and it is an absolute joy to hear somebody so knowledgeable speaking from the heart. Thank you also to Mike for taking care of us all night. I am really looking forward to our next visit.

User

Went to an X mas do. Food was diabolical, service terrible waiters picking food off floor and serving it, staff on the dance floor. Never did get our coffee and when we complained nothing. Will never recommend them to anyone

User

Myself and a friend recently took part in a ghost hunt and camped in the castle grounds. Various 'Mediums' on site 're-telling murderous tales. A few well placed actors thrown in for good measure. The castle is beautiful, although not very atmospheric. Lesleys enthusiasm and knowledge of the history of the castle is fantastic! She really gets into character! Unfortunately, that's the good news! Upon our vigil in the 'Great Hall', various 'trigger' objects were pointed out to us, one being a bell on a small side table. The bell kept moving intermittently and ringing without being touched! This obviously caused much excitement to the 50+ guests. The excitement soon turned to disappointment when after studying the table for a short time, I found a concealed drawer, housing a battery pack and magnet!! I pointed this out to the host/security, who advised me to keep it quiet. We left Tutbury castle feeling cheated, after being witness to various trickery and poor acting. We would rather have left and seen nothing than be set up like a couple of kippers... What a shame!

Lesley Smith & Tutbury Castle owes me £4500 plus interest but won’t pay up, I already have a High Court Writ and judgement and also sent the Sheriffs in but they still won’t pay up so I’ll just have to keep embarrassing them until they do! And stop telling lies about me as well!!!! Look out for me with my protest banner at the Castles gates on events days!!! See you all soon!!!!
