We visited for an early dinner on Sat evening thank to a Groupon offer. Three courses and a bottle of wine for two people £50.

Food was out of this world.

Wine was a rather light red, but enjoyable.

Views across the city were breath taking.

The staff were friendly but a little over attentive.

The sticky toffee pudding and Ice cream to die for

User

I wrote a review on TripAdvisor, last night because we had a fantastic time ,it was my daughter's 30th birthday so we went for afternoon tea,,we were served by a waiter called lucky, he was great, very attentive, and nothing was to much trouble, we had procecco with lots of tea and coffee, I was given a coke, and lucky also brought my grandson an orange juice out which again was also a lovely touch, the sandwiches and cakes we're lovely just couldn't fault it, all the staff were very friendly and on the way out even the manger asked if we had enjoyed ourselves which we did, can't wait to go back xxx

User

Four of us dined here yesterday on a Groupon voucher before going to a concert at Symphony Hall. For £50 for 2 people for 3 courses and a bottle of wine, we all thought it was excellent value (not sure I'd want to pay full price though!) We were seated at a window table (without paying the extra £5pp), staff were very attentive and friendly, and the food was very good, we all enjoyed it very much and cannot fault the service or the food.

User

Food was fantastic quality! The service was impeccable! And the atmosphere was lovely! After reading some bad reviews we were a bit apprehensive but totally blown away with how nice an day we have had brought this from buy a gift and didn’t get treated differently to anyone else in the room! will definantly be back!! X

User

Although you couldn't find our booking, once seated we had a great time. A really lovely setting for afternoon tea with fantastic views. The service was great, really lovely and helpful staff, all our little foibles accommodated easily and the afternoon tea was delicious. A really relaxed civilised environment. We will definitely be back later this year for another birthday treat.

User

We ate here on a Sunday afternoon as apart of a Groupon deal purchased...Meal was lovely and staff very polite, we paid the additional £5 per person to sit in the window which was wonderful with the views but can get very warm as you can expect. I would not approach the Table/Bookings greeter unless at the exact time your table is booked as they will not seat you early (even when half the restaurant was empty) we didn't mind this really as it gave us a chance to have a drink out on the balcony. They do charge you for just have water on the table as well and there is a 10% discretionary service charge which you can ask to be removed and tip as you like after. Overall would probably go again.

User

Venue is fantastic with a great bar and really good live music fantastic views looking out over Birmingham. The young lady that was our waitress for the evening was fantastic and was really good with the child in our party. Food was of a really good standard and cooked to perfection would highly recommend for a special occasion

User

Excellent food but pricey, but then he's one of the top chefs in the world , stunning surrounding got there when it was light and watched Birmingham light up slowly through the night, only complaint so not 5 stars it was overly noisy for me, but that's the only thing I could fault, apart from the obnoxious lady sorting the tables the staff were absolutely 1st class, definetley going again

User

Went yesterday as my husband really wanted to try it and I was able to find a groupon that made it a little more affordable. The food was a good, not amazing.....but good although the set menu ( on the voucher) had changed which was disappointing . Again the service was good until switch over where we waited a while for the bill. But what irked me the most was the obvious way people who had a groupon were treated. I noticed the table next to us got ice cold water with lemon.....we got like warm tap water. The portion sizes were bigger, staff were far more attentive. Also I didn't like that we had to show the voucher before we were seated so everyone behind knew we had a voucher. Baring in mind I had already pre-paid we added a side of sourdough bread and they added a service charge.......£4.50 then £5.33 service charge?? Doubt we will go back......especially when we found the food hygiene rating is now 1!!!

User

It's a lovely looking restaurant well presented with well presented staff but that being said. I took my daughter recently it was a buy a gift voucher that I received for my birthday. My daughter chose the steak I chose the chicken Kiev the service was terrible we waited 45min for dessert and the food was not great my chicken was bone dry and my daughter thought the steak she had at Wetherspoons the day before was much nicer lol have to say I agreed the food was not up to much at all . Come on m.p.w live up to those beautiful surroundings and serve beautiful food .

User

As 3 star indicates it was just OK which is in my view 'not good enough'. Certainly not afternoon delight. We asked twice for water. The food was served and we were then left. Had to ask for our tea to be served. We then had to ask for the glasses of prosseco which was offered when we first sat down. Disappointing service, certainly not the standard I expected. Will not return or recommend. Only thing is I'm sorry to say this as my daughter had taken me there for a treat - sorry Cindy

User

Visited yesterday and was really looking forward to trying it out but it was disappointing to say the least. Starter was ok but we all went for steak as a main. They weren’t great and the sides weren’t served at the same time. My sister was served mouldy vine tomatoes!! Most disappointing I have to say. The restaurant was lovely and the views are nice but the service and food wasn’t anything special.

User

i attended your restaurant for my birthday last month,(i am a regular who attends atleast once a month) i am a halaal meat eater,

i was very much disappointed with the service i received i came with my partner,it took three times to get my food right on my birthday ready i had to ask the waitress to change my order just to remove the bacon from my burger twice each time i was assured three times that it was done but to my suprise each time i looked underneath my bun the bacon was still present,

as a muslim who eats halaal this was very saddning and disrespectful..not only that my birthday meal was ruined and i had to watch my partner finish my meal before me

as a regular customer of yours it has dishearted me and ruined my experience,

User

Waste of money, service was prompt but to be honest felt like they just wanted you out. Paid extra to sit by the window but the resaurant was empty. Plates were dirty, food was not good, i asked for my steak red came out cooked through, chewy and full of fat obivously a cheap cut. My brownie was lovely in the middle but rock solid around the edge so reheated not fresh. I would expect this quailty if i went to a cheap pub. There is an obivous difference the way they treat customers with a groupon voucher. Very disappointing but not surprised as had a bad experience at his other resaurant.

User

Not surprised this place just recieved a 1 star food hygiene rating!!!!!!

Ordered the lamb. It was basically a cheap cut of meat that tasted old. Grissely and tough, not a good food experience. The steak also tasted like it had been sitting out for days.

Had to order the drinks twice as they didn't arrive the first time.

• Nice view.

• Average staff - at best

• Staff speak limited English

• Average food - at best

• Cheap Meat

• Two food order mistakes

• Incorrect drinks order

• Drinks didn't arrive

• Had to ask for steak knives

• Music far too loud

• Bar staff unsure on cocktails

• Bar staff didn't know an "Old Fashioned"

It's one of those places where "cool kids" go because it's "cool" it's certainly not a place for food lovers or people looking for a top class restaurant.

Overall very disappointing. When you compare this place to restaurants like Nathan Outlaws in Port Isaac, Cornwall (similarly priced) They are world's apart on service, food quality and menu.

We won't be going back. I've been to restaurants half the cost that are easily twice as better in every way.

I don't mind paying top prices for top restaurants. But this is just a place pretending to be a top restaurant and charging top prices.

Avoid. Trust me.

User

Morning folks. So Sue Spencer & I had a lovely night out in Brum - bumped into old friends, made some new ones. However, the only disappointment was our meal at Marco Pierre - over priced, over rated rubbish. Poor service, waited ages to just get a drink, horrible fatty steak, no card machines working so had to pay with cash & they have the nerve to add a 10% service charge. When we complained to the waitress, she just agreed & said “that a lot of people had said the same thing, problems with meat suppliers, etc.” Will NEVER go there again! Such a shame after a year ago we had such a lovely evening there.....

User

I have a booking for this restaurant made months ago via Buy a gift. I called to clarify my time and was told as the system had changed since my booking they would cancel my booking and I would need to contact buy a gift to get my voucher released. I called back to question this as I have an email confirmation, I was told regardless I would have to pay and not be able to use by voucher that they have redeemed. When I said in that case I would cancel Caprice put the phone down on me. When I called back as I could not believe someone that rude would be working there, she said there was no manager available and put the phone down on me again. Unbelievable !!! Marco's has obviously gone down market !

User

I don’t like to usually vocalise my complaints but when you stay at a hotel where the room service is provided by a Marco Pierre White restaurant, one would expect food to a higher standard than your usual hotel chain. £18.95 for a burger that wetherspoons could do better essentially. After my utter disappointment, I checked the reviews on the Facebook page. Oh dear, it doesn’t look like customer feedback is ever taken into consideration. I wonder if Marco is aware.. Next time I see him in the Heathrow SIN lounge, I may not be able to keep quiet.

User

GHASTLY!! This is based on not even having dined there yet!

Absolutely disgraceful customer service! 2 hour slot for dinner (when we aren’t even local and would like to spend longer that with our friends). The response from Tulisa was that we should enjoy dining elsewhere. Even when I brought to her attention that we wouldn’t want to dine in a restaurant that has received 307 1 star reviews, she then had the audacity to respond to which I deleted the email without even reading it. Clearly the reservation staff have plenty of time on their hands!

My husband and I have dined in some very upmarket Michelin star restaurants where you are not rushed at all and although I understand that on occasion a few busier restaurants do give time slots, if you pay substantial prices and request for a longer dining time, they should honour that.

We wouldn’t bother setting foot in the restaurant...

Baring in mind I had already pre-paid we added a side of sourdough bread and they added a service charge.......£4.50 then £5.33 service charge?? Doubt we will go back......especially when we found the food hygiene rating is now 1!!!

Visited yesterday and was really looking forward to trying it out but it was disappointing to say the least. Starter was ok but we all went for steak as a main. They weren’t great and the sides weren’t served at the same time. My sister was served mouldy vine tomatoes!! Most disappointing I have to say. The restaurant was lovely and the views are nice but the service and food wasn’t anything special.

i attended your restaurant for my birthday last month,(i am a regular who attends atleast once a month) i am a halaal meat eater,

i was very much disappointed with the service i received i came with my partner,it took three times to get my food right on my birthday ready i had to ask the waitress to change my order just to remove the bacon from my burger twice each time i was assured three times that it was done but to my suprise each time i looked underneath my bun the bacon was still present,

as a muslim who eats halaal this was very saddning and disrespectful..not only that my birthday meal was ruined and i had to watch my partner finish my meal before me

as a regular customer of yours it has dishearted me and ruined my experience,

Waste of money, service was prompt but to be honest felt like they just wanted you out. Paid extra to sit by the window but the resaurant was empty. Plates were dirty, food was not good, i asked for my steak red came out cooked through, chewy and full of fat obivously a cheap cut. My brownie was lovely in the middle but rock solid around the edge so reheated not fresh. I would expect this quailty if i went to a cheap pub. There is an obivous difference the way they treat customers with a groupon voucher. Very disappointing but not surprised as had a bad experience at his other resaurant.

Avoid. Trust me.
