Longford House Beefater

We came last night 12 of us couldnt fault it never been to this one before,meals were all perfect didnt wait very long for meals,staff were lovely very friendly & helpful will definatley be visiting again

The breakfast was absolutely first class, freshly cooked to order, tasted absolutely delightful! There was such a wide variety of cooked and continental options, endless choice and beautiful fresh hot and cold drinks, all unlimited and every single thing I had managed to try was beautiful! Staff were polite, prompt, friendly and welcoming and made sure that this experience was one I won’t forget! Amazing! Well done guys!

My wife and l went here just after lunch time, we go to local pub restaurants every mid week.

Brilliant service, very quick to attend to us and starter and main served very quick and food hot and extremely tasty.

Best fillet steak we have had, we could not find one thing to be critical of.

Lovely waitress first class all round.

Excellent meal , very friendly staff in particular our waiter Adam was brilliant and very helpful ,nothing was too much trouble for him . We did have to wait a little while but this was clearly explained to us as we sat down , this was due to training new chefs . We will definitely go again and would highly recommend this place

Not as good as it used to be. Had the lamb which was ok but size of meal wasn't satisfying. Also had liquor coffee, couldn't taste or smell any alcohol and tasted like cream had gone off. Was my birthday but spoilt the occasion.

I feel a bit bad only awarding a 3 star rating but this is not given to the food. We have eaten here many times and on the whole the food is good, no, very good!!(Most of the time) It’s the staff that let the place down. The service is very slow and the staff are shall we say lacking in the niceties that you expect when in this kind of establishment (and a smile every now and again wouldn’t kill them). This doesn’t apply to all of the staff, some are quite pleasant and have good customer service skills. On the whole though the service is slow and if you have ordered your steak rare, after it has sat under the heat lamps waiting for it to be brought to your table it is more often than not, well done by the time you get to eat it.

Very slow service and the menu didn't give adequate descriptions. I had an open steak sandwich but the lettuce was saturated in mayonnaise, if the menu had said it was on there I would have asked for it with out. No table check, restaurant was cold and still using Christmas menu sheets for the children. I won't be returning, not sure why anyone local would. I presume it's kept going by the premier inn guests.

Had the tasteless, water-injected chicken (with ribs) at Longford House. I told the waitress when she asked. "Not a lot I can do" she said. I had a half price voucher. At half price, it was vastly overpriced.

Arrived Friday afternoon ..... felt like the pub was understaffed at all times we were in their had to wait a while for drinks seemed to be only one member of staff on the bar and the same with the restraunt limited staff ordered steak with unlimited chips but again due to lack of staff unable to get more chips 🍟 staff over worked running around whilst manger just sat there .... breakfast was just as bad limited to one member of staff and a chef who looked like he would like to be somewhere else bacon tasted horrid couldn't eat it next time we are in the area we will be checking at the other hotels

Absolutely disappointed with our experience tonight. Table booked for 7:30pm. Had to stand around for 15 mins in order to get to our table. We weren’t taken to our table the server just pointed to it and walked off. Finally comes back with menus but took a further 20 mins for someone to come and take our order. Other tables were getting cleaned in front of us and bills etc. My husband had to go and ask someone to come do it. We had 4 young children with us who were growing very irritable. No offer of top up drinks wasn’t until we got up to go to the bar did the server come over and offer to order. Food was mediocre. Fish very greasy and bland. No sauces ready so had to wait for those to come back to the table. I just think it should have gone better. While there I heard so many people complain about waiting around. I understand it’s a busy weekend with Mother’s Day but if your not equipped to deal with it then don’t do it. Instead of trying to cram as many sittings in one night as possible just so you can pull in the money. Set ur limit so there’s no one being rushed to leave and people standing around waiting for their table. Reading previous reviews I doubt any of this will ever change as it basically took you 2 hours to serve us a one course meal as we didn’t have time for anything else. Not impressed.

Shocking yet again. Waited 40 mins and no one came to take our order. We had to go and get someone . Then waited another 40 mins for food ....then we asked for 2 pints of San Miguel and got 2 becks . AND they didnt bring the garlic mushrooms out at all ! This has happened so many times and people have said service is bad but we thought it might of got better but no.still the same.

Service and attitudes of staff were shocking, in particular one of the male waiters was awful, was a horrible experience and would NOT recommend to anyone.

The food was just about ok, but stupidly expensive for what we got, however that isn't the worst of it.

They dumped our starters on the table and we started to eat, then less than five minutes later they were back at the table hurrying us to finish the starters. They removed the plate my partner was still eating off, he had the bread in his hand still, and tried to take my toddlers plate away too, when I asked them to leave it, they reluctantly did, as she was still eating. Five minutes is not a long enough time for adults to finish a starter, let along a young child.

Then seconds later, over come the main meals. At this point my daughter was still eating her starter, so her plate was just left on the side of the table. Felt so rushed.

Then....the male waiter asked if we would like any condiments, I asked what sauces they have, and got a reply, 'well you know, tomato, vinegar...the list is too long to go on' which I thought was very rude. His attitude had a lot to be desired.

After the meal it went from being stupidly fast, to not really giving a damn we were there. There was no in between.

When we asked for second drinks they took a while to come.

They then took over half an hour to come and clear the table away after we had all finished the main meal, plates were just sat there.

Eventually they come to give us a desert menu (at this point we wanted to just leave but had promised my toddler ice cream) so decided to stay.

After another half hour wait, they finally took the order and the actual food again, arrived fairly quickly.

We then spent a further half hour trying to get someone's attention to pay the bill, it was a nightmare, nobody wants to make eye contact with you or even acknowledge you're there.

Whole experience was disgusting and I will never go back again.

We were going to make a formal complaint about the male waiter and how he spoke to us, but he wasn't wearing a name badge so can't, and didn't want to stay in that place any longer to speak to a manager, after 3 hours in a restaurant my toddler had just about had enough, let alone us.

Just had a meal with my family. I had the meat ball languine which were still frozen. My son had a burger only to find it had the mouldiest bun i've seen. Manager was very apologetic and has told the chef to make sure the meat balls are cooked .I would have thought that was the chefs job. Breakfast was nice though.

I am over from Northern Ireland ! First time visiting the Beefeater Longford house ! Disappointed 😔 No ice at the bar 🙈🙈 !! Food was okay !! Service was appalling by the staff !! 🙈🙈 !!

I've used this beefeater before and it's been great and recommended it to a lot of people! This won't be happening again! Avoid avoid avoid! Staff walking past us as we was waiting to be seated! Then finally got seen to be told us it was a 15 minute wait for food! We finally sat down to see that there was literally 20 tables available and staff was just wondering round doing nothing!

I then ordered the Sunday lunch I went there for for the waitress to come back to say we no longer serving those now! (But gave me the menu anyway)

Told manager we was going to leave he said ok! Then he said will do the lunch but can't do roasters!

He then lied to to my face saying that everyone left that's why the tables were empty when we was seated! But I was actually standing by the door and no one left!

It was a joke from the time we got in there! Unfortunately didn't make it to the end!

Just avoid asking that clown of a manager is running it that's all I can say! What chance have the staff got when your managed by a idiot like that!

We have eaten here many times and on the whole the food is good, no, very good!!(Most of the time) It’s the staff that let the place down. The service is very slow and the staff are shall we say lacking in the niceties that you expect when in this kind of establishment (and a smile every now and again wouldn’t kill them). This doesn’t apply to all of the staff, some are quite pleasant and have good customer service skills. On the whole though the service is slow and if you have ordered your steak rare, after it has sat under the heat lamps waiting for it to be brought to your table it is more often than not, well done by the time you get to eat it.

I had an open steak sandwich but the lettuce was saturated in mayonnaise, if the menu had said it was on there I would have asked for it with out. No table check, restaurant was cold and still using Christmas menu sheets for the children. I won't be returning, not sure why anyone local would. I presume it's kept going by the premier inn guests.

Had the tasteless, water-injected chicken (with ribs) at Longford House. I told the waitress when she asked. "Not a lot I can do" she said. I had a half price voucher. At half price, it was vastly overpriced.

We weren’t taken to our table the server just pointed to it and walked off. Finally comes back with menus but took a further 20 mins for someone to come and take our order. Other tables were getting cleaned in front of us and bills etc. My husband had to go and ask someone to come do it. We had 4 young children with us who were growing very irritable. No offer of top up drinks wasn’t until we got up to go to the bar did the server come over and offer to order. Food was mediocre. Fish very greasy and bland. No sauces ready so had to wait for those to come back to the table. I just think it should have gone better. While there I heard so many people complain about waiting around. I understand it’s a busy weekend with Mother’s Day but if your not equipped to deal with it then don’t do it. Instead of trying to cram as many sittings in one night as possible just so you can pull in the money. Set ur limit so there’s no one being rushed to leave and people standing around waiting for their table. Reading previous reviews I doubt any of this will ever change as it basically took you 2 hours to serve us a one course meal as we didn’t have time for anything else. Not impressed.

The food was just about ok, but stupidly expensive for what we got, however that isn't the worst of it.

They dumped our starters on the table and we started to eat, then less than five minutes later they were back at the table hurrying us to finish the starters. They removed the plate my partner was still eating off, he had the bread in his hand still, and tried to take my toddlers plate away too, when I asked them to leave it, they reluctantly did, as she was still eating. Five minutes is not a long enough time for adults to finish a starter, let along a young child.

Then seconds later, over come the main meals. At this point my daughter was still eating her starter, so her plate was just left on the side of the table. Felt so rushed.

Then....the male waiter asked if we would like any condiments, I asked what sauces they have, and got a reply, 'well you know, tomato, vinegar...the list is too long to go on' which I thought was very rude. His attitude had a lot to be desired.

After the meal it went from being stupidly fast, to not really giving a damn we were there. There was no in between.

When we asked for second drinks they took a while to come.

They then took over half an hour to come and clear the table away after we had all finished the main meal, plates were just sat there.

Eventually they come to give us a desert menu (at this point we wanted to just leave but had promised my toddler ice cream) so decided to stay.

After another half hour wait, they finally took the order and the actual food again, arrived fairly quickly.

We then spent a further half hour trying to get someone's attention to pay the bill, it was a nightmare, nobody wants to make eye contact with you or even acknowledge you're there.

Whole experience was disgusting and I will never go back again.

We were going to make a formal complaint about the male waiter and how he spoke to us, but he wasn't wearing a name badge so can't, and didn't want to stay in that place any longer to speak to a manager, after 3 hours in a restaurant my toddler had just about had enough, let alone us.

Just had a meal with my family. I had the meat ball languine which were still frozen. My son had a burger only to find it had the mouldiest bun i've seen. Manager was very apologetic and has told the chef to make sure the meat balls are cooked .I would have thought that was the chefs job. Breakfast was nice though.

I am over from Northern Ireland ! First time visiting the Beefeater Longford house ! Disappointed 😔 No ice at the bar 🙈🙈 !! Food was okay !! Service was appalling by the staff !! 🙈🙈 !!

He then lied to to my face saying that everyone left that's why the tables were empty when we was seated! But I was actually standing by the door and no one left!

It was a joke from the time we got in there! Unfortunately didn't make it to the end!

Just avoid asking that clown of a manager is running it that's all I can say! What chance have the staff got when your managed by a idiot like that!

There was such a wide variety of cooked and continental options, endless choice and beautiful fresh hot and cold drinks, all unlimited and every single thing I had managed to try was beautiful! Staff were polite, prompt, friendly and welcoming and made sure that this experience was one I won’t forget! Amazing! Well done guys!

My wife and l went here just after lunch time, we go to local pub restaurants every mid week.

Brilliant service, very quick to attend to us and starter and main served very quick and food hot and extremely tasty.

Best fillet steak we have had, we could not find one thing to be critical of.

We did have to wait a little while but this was clearly explained to us as we sat down , this was due to training new chefs . We will definitely go again and would highly recommend this place

Other tables were getting cleaned in front of us and bills etc. My husband had to go and ask someone to come do it. We had 4 young children with us who were growing very irritable. No offer of top up drinks wasn’t until we got up to go to the bar did the server come over and offer to order. Food was mediocre. Fish very greasy and bland. No sauces ready so had to wait for those to come back to the table. I just think it should have gone better. While there I heard so many people complain about waiting around. I understand it’s a busy weekend with Mother’s Day but if your not equipped to deal with it then don’t do it. Instead of trying to cram as many sittings in one night as possible just so you can pull in the money. Set ur limit so there’s no one being rushed to leave and people standing around waiting for their table. Reading previous reviews I doubt any of this will ever change as it basically took you 2 hours to serve us a one course meal as we didn’t have time for anything else. Not impressed.

AND they didnt bring the garlic mushrooms out at all ! This has happened so many times and people have said service is bad but we thought it might of got better but no.still the same.

Service and attitudes of staff were shocking, in particular one of the male waiters was awful, was a horrible experience and would NOT recommend to anyone.

The food was just about ok, but stupidly expensive for what we got, however that isn't the worst of it.

They dumped our starters on the table and we started to eat, then less than five minutes later they were back at the table hurrying us to finish the starters. They removed the plate my partner was still eating off, he had the bread in his hand still, and tried to take my toddlers plate away too, when I asked them to leave it, they reluctantly did, as she was still eating. Five minutes is not a long enough time for adults to finish a starter, let along a young child.

Then seconds later, over come the main meals. At this point my daughter was still eating her starter, so her plate was just left on the side of the table. Felt so rushed.

Then....the male waiter asked if we would like any condiments, I asked what sauces they have, and got a reply, 'well you know, tomato, vinegar...the list is too long to go on' which I thought was very rude. His attitude had a lot to be desired.

After the meal it went from being stupidly fast, to not really giving a damn we were there. There was no in between.

When we asked for second drinks they took a while to come.

They then took over half an hour to come and clear the table away after we had all finished the main meal, plates were just sat there.

Eventually they come to give us a desert menu (at this point we wanted to just leave but had promised my toddler ice cream) so decided to stay.

After another half hour wait, they finally took the order and the actual food again, arrived fairly quickly.

We then spent a further half hour trying to get someone's attention to pay the bill, it was a nightmare, nobody wants to make eye contact with you or even acknowledge you're there.

Whole experience was disgusting and I will never go back again.

We were going to make a formal complaint about the male waiter and how he spoke to us, but he wasn't wearing a name badge so can't, and didn't want to stay in that place any longer to speak to a manager, after 3 hours in a restaurant my toddler had just about had enough, let alone us.

Just had a meal with my family. I had the meat ball languine which were still frozen. My son had a burger only to find it had the mouldiest bun i've seen. Manager was very apologetic and has told the chef to make sure the meat balls are cooked .I would have thought that was the chefs job. Breakfast was nice though.

I am over from Northern Ireland ! First time visiting the Beefeater Longford house ! Disappointed 😔 No ice at the bar 🙈🙈 !! Food was okay !! Service was appalling by the staff !! 🙈🙈 !!

Then finally got seen to be told us it was a 15 minute wait for food! We finally sat down to see that there was literally 20 tables available and staff was just wondering round doing nothing!

I then ordered the Sunday lunch I went there for for the waitress to come back to say we no longer serving those now! (But gave me the menu anyway)

Told manager we was going to leave he said ok! Then he said will do the lunch but can't do roasters!

He then lied to to my face saying that everyone left that's why the tables were empty when we was seated! But I was actually standing by the door and no one left!

It was a joke from the time we got in there! Unfortunately didn't make it to the end!

Just avoid asking that clown of a manager is running it that's all I can say! What chance have the staff got when your managed by a idiot like that!

We came last night 12 of us couldnt fault it never been to this one before,meals were all perfect didnt wait very long for meals,staff were lovely very friendly & helpful will definatley be visiting again

The breakfast was absolutely first class, freshly cooked to order, tasted absolutely delightful! There was such a wide variety of cooked and continental options, endless choice and beautiful fresh hot and cold drinks, all unlimited and every single thing I had managed to try was beautiful! Staff were polite, prompt, friendly and welcoming and made sure that this experience was one I won’t forget! Amazing! Well done guys!

My wife and l went here just after lunch time, we go to local pub restaurants every mid week.

Brilliant service, very quick to attend to us and starter and main served very quick and food hot and extremely tasty.

Best fillet steak we have had, we could not find one thing to be critical of.

Lovely waitress first class all round.

Excellent meal , very friendly staff in particular our waiter Adam was brilliant and very helpful ,nothing was too much trouble for him . We did have to wait a little while but this was clearly explained to us as we sat down , this was due to training new chefs . We will definitely go again and would highly recommend this place

Not as good as it used to be. Had the lamb which was ok but size of meal wasn't satisfying. Also had liquor coffee, couldn't taste or smell any alcohol and tasted like cream had gone off. Was my birthday but spoilt the occasion.

I feel a bit bad only awarding a 3 star rating but this is not given to the food. We have eaten here many times and on the whole the food is good, no, very good!!(Most of the time) It’s the staff that let the place down. The service is very slow and the staff are shall we say lacking in the niceties that you expect when in this kind of establishment (and a smile every now and again wouldn’t kill them). This doesn’t apply to all of the staff, some are quite pleasant and have good customer service skills. On the whole though the service is slow and if you have ordered your steak rare, after it has sat under the heat lamps waiting for it to be brought to your table it is more often than not, well done by the time you get to eat it.

I had an open steak sandwich but the lettuce was saturated in mayonnaise, if the menu had said it was on there I would have asked for it with out. No table check, restaurant was cold and still using Christmas menu sheets for the children. I won't be returning, not sure why anyone local would. I presume it's kept going by the premier inn guests.

Arrived Friday afternoon ..... felt like the pub was understaffed at all times we were in their had to wait a while for drinks seemed to be only one member of staff on the bar and the same with the restraunt limited staff ordered steak with unlimited chips but again due to lack of staff unable to get more chips 🍟 staff over worked running around whilst manger just sat there .... breakfast was just as bad limited to one member of staff and a chef who looked like he would like to be somewhere else bacon tasted horrid couldn't eat it next time we are in the area we will be checking at the other hotels
