went on a girls weekend to celebrate my 65th could not have gone to a nicer hotel. staff were very good even when faced with some questions re malt whisky but were open about saying they did not have the knowledge or the age to know. Food of a high calibre and excellent taste. Thank you for my personalised cheese board, it made the night. Would recommend to all and hope to come back with my husband at some point.
We called in for lunch en route to John o' Groats. We had travelled from Perth in Western Australia to stay with my husbands brother and his wife. The lunch was excellent and I had Cullen skink for the first time, so tasty and very good choice. Staff were really welcoming and so interested in serving you well. Would definitely recommend. 5 stars from me!
Superb Room last night Nr 201, great views and sun streaming in, scallops and steak were excellent and loved the Old Pultney liquer just a pity i didn't have room for desert. Cooked breakfast kept me going until this evening. Hopefully will be back soon!!!

Over the years our family have held many celebrations at Mackays Hotel, including both our wedding last year and my sisters a few years before that. The service is excellent, and the food is always delicious! A really well run hotel with a friendly atmosphere and very helpful staff. Definitely the best hotel in town by a mile!
Mackays Hotel never fails to deliver with quality food, a varied menu, efficient service and a welcoming atmosphere. It's the best place in town for a special meal and also one of the few places to provide good access for people with disabilities. Would highly recommend.
Mackays Hotel is a very welcoming relaxing place to be. The rooms are beautifully decorated with stunning views! Murray, Ellie and staff provide the best service. They are truly wonderful people. Food is exquisite, the best I have tasted. I can't wait to come stay with you again!
Love Mackays for a meal always get fab service and the food is scrumptious � was in last weekend and can highly recommend the pumpkin risotto and the steak was cooked perfectly as always! Hopefully be back soon!

I stayed in one of their apartments, very nice & cosy. Food in the hotel is fab, chef even did me Cullen Skink even tough it wasn't on. The evening menu, you have to try it. It was excellent. Lovely staff too. Thanks to all at Mackays, I hope to return.
Had dinner in the hotel last night and it was beautiful. The food was delicious, staff were brilliant, very friendly and welcoming, can't believe I have never eaten here before. Will defiantly be back. Highly recommended. Thanks to everyone for a very enjoyable evening.
Had a tremendous meal in mackays hotel on the evening of Tuesday 14th June. .. ten work colleagues and myself presented with the most beautifully prepared locally sourced produce..from starters of monkfish to main course's of steak and the most amazing lamb dish I have ever had... well done Murray, Ellie and all your staff.
Had a lovely lunch this afternoon with my Dad (Father, Daughter date). We haven't been here since a few years but nothing has changed. The staff were so friendly and accommodating to us and the food was delicious. Thanks for a lovely time.
Had a fantastic meal in Mackays Hotel tonight. Staff were excellent and the food was delicious. It stands up well amongst the best in Scotland. A hidden gem in the North of Scotland and a must visit if you are in the area. Located in the smallest street in the world.
Fantastic warm friendly welcome. lovely old hotel with great character my room looked recently refurbished to a good standard lovely bathroom although you could be doing with a shelf or ledge to put toiletries on as i was staying for a couple of nights and prefer to lay my things out if I'm there for more than one night :-)
Had dinner the first night and it was definitely a good one rosette standard if not pushing on for two great flavours and textures from an obviously talented chef.
Thank you all @ Mackays Hotel for a fantastic stay.

Staff are very friendly, very attentive and very professional. Rooms are lovely. Food is excellent, best breakfast I've had in many many hotels. Couldn't connect to wi-fi in my 3rd floor room and no elevator might be a problem for some people
