Went here yesterday lunchtime with a friend having not been for many years ..the pub us tastefully decorated plenty if seating areas to eat away from just drinkers ..I can't fault the food or the staff who were lovely in this heat they were running round constantly looking after diners but still asked if everything was ok .if you don't want to wait for food go to a lower class of pub cause for me a busy pub is one people enjoy coming back to as the food is good if will deffinately be going back !!

Went here Saturday night and Monday night had a brilliant evening both nights the staff were brilliant and the food was gorgeous thank you

We go Loyal lodge occasionally and have always been pleased with the food and service. Never had to wait too long at all.

Visited for the first time, really lovely pub, great food and friendly staff.

Very nice place, although easily missed from the main road. Lovely food with large portions. Friendly staff. Recommended.

Superb menu, beautifully served, friendly welcoming staff ­¤æŹ Thumbs up for me ­¤æŹ

My husband has already reviewed the food and I agree totally that the food we had was generally excellent. I can sympathise with previous reviewer's comments about the collection of serving bowls which I feel are superfluous. My only negatives would be firstly that the puddings are not such a high standard as the mains ( the lodge mess was made with defrosted fruit which was in a lot of juice and "squirty cream " which was a bit disappointing ) and secondly the online menu does not do justice to the good variety of vegetarian food that is on the in house menu. As a vegetarian if I had solely relied on the online menu and not the advice of friends, I probably would not have visited ! Lovely helpful staff . Will certainly return.

Had our reunion here again and had a fantastic night. Great atmosphere great company and of course our richard holt always life and soul of the party. Bar staff were lovely. Always a great place to go with friends highly recommend ’┐Įx

Had a wonderful evening on the 23rd January for my mother's 80th birthday there was a crowd of 12 Adults an 2 children food was great an came out very close together so we were all eating at the same time staff very pleasant

Had a long over due get together with friends, we all had excellent meals, it was very busy ( because of the football) but we didn't have to wait too long. Staff very freindly & curtious.

Will definitely be going again! ­¤śŗ­¤śŗ

Had a fantastic meal. Waiter was great table set up for all of us and plastic cutlery for my twio little ones. Could fault anything at all and recommend the mix grill skewer too anyone and would defo come again thank you guys for a plessent night

Been saying ages we were going to go, last Friday we did then again on Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday and Friday haha...one of mentioning no names even went Saturday and Sunday and is back in there again today haha. Food is amazing! Staff are wonderful, really pleasant and friendly. It's dog friendly and we made a little friend Eppy, shame we all lost our jobs on Friday and now have to find work elsewhere so no more lunching in the lodge but I'm pretty damn sure we will meet for lunch on a Saturday and it will definitely be at the lodge. TIP- The chocolate fudge sundae is amazing! !!!! You have to try it!

Prefer to use the Lodge as somewhere to drink rather than eat. Starter of chicken wings was nice and glad that children's meals came out at the same time. Bearing in mind however that the table was small, found the excess food boards a bit much and found the lack of space for drinks etc a nightmare. Main course of fish and chips was the same....a board to put plate on and a dish for mushy peas, glass dishes for ketchup and mayo for my husband who had the chicken burger. Food was deep fried and massively greasy, husband couldn't hold his burger together. We left most of our food but one daughter wanted ice cream....couldn't leave the other daughter out. Bearing in mind our children are 4 and one, a couple of scoops of vanilla with chocolate sauce would've done but no....more bowls....ice cream, popcorn, marshmallows, white chocolate buttons and milk chocolate buttons. It didn't take long before the 4yo became hyper. Found our experience very traumatic and left leaving a lot of food. Perhaps get rid of the excess grease, the use of a good old fashioned plate-for smaller tables for space saving and reduce the washing up, (and plastic ones to go with plastic cutlery for little ones) and smaller portion sizes for children need to be looked at to reduce waste! Staff very friendly and helpful though.

Fab food, but loud argument going on when we entered which continued with shouting and swearing from some customers. DidnŌĆÖt appear to be dealt with by pub staff. Would never return

How things can change, from my first review,(now deleted) ordered Jim beam ribs and steak, steak was virtually inedible, corn on the cob was still cold, no onion rings, told the girl who served us who said she,d tell the chef, thatŌĆÖs where it ended, no attempt to put things right, very disappointed, just fed the remnants of my wifes steak to the dogs, even they turned their noses up at it.

Booked a table for last night in case it was busy. We were seated and after getting drinks at the bar ( had to ask for another as my wine glass had bright pink lipstick on the rim ) we looked at the menu. Hubby went to order at the bar and was told it was 1.5 hour wait as they had had a lot of walk in customers. I counted 7 empty tables? When I queried this on the way out a different member of staff looked puzzled that we had been told of the length of the wait and it wouldn't actually be that long. Had heard good things about this place and the food coming out for other diners looked good but after our experience we won't return.

How things can change, from my first review,(now deleted) ordered Jim beam ribs and steak, steak was virtually inedible, corn on the cob was still cold, no onion rings, told the girl who served us who said she,d tell the chef, thatŌĆÖs where it ended, no attempt to put things right, very disappointed, just fed the remnants of my wifes steak to the dogs, even they turned their noses up at it.

Booked a table for last night in case it was busy. We were seated and after getting drinks at the bar ( had to ask for another as my wine glass had bright pink lipstick on the rim ) we looked at the menu. Hubby went to order at the bar and was told it was 1.5 hour wait as they had had a lot of walk in customers. I counted 7 empty tables? When I queried this on the way out a different member of staff looked puzzled that we had been told of the length of the wait and it wouldn't actually be that long. Had heard good things about this place and the food coming out for other diners looked good but after our experience we won't return.

Went here yesterday lunchtime with a friend having not been for many years ..the pub us tastefully decorated plenty if seating areas to eat away from just drinkers ..I can't fault the food or the staff who were lovely in this heat they were running round constantly looking after diners but still asked if everything was ok .if you don't want to wait for food go to a lower class of pub cause for me a busy pub is one people enjoy coming back to as the food is good if will deffinately be going back !!

We go Loyal lodge occasionally and have always been pleased with the food and service. Never had to wait too long at all.

Visited for the first time, really lovely pub, great food and friendly staff.

Very nice place, although easily missed from the main road. Lovely food with large portions. Friendly staff. Recommended.

My husband has already reviewed the food and I agree totally that the food we had was generally excellent. I can sympathise with previous reviewer's comments about the collection of serving bowls which I feel are superfluous. My only negatives would be firstly that the puddings are not such a high standard as the mains ( the lodge mess was made with defrosted fruit which was in a lot of juice and "squirty cream " which was a bit disappointing ) and secondly the online menu does not do justice to the good variety of vegetarian food that is on the in house menu. As a vegetarian if I had solely relied on the online menu and not the advice of friends, I probably would not have visited ! Lovely helpful staff . Will certainly return.

Had our reunion here again and had a fantastic night. Great atmosphere great company and of course our richard holt always life and soul of the party. Bar staff were lovely. Always a great place to go with friends highly recommend ’┐Įx

Had a wonderful evening on the 23rd January for my mother's 80th birthday there was a crowd of 12 Adults an 2 children food was great an came out very close together so we were all eating at the same time staff very pleasant

Had a long over due get together with friends, we all had excellent meals, it was very busy ( because of the football) but we didn't have to wait too long. Staff very freindly & curtious.

Will definitely be going again! ­¤śŗ­¤śŗ

Had a fantastic meal. Waiter was great table set up for all of us and plastic cutlery for my twio little ones. Could fault anything at all and recommend the mix grill skewer too anyone and would defo come again thank you guys for a plessent night

Been saying ages we were going to go, last Friday we did then again on Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday and Friday haha...one of mentioning no names even went Saturday and Sunday and is back in there again today haha. Food is amazing! Staff are wonderful, really pleasant and friendly. It's dog friendly and we made a little friend Eppy, shame we all lost our jobs on Friday and now have to find work elsewhere so no more lunching in the lodge but I'm pretty damn sure we will meet for lunch on a Saturday and it will definitely be at the lodge. TIP- The chocolate fudge sundae is amazing! !!!! You have to try it!

A really good meal last night at the Loyal Lodge. 8 of us including two children. The service was very friendly. Food was delicious. We had a wide range of food and it was all very tasty. Very busy, but food was freshly prepared and served hot. Good to see the place busy, after a few quiet years. We have been many times and will be back many more! Happy Easter ’┐Į

My cousin and I both enjoyed the lodge tonight x first time in years and the food was exactly what I needed x staff were friendly, fun and punctual, tables cleared away clearly and the merlot;;;;; fab! And so cheap! Karaoke so funny x so enjoyed my night x x loyal lodge your staff are great x

Prefer to use the Lodge as somewhere to drink rather than eat. Starter of chicken wings was nice and glad that children's meals came out at the same time. Bearing in mind however that the table was small, found the excess food boards a bit much and found the lack of space for drinks etc a nightmare. Main course of fish and chips was the same....a board to put plate on and a dish for mushy peas, glass dishes for ketchup and mayo for my husband who had the chicken burger. Food was deep fried and massively greasy, husband couldn't hold his burger together. We left most of our food but one daughter wanted ice cream....couldn't leave the other daughter out. Bearing in mind our children are 4 and one, a couple of scoops of vanilla with chocolate sauce would've done but no....more bowls....ice cream, popcorn, marshmallows, white chocolate buttons and milk chocolate buttons. It didn't take long before the 4yo became hyper. Found our experience very traumatic and left leaving a lot of food. Perhaps get rid of the excess grease, the use of a good old fashioned plate-for smaller tables for space saving and reduce the washing up, (and plastic ones to go with plastic cutlery for little ones) and smaller portion sizes for children need to be looked at to reduce waste! Staff very friendly and helpful though.
