We are looking for level 3 qualified nursery nurses to join our longstanding team.
The role will involve:
• Caring for children aged 3 months-5 years within a nursery setting and assisting the staff in caring for the children's needs.... • Planning and delivering fun and exciting activities • Assisting with lunchtime activities • Ensuring the nursery is kept clean and tidy throughout the day • Working towards assessing the development of children through observations • Each day you will liaise with the team as well as parents, carers and other professionals to ensure we are meeting the needs of every individual child
We are seeking people with bubbly proactive "want to make a difference" attitudes, always willing to learn and pass on new ideas and generally get on dow with the children you are caring for.

We are delighted to share that Tina from our tweenie room, had her little boy at 4.50 a.m. this morning weighing 7lb 1oz. His name is Thiago and Mommy and baby are both well. Welcome to the world Thiago and the Mereside family!

We're hoping you're all enjoying the lovely weather. Our tweenies have been really interested in dinosaurs, so have been painting dinosaurs, breaking them free from ice and going on a dinosaur egg hunt! Our babies have been having lots of fun being outside and exploring texture with foam play and glittery sand. Preschool have been making their own beach scenes with paint and on the overhead projector. Preschool also went on a walk to look for items in the environment and used a tally chart to record their findings and loved meeting a very friendly dog on the walk.

Big jumps, gambols and dancing outside... exploring the mud kitchen to make tasty dishes.. exploring under the sea sensory play..... exploring colour mixing.... making our own abstract art... choosing shapes to make our picture and being the shopkeeper. All play is important and all play is an opportunity for learning... play is a child's work.

We've been exploring using our senses this week as we explored our "Going on a Bear Hunt" sensory trays, bubbly water, foam and feathers and bugs! We've also been developing those all important gross and fine motor skills... climbing, kicking balls, helping to sweep up, pinching playdough and building and stacking.

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads, Grandads, Step Dads, Uncles and all the other amazing men in our children’s lives, helping to raise and shape them, we hope you’re all having a great day!

Thank you so much to all our Preschool team, children and parents who made our trip to Hatton yesterday such a great day. We hope you all had fun and thankyou for all the lovely messages of thanks we have received since returning. They are greatly appreciated and we can only do trips like this with the support of parents and carers so we are very grateful for all those who were able to come along with us.

Please join us all in wishing Tina from our Tweenie room lots of love and luck as she finishes with us today to start her maternity leave. We can't wait to meet your new addition - The whole Mereside family x

Another lovely Sunny week and we have been very busy. We have been enjoying our walks and looking for bugs. We have also been exploring the hungry caterpillar story, mixing our own paint colours and then painting our own caterpillars outside as well as looking at the lifecycles of butterflies. We love drawing outside, we have been matching shapes and practicing writing our names too. Our babies have also been exploring lots of fine motor skills - pushing toys, shaking instruments, scooping sand and negotiating space and shape with the peg board. We have of course been looking after our garden too!

Don't forget! ….. We will be taking part again this year in the Muddy Puddle Walk to help raise money for Save the Children. We will be doing lots of activities across the week 13th - 17th May both outdoors and indoors. We would be very grateful of any donations you can make across this week, no matter how small as it is for a very good cause, to help Save the Children to fulfil their aim of protecting children, giving them a healthy start and chance to learn. Hello from Mereside, we have been super busy as always! Our preschoolers have been all about the bugs! Going to find leaves for our pet stick insects, drawing their own bugs, using the overhead projector to explore colour on butterflies and making bug prints in playdough. Our tweenies have been all about the babies and teddies, washing, drying, feeding, dressing and putting them to bed. They all did such a great job, we may put them to work in our baby room! Our babies have been busy exploring sensory play, washing cars and animals in water and making lots of bubbles, scrunching tissue paper, exploring mark making in oats and feeling the tickly grass under our toes.

Thank you so much to all our children and their glamorous assistants! (creative parents) who made a bonnet for our Easter bonnet competition. We were really pleased with the number of entries we had and all of the fab designs. Everyone got a little chocolate treat for taking part and congratulations to our winners and runners up who won Easter eggs.
