What a cracking little gem of a 'proper pub'. Loved all the little rooms. Will definitely re-visit next time we are in Shrewsbury.

Visited this pub whilst in Shrewsbury for a couple of days. What a little gem of a place. It's quirky little rooms were so comfortable and the service by the bar staff was excellent and they were so friendly. Visited here on both days and will definitely go back again.

Very dog friendly pub with great staff & even a chew & a bowl of water for Poppy.

The pub is nice and laid back it takes you back to the olden days , where you can hear your self talk , the staff be hind the bar are very polite in the way that they greet you, the people who visit the pub are just chilled out and relaxed as you gaze round the pub, if you like to chill out and relax with a pint, pay the pub a visit.

Proper pub. Can this be our new local even if we're not local? � Real beer and real cheese cobs. And real people having real conversations. (Or surreal �). What a fabulous evening. We'll be back.

One of my three favorite pubs in England. The cask ale selection is small but always excellent. The accoustic entertainment is second to none. And the conversations are brilliant.

I love this quirky town center pub, unspoilt by modernisation, the various rooms to sit, chat, eat, sing or just to soak up the atmosphere of an English pub, excellent ales on tap and friendly bar staff.

Everything a real pub should be.

I love going for a beer or two to this amazing old tavern with lovely staff and customers a place lost in time I would recommend it to anyone to sit and take in the atmosphere of a good experience

Great pub, had a great week in Shrewsbury with the Claylanders, all the locals and the Landlord - Mike - made us feel really welcome. Very traditional and good atmosphere

Great little traditional pub. Beer was of a good standard and the barmaid was a wonderful hostess. Would happily recommend you pop in for a pint.

If you want to sit drink beer and converse with the people with you. Then this is the place to be

I went in as a friend was holding a open acoustic folky music type night and I like live music whether professional or amateur, the music was fun, I had one pint that wasn't good so returned it and was informed its the first one out of the line that day so was poured another, it wasn't great but not terrible, the rest of the beers must have been decent enough as I had a few... its a good pub(not great) the staff were friendly and polite, but have to say it was strange peeing into a stainless steel urinal that had been screwed onto the old porcelain one.
