Moonrise Lodges Description
A pair of attractive modern detached wooden lodges, Moonrise Lodges are just two miles from the village of Priest Weston, situated in an elevated position to make the most of the stunning views of the surrounding Shropshire countryside.
The lodges occupy a large grassed field, next to the owner’s working dairy farm, with plenty of gravelled parking, open space and shared use of a children’s swing. Each of these superb lodges comes with its own private hot tub and is beautifully furnished throughout with wooden floors and attractive soft furnishings creating a luxurious holiday home.
The lodges have two comfortable double bedrooms which can be altered to single beds if needed and both have their own en-suite bathroom. There is an an open plan living area and a useful boot room. Full height windows in the living area are perfect for appreciating this glorious location and French doors lead out to a large decked space which extends round two sides of the lodge.
The attractive kitchen area is well equipped. Sit in the cosy living area and relax on the comfy sofas after a busy day exploring, enjoy a cool drink on the decking on warm evenings at the end of the day and enjoy the peaceful surroundings or pamper yourself by sinking into the warm inviting bubbles of the hot tub. Outside decking extends to two sides of each lodge and a there is lovely sunken hot tub. There is plenty of space for the children to let off steam or enjoy the swing and the lodge has its own gravelled parking area.
For a small fee visitors can book use of the owner’s tennis courts or fish for trout in the pool 200m away on the owner’s farm. You may wish to stretch your legs along one of the many numerous walks in the local area, explore Corndon Hills burial cairns or head up to the Bronze Age Stone Circle known as Mitchell’s Fold. Twenty minutes’ walk along country lanes will get you to the popular village pub in Priest Weston.
Moonrise Lodges are the perfect base for visiting the popular Welsh border town of Montgomery with its interesting shops and variety of pubs and restaurants, including the Michelin starred Checkers Restaurant, amongst its timber-framed buildings and cobbled streets. Visit the 13th century ruins of Montgomery Castle from where you have excellent views of the town below and beyond to the Welsh countryside. From Welshpool, about 10 miles away, you can take a ride on the narrow gauge steam railway through the Banwy Valley or enjoy one of the numerous walks in the locality. Back in Shropshire you are also spoilt for choice.
Spend the day admiring the mountainous beauty of the Stiperstones and Long Mynd or visiting one of the many charming towns and pretty villages such as medieval Shrewsbury, Church Stretton or the delightful Bishop’s Castle. Whether you like walking, cycling, birdwatching or sightseeing,

This little girl came into the world yesterday six weeks early. She’s very sleep and yet to stand. Fingers crossed all the love and cuddles she’s getting makes for a happy ending.

Where all this grass ends up!
A pity someone wasn’t filming us filming them. Jon on the quad me on the back trying to keep the camera still whilst also trying not to fall off!
When the trailer is full it goes back to the farm to empty the grass into the silage pit. Another tractor and trailer takes over so the harvester doesn’t have to stop.
The mowing , rowing up,harvesting and preparing the pit all happens at the same time so that’s six men and tractors working flat out for three days.
Wow!!!! What an amazing place, we have had such a fantastic time. It has been the most relaxing holiday I have ever been on.
The lodges are gorgeous and the scenery was stunning. And the pond was great to visit too.

What a lovely place to spend a few days of total peace and quiet . The accommodation is perfect the hot tub is wonderful and the views are to die for .
We have had an amazing weekend break to the lodges! A perfect get away with our 2 young children! A great location to go and get away from it all. The lodges are like brand new and very well equipped and the hot tub is a real treat!!

We have had an amazing 4 days here and made the most of all that's on offer; hot tub, farm tour, walks, the lake, swings and country air! The lodge is beautiful and the views are stunning! Staying here right now, we stay at lodges around the country and the views from here are absolutely stunning. Very well equipped lodge with a brilliant hot tub. Very highly recommended one of the best we have stayed at. Perfect if you want a tranquil getaway and to explore the local area xx
Stayed here at the start of December and absolutely loved it! The lodge is very beautifully kitted out with all the best necessities. There are lots of things to see and do; even though you probably won't want to leave this lodge/hot tub at all!
Stayed here at the beginning of December. Wonderful location. The lodges are beautiful, extremely comfy beds, full sized bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen. Great walks, long or short. We visited Montgomery and Bishops Castle although sitting in the lodge and looking at the view could happily pass an hour or two. You can do nothing or as much sight seeing as you want. Will be going back.
Second time we have been and it didn’t disappoint. Kids loved the hot tub, s’mores on the fire pit and playing rounders in the field. Thank you to Caroline and Jon for letting us help out on the farm - harrison loved his ride on the tractor. We shall be back next year xx
Loved it here. So clean and tidy. The rooms were all really spacious, it was a lovely warm weekend so made full use of the hot tub.
Nothing was a problem for the owner and she brought us down a brand new bbq to use and wood for the outdoor log burner.

Just returned from a weeks holiday in Swallow Lodge. The lodge itself was amazing. It was comfortable, clean & furnishings are to a high spec.
The owners are approachable & friendly.
The views are stunning & are enjoyable from either the balcony or from the hot tub!
It was our first visit to the area & would love to return to the lodges & explore more of the lovely countryside.
Just got back from an amazing stay at Curlew Lodge. Fabulous accommodation in a setting that would be hard to beat. Amazing views and we had amazing weather whilst enjoying the countryside. Thank you for everything - the hospitality was second to none. Would recommend whole heartedly to everyone.
Got back from our 2nd visit and love it even more than the last! Don’t hesitate to book, you won’t regret it!
Curlew lodge was overall an excellent weekend break and we could of stayed a lot longer, fantastic views, very quiet surrounding.
The lodge itself was beautiful all you could ask for, open planned living space with kitchen, 2 great sized rooms with wonderfully comfy bed, both bedrooms also have ensuite bathrooms. We also has a hot tub which was a great addition and we took full advantage of . All we needed to take ourselves was food. I would recommend this lodge to anyone who wants to relax and take in beautiful scenery.
The couple who rented the lodge to us couldn't of been more helpful and were easy to talk to. Excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome.
Been here few times now and July can't come quick enough for another visit. Perfect setting stunning views stunning lodge hot tub a huge bonus and treat and the welcome brownies are worth going for on their own �. You won't be disappointed... X
Absolutely loved it here! The lodge itself was immaculate and had everything you could ever need, the hot tub was perfect after a long country walk and we loved toasting marshmallows on the fire pit! It was a perfect country escape with the most amazing surroundings and we would highly recommend coming here for a mini break! Thanks for a wonderful trip!
5***+ we had a relaxing stay at swallow lodge, it was just what we needed! Brownies on arrival were a nice touch. The views are fabulous and it is so quiet and peaceful. The lodge is clean well equipped, it had everything we needed and more. Some nice walks and great views from the top of corndon hill. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway and we will be back soon :)
100% recommending these lodges to family/friends! Can't wait to book our next stay here, the owners couldn't have been more accommodating, nothing was too much trouble, every detail had been thought through, the lodge was all very modern, clean and well equipped, there we a couple of small towns (Montgomery was lovely) and lovely walks and country pubs located close to the lodge which the owner informed us of, the fire pit, hot tub and BBQ were a great added bonus, the views from the lodge were amazing and very peaceful, perfect for a relaxed break in the countryside.
