i found this place but it looked dodgy but then my bird said ohh lets get that burger due to a sign they sold burgers, n said ok, walking down the alley way then threw a building looked like we where about to be dinner for crazy people and ended up in a topnotch place and had the baconator which is the bestest burger i can remember having in a very long, it was gawjus then we had a super sharing sundae each cause at those prices it sounded small �

Wow!! I think I may have died and gone to heaven. amazing food and brilliant staff. Thank you so much for choosing my pudding (I couldn't choose so asked the waitress to choose for me) every bite was a little piece of heaven �. We will be back

Wow! What a quirky little place! The place its self is so cool. The staff were smiley, friendly and attentive. The menu was huge! What a fab selection of burgers! Vegetarian and vegan options too! And they tasted delicious! Chips were lush too! We really had a fantastic evening thank you all! We will definitely be back xx

What a gem quirky setting, lovely menu choices including vegetarian...portobello mushrooms and goats cheese burger with skinny option of no bun and salad. Yum. Very friendly staff, well cooked and well presented food.

We Visited here for the third time last night, that's a clear indication already that this restaurant is doing something right and I'm now sitting here this morning thinking about when my fourth visit will be, in short, this place is AMAZING. Love the atmosphere downstairs, love the endlessly interesting menu I will order everything eventually but above all LOVE the burgers. You can eat here and it's not exactly the same as everywhere else it's not a bland and flat burger experience I always genuinely feel like I've eaten something different here and that can be quite rare out there. All I know is this restaurant is getting it right and we will be eating here for a fourth time and hopefully many more times too.

Took my son here today and was our first visit. Lovely atmosphere, the staff very welcoming, service five stars and the food was so tasty...the chips are amazing...my son also had a milkshake and said it was really lovely! Will visit again for sure �

The food was excellent, we had the special- the Salopian Burger and the Spiced Lentil & Potato Burger. Both were superb, the service was really good and attentive, the decor quirky in a really lovely way. The den was an experience, we both said will will go back. Our only negative feedback would be the chairs were a little uncomfortable.

Just happened to stumble on a little alley way whilst strolling around Shrewsbury in search of something to eat. So inconspicuous, just a menu board and sign marking the existence of this wonderful establishment. What a find, we loved it. Before I get to the food....the very surroundings intrigued me. Luckily we were sat by a hand written document explaining the history of the place. It certainly has "a feel" about it. Very atmospheric. Once known as Traitors Gate, and once part of a Dominican Priory, it also saw the unearthing of skeletons as recent as 1934; thought to be the remains of soldiers who fought the Battle of Shrewsbury in the 15th Century.

The food was excellent and plenty of it! The sharing Nachos were loaded with lovely home made chilli beef. Delicious! All our main burgers were excellent. Top notch beef patties served in brioche buns, with fillings of your choice. The pulled pork on the filthy burger was really tasty, and all fries can be upgraded to suit individual choice.

Such a gem of a place! So glad we found it and we will definitely be returning!

Found this little gem quite by chance tucked down a little alley. A great find! The restaurant is unique and interesting, in a vault setting. Staff are friendly and attentive - very good service. The food is exceptionally good, the burgers were probably the best we’ve ever had. Definitely recommend and we will 100% go back.

Fab place - very quirky! We’d read about it on trip advisor before we visited Shrewsbury and stumbled across it when we were mooching about town. It’s tucked away so when we saw the sign we decided to investigate and I’m so glad we did as the food and service were amazing! Would recommend to anyone :o)

Fab little place tucked away a little off the beaten track. Food tastes just superb with mini versions of the main menu available if you want a light bite or small lunch. The staff (Michelle for a special mention) are very attentive and friendly. Accessibility is not great if tackling steep stairs is difficult and toilets are upstairs from the seating area, but it is a cellar restaurant after all. Can’t wait to go back.

Can’t praise it enough, amazing look, friendly staff and fantastic food! Will return very soon!

Came for a meal on wednesday night. First time visiting Lyons Den.



Service was brilliant staff could not do enough for us.



The Food was, well were to start, Absolutely beautiful!! Could not fault anything. Burgers were beautifully cooked, the chips and onion rings are amazing. Really wanted to sample pudding but was just so full after our mains.



Will definitely be returning soon.

A great find, down a little alley, didn't know what to expect. Staff were friendly and very efficient and the burger was delicious. Not cheap but a good size portion and well worth the cost, definitely no room for a dessert. Would highly recommend it - if you like burgers!!!!! �

The staff and atmosphere were faultless however I really enjoyed my meal when I first started it then found that the sweet potato fries became overpowered by salt the more I eat of them. My burger was nice but tasted a little burnt however I loved the idea of bacon fries used as a coating for the chicken burger.
