With Winter fast approaching, so is the Flu season!
Leyes Lane Pharmacy are now taking Flu jab appointments commencing from the end of September. To book your Flu jab please call 01926 859 232, or simply pop into the pharmacy and one of our lovely staff would be happy to help!

If you suffer an allergy and carry an Emerade adrenaline pen, please be aware of a fault which is believed to have affected 2 in every 1,000 pens. This has resulted in the pens not being able to deliver adrenaline, Patients are advised to follow the existing advice to carry two pens at all times.

In 2018 NHS England reported that the Ambulance Service attempted to resuscitate 28,000 people in sudden cardiac arrest. Of these a Restoration of Spontaneous Circulation (ROSC) was achieved in 25% of the cases, however only half of those who had a ROSC survived to leave hospital. In the best performing countries, which benefit from more comprehensive training, those surviving out of hospital cardiac arrest runs at 20-25%.
What makes the difference is immediate CPR.
Kenilwort...h HeartSafe is a group of volunteers, working under the auspices and supervision of Warwickshire Hearts, who provide emergency response in support of West Midlands Ambulance Service to 999 calls in the Warwick District Council area. Since that time Warwickshire Hearts have widened their remit to include a bigger geographical area and also to include the delivery of CPR and AED training in the community.
Kenilworth HeartSafe will be running free basic training sessions, taking just 1 1/2 hours of your time at the Abbey Medical Centre, Station Road, Kenilworth. The sessions will be held at the following times/dates:
Thursday 20 June 12.30pm - 2.00pm Thursday 25 July 6.00pm - 7.30pm Saturday 31 August 10.00am - 11.30am Tuesday 24 September 1.00pm - 2.30pm

On the 5th March, Public Health England & NHS England launched the first ever national cervical screening campaign, targeted at women who are eligible for screening (women aged 25 – 64).
Around 2,600 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer in England each year and around 690 women die from the disease. It is estimated that if everyone attended screening regularly, 83% of cervical cancer cases could be prevented. Currently attendance is at a 20-year low, with one in four wome...n in the UK not attending their cervical screening.
