Food was excellent,ambience superb,went for first time for my fiancee's birthday,only downside was our waitress we were told a girl called Beth would serve our table ...we didn't have her instead it was Amandeep who don't know if was tired /stressed but came across as very frosty towards us ....another waitress with blonde hair helped us twice firstly by getting another drink for us as only person around plus changed a steak knife for us as it was given to us with food still on it for us to use ...she was most helpful and attentive...

Came today 14th July for my birthday. Can not fault anything. My partner had the speical ribeye steak with beef dripping he loved it. I had the full rack of ribs they were lovely couldn't eat them all. Also puds I had the chocolate ball lovely judt couldn't ear all if it very rich pudding. My partner had the banoffee cheesecake he loved it. The lady who served us Laura hall (Irish) I think she is. She was amazing all the way through service and even sang happy birthday to me bless her. There was a few birthdays tonight. Can't wait to come again in a few months bringing the in laws too xxx thank you again guys

Came here for my birthday on the 9th for the second year in a row & thoroughly enjoyed my meal, my steak was to perfection.

A couple of tiny faults with one meal & the service at the bar but our waiter Leon was fantastic, accommodating & completely professional which made it into a positive!

I would come here for the cocktails alone!

We usually have the fillet steak when we visit so decided to try something else. Hubby had sirloin which was beautiful, I had salmon but wished I'd had a steak. The accompaniments to the salmon were just not to my liking. However the Long Island Iced Tea was the best one I've had since having them on holiday in Greece 😄. The waitress, Beth I think, was very friendly, attentive and welcoming. Recently been to the Albert Dock branch in Liverpool and the service was excellent there too 👍. Can honestly say we have never had a bad meal so thank you.

I have been going to this facility for a very long time and have never had any issues with the service or food quality. So when I took my family on 22nd July to celebrate my mom and dads 40th wedding anniversary I was shocked at the state the toilets were in the service was poor. Took aged for food to get to tables and they ran out of t bone steaks. Disappointed

Haven’t been for a few years. Found it to be a little worn over the years. Our table was by the bar. This was very scruffy and tired. Under our table someone had spilt a drink and as I sat down my feet slid in it

The food was good and our waiter was a nice guy

I’m so disappointed to be writing a negative review after being a regular visitor to M&C for years.

It was my Mother’s Day treat from my son & though my meal was lovely his steak was sinewy & inedible.

While they tried to re-cook it the rest of our food went cold as they took his cutlery away together with all the atmosphere of our evening.

Sadly it made no difference, he couldn’t even cut through it with the big steak knife

Spoiled our evening, embarrassed at having to complain but it really was awful

We were compensated by the manager & apologies all round, guess it happens sometimes

Home now having tea & toast

I brought my daughter and her friend here yesterday for her birthday and I have to say I’m utterly disappointed. Before anyone says whatever I have been a regular customer at the miller for over ten years and the food yesterday was by far the worst.

They’ve changed the dressing on the lettuce which is now tangy as hell I couldn’t eat it never mind my daughter.

The onion loaf was rock hard and chewy as hell my rump steak was so cold the butter portion on top did not even start to melt.

The cheesy garlic bread was stale and chewy like it had been sat around for 20 mins. And the mother in laws £11.50 hand battered cod really don’t ask I’ve picked more fish out me teeth.

Anyway on a plus note the waitress was lovely she really tried hard to keep us sweet even though the kitchen and management failed her.

So anyway a free cheesy garlic bread and £16 discount was accepted in way of apology but more importantly you have lost one of your best customers.

It looked to me like all the staff have changed including management as I did not recognise one face I hope for your sakes you get your act together because the level of service you provide now does not warrant your price there are many more far better places to visit at a better price
