What a truly stunning and magical castle. We attended and stayed in the grounds and were so taken by it's presence that we wish to use the venue for some of our weddings. There is enough castle left for children and big kids to explore mind the bottom step of the tower as its strategically shorter ;-) and of course a perfect backdrop for Battle heritage to put on their armour and fight it out. Will be back again and special thanks to lovely staff. Sir Freddy

User

We've been to the castle a number of times. The events held are excellent particularly the Food Festival. Yesterday’s visit was for the Battle Heritage and the Heritage Cup. Didn’t know quite what to expect. It was unbelievable. Full contact Knights in Armour fighting for medals. The individual events were good but wait until the 3V3 and 5V5 starts. Lots of other going on too. The kids and grown-ups will love it. Who even knew this was a sport.

User

We went to visit Ludlow Castle and were treated to a magnificent medieval day. Thoroughly enjoyable. And the whole town is just like stepping back in time. Will be back soon!

User

We have just Been to ludlow and the food festival for the first time........whole experi nice was brilliant!! We have already booked for next year😀😀😀

User

Visited early this week, brought along my American relatives, they loved it. Makes you realise when talking to them how lucky we are to still have places like this still standing. Good value for money when you compare with other places. The view was amazing from the top, what a gem of a castle.

User

Very interesting and beautiful castle. Good to have the archaeologists there too.

User

This is a great place to visit. Make sure you pay the extra and have an audio guide because it makes all the difference. It took me just over an hour to complete the tour, but you can take as long as you want. It's dog friendly too.

User

The setting and area is stunning. The castle preservation is very good.

I would love to do another Civil War event there.

User

The grounds are pristine, the castle is located in the heart of a quaint town. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the entrance fee to the castle was very reasonable.

User

The food festival was brilliant the only thing that spoiled it was the rain. Roll on next year xx

User

Spent a fascinating afternoon with Leon, the archaeologist, we were a small group (myself & my 14 year old son plus another family of 4). I highly recommend his tour, Leon guided us through the castle from a different viewpoint to the usual historical stories and really brought the buildings & area to life. His passion for this subject is evident in how he guided us through and how he held our attention, even my son thoroughly enjoyed it (high praise from my teen) and we look forward to returning to find out more and see how Leon's work at the Castle progresses.

On a wider note the staff at the castle & in the tearooms were friendly & helpful, all together a really interesting & good day out. We'll definitely be back soon

User

Really lovely castle and enjoyed the beer and food festival would defo return.

User

Really interesting place. Step back in time the moment you walk in. I could almost see knights of old defending their territory. Views from the top of the tower overlooking Ludlow town are spectacular. Well worth a visit.

User

Made a special trip this weekend to visit Ludlow Castle and it didn't disappoint. The grandeur of the stone work was fantastic and you can really imagine just how impressive it was at the time of Roger Mortimer and Arthur Tudor. Would certainly recommend.

User

Lovely place where you can go back in time. Totally recommended!!

User

Loved this castle. Would love to step back in time just for one day to see the fullness of it all and what life would have been like.

User

Loved the castle, it would have been a proper sleeping beauty castle in its time. I took lots of photos and even (I think unwittingly took a photo with a ghostly face in it!!!)

User

Loved my day here...Ludlow is great for sight seeing, food and drink...cream tea was stunning too

User

Loved ludlow castle with great company my first time it was amazing the price range was great cant go wrong fiver for an adult and prices were you would spent were im from ireland very dare for some of there tours and trips

User

Loved it. I have been a few times as part of a school trip but every time feels as if it's the first time. I will never get bored visiting and will definitely be back.

User

Leon the resident archaeologist provided a fascinating and informative tour of the beautiful castle. Friendly staff when we visited on Saturday. Well worth a visit to complement this pretty town.

User

I have been visiting Ludlow for years and it has to be one of my favourite places. Especially knowing the history. Looking forward to visiting again this weekend. Beautiful place. Also for the medieval Christmas Fayre at Ludlow.

User

I have been here many times over the years as I live locally and it never fails to impress. What a formidable place it must have been back in it’s heyday. Well worth a visit

User

Had our Civil Partnership wedding in the Beacon Rooms six years ago and still have great memories. Ludlow Castle is a magical place with so much history and atmosphere. Love it!

User

Had an amazing time exploring the ruins would recommend going for a day out for all ages

User

Had a really good day in Ludlow

The castle is very well kept and reasonably priced to visit

Having a sunny day too was really good

User

Great day out with the wife lovely weather also helped loads more interesting than I expected real good day would highly recommend

User

Great day out at Ludlow Castle, and the Medieval fighting Tournament. Who wouldn't want to watch men and ladies, dressed in full armour beating seven bells out of each other.

full day of entertainment, castle was well preserved and lots of information available. Fun for all ages.

User

Didn't know what to expect and when walking in thought like Omg what have we done. Once walking around it was lovely, great place to see and some amazing views of Ludlow. £5 per person which we were there for well over an hour which felt like good value. Kept in good standard, clean, tidy and felt really nice.

User

Did the food festival, brilliant day. Only downfall was the park and walk. The charge was £5 for the day and we were told it was a 10 minute walk to the castle. Well that was a complete untruth. It took a good half hour. I had to take my inhaler because it was a climb in places. Disabled people need to be aware

User

Brilliant afternoon, ticket enables you to return throughout the day.. very interesting , lots to explore, up and down the towers.. fun afternoon for all the family

User

Beautiful.

User

Beautiful place plenty of space to sit with a picnic my kids aged 11/8/5 really enjoyed it

User

Beautiful castle with loads of hidden places. Whole family enjoyed it including my hard to please teenagers! Well worth the visit and very cheap entrance.

User

A really great place to visit. Not expensive either.

Very surprising when you walk in it is much bigger than I had expected. Great views from the top of the battlements.

User

I loved it! I grew up here. Yes it's pricey but a great experience and helps to keep a pretty isolated small market town on the map! They only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I felt that there could have been more children's activities down in the moat area. My boys loved the circus 4 years ago.

User

Fantastic place with a wealth of interesting history. It’s a shame though because so much more could be done to bring its story to life!

User

Attended the food festival yesterday for the first time. Really enjoyed it - great atmosphere, very well organised and absolutely loved the town. Can't wait to come back for a weekend.

User

It was ok but not much to see a lot of money for a ruin there could have been a more informative way of explain it's history it was a beautiful day but we wandered around for about 30mins and left slightly disappointed 😔 I know it's a ruin but could do more
