Thursday, wine and dine night, been three times now with others in town for residential Course. Superb value once again, a lovely three course meal with a whole bottle of wine!
Popped in for lunch after a roof top tour of the old market hall. Everything on my plate was absolutely delicious, my partner thought so too. I had a steak sandwich and chunky chips and my partner had calamari. We scraped the plates clean. Recommend to anyone
Had our works Christmas party here last night .. food was great .. live music and atmosphere was brilliant .. staff were so efficient and made our evening perfect .. well done to all the team
Had a lovley stay over and dinner food was great staff very friendly and helpful we will be back

Fabulous service and amazing breakfast, thank you
Fab place, great atmosphere would certainly visit again
As always beautiful food, helpful staff and a relaxed atmosphere. It was just me and hubby on this occasion but we have been taking our little girl(now six) since she was two and the staff are always brilliant with her,we have done three Christmas Day lunches here and they have been amazing !!! Can't speak highly enough of the place the food and the lovely staff
A very good restaurant well worth a visit!
We was booked into room two as we went through the bar to go upstairs and at the bottom of the stairs were several linen bags partly blocking the fire exit these were still there when we left ,the room was a decent size and the shower was nice ,when we finally went to bed and shut the curtains the room is filled with light which comes from the estate agents on the right in the street we had hardly any sleep they need black out blinds or supply sunglasses!!
On line it looks very nice and possibly some of the rooms are BUT our room 4 was not.
It looked like a spare room for staff to stay overnight.
There were no customers at the bar and we were there Tuesday to Friday. Something was wrong with the setup. We did notice a For Sale/ Let sign up on the outside.
The room was less than basic with no room to walk to the other side of the bed. Bathroom was ok but tap was broken. The room was clean as was the bed . It's location is good but carparking was difficult and the staff we asked were not very helpful in advising us where to go.
A shame all round as it could be really good!!
Shrewsbury however was a gem of a place, very well with a visit with plenty of independent eataries and cafés. Our experience will not stop us visiting again.
Not familiar on their own cocktails list,,,generally dissapointed in the bar service. The bar however is a beautiful place and I will return
Food was good except for the hair I found in my pudding!!!
On line it looks like a coaching inn, with food and accomodation, its NOT!!
It is a bar/restaurant with rooms, possibly some of the rooms are nice our room 5 was not.
The room was less than basic with little room to walk to the other side of the bed. The floor along The bottom of the bed creaking alarmingly (suggest get that checked out structually) The furniture is cheap and in need of replacing. There was an iron and a fan but no hairdryer. To plug kettle in the wire is stretched dangerously to plug.
The bathroom was ok, actually think it was bigger than the bedroom, but no bin,no personal hygiene bin, and superficially cleaned.
The location is good but carparking was difficult and the staff we asked were not very helpful in advising us where to go. The nearest car park is short stay 2hr limit, free from 6pm to 8am. Had to keep topping up every 2hrs @ £3.60 for two hours my advice arrive late.
We didn't eat in so can't comment on food. Also didn't stay for breakfast for two reasons, didn't want to pay anymore parking, and couldn't find a menu.
Myself and my family felt from the moment we walked through the front door that we were a inconvenience. The young man behind the bar did just about enough and put us all on edge... we had planned a night out and to eat there.. there loss, The town is blessed with loads of lovely bars and restaurants don't waist your time walking to Morgan's...
Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. A small piece of paper was thrust at us upon check-in with a door code and emergency # on it. The hotel website, Facebook page and booking (dot) com all said the hotel was open until midnight or 12:30AM. My friends and I went out for the evening and returned at 11:15PM. The entire building was locked leaving no way to get in without said paper. After calling the police, who could not find an emergency contact for the hotel or its owner, and waiting for an hour outside, in the cold, in an unfamiliar city, in the middle of the night, a manager finally showed up to let us in. The next morning, the same manager assured us that if we contacted booking (dot) com they would reimburse the room for the hassle. When booking (dot) com called the hotel they lied about what happened and refused to reimburse us. I have traveled around the world, staying in countless hotels and this was THE WORST experience I've ever had.
Saturday night around 9 30 a group of us turned away from the door, turning down around £100 worth of business at least, good to see a modern business can turn down that sort of money, Loopy Shrew next door more than happy to accommodate us. Won’t be visiting Morgan’s again.
I feel a duty to warn fellow travelers against staying at a place like this:
That awkward moment when you have to CALL THE POLICE to get back into your hotel, with all your bags already inside, because all the lights are off, all the doors are locked and nobody answers the phone after multiple calls, voicemail messages, multiple emails and facebook messages for over an hour. And their site says they're still open as you're standing outside on the street at 11pm knocking on the door and calling. When the police finally contacted the owner through an unlisted number, he eventually sent a manager to let us in, who admitted it's illegal to have the wrong business hours online, then backpedaled and tried to blame us for not reading the tiny print on a random checkin card. He then told us to contact booking (dot) (com) to get a refund, then lied to them about what happened and is trying to fight a refund. So save yourself the nightmare and book somewhere else my friends! This place officially sucks!
