Mothercare at Ventura Park in Tamworth is a fine example of Customer Service at its very best. On Saturday, I returned a car seat due to a minor fault with a clip. I had recently discarded my receipt of purchase. However, the lady who served me traced my purchase by date range on their database. She not only exchanged my seat, but fitted it for us and was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the product. Her manner encouraged me to have a wander round the store, and purchased some goodies for my Grandson. Will always use the store and come on Mothercare..... some air-con.instore would improve shopping experience further. A happy Grandma.

Popped into Mothercare (Tamworth Branch) on Tuesday just after having my first scan. Thought I'd go in on way home as I was desperate to get measured and purchase a maternity bra. Took a while to get someone over to the area to help (there was only one lady manning the tills and couldn't see any staff around so guessing they were short staffed); however the young dark haired lady (sorry didn't get your name) that came to my aid was fab! After sorting me out in regards to being measured etc she engaged in conversation with me and asked all about my pregnancy, gave me a heads up on when all the next sales in store are (there was one on at the present time- but I thought a little early to purchase bigger stuff) and as I'm a first time mom was struggling with where to start! She gave great advice that it's never too early to start buying the smaller things..bibs etc, especially whilst they're on sale. Told me all about the my mothercare scheme which I signed up to. Made me feel so comfortable and a little wiser. So just wanted to give a shout out to her. Thank You!

Had a lovely time, got measured for my nursing bras, she was lovely had to wait a little as she was helping another lady, but I didn't mind! Found everything we needed, however it was a bit confusing over which baby clothes were in the sale or had a discount off, so we didn't buy any as it just said selected lines? How are we supposed to know which selected lines are on offer it wasn't clear!

Came to kit out my 3 kids with shoes. Purchased 4 from clarks inside and 2 from mothercare.

Buying shoes is stressful but I was really disappointed when my husband came over with my 2 year old embarrassed as he couldn't change him as there weren't facilities in the men's.

I took my son to the ladies to find one sink flooded, the other with rubbish in, both hand driers broken and litter on the changing mat.

Buying shoes for my children takes a long time and I was disappointed that Mothercare hadn't provided my husband with the facilities to care for his children without my assistance.

Yesterday I contacted the mothercare helpline regarding a fault with my Graco pushchair, I was told to pop into branch and they would send it away for repair and give me a suitable loan pushchair to use whilst mine was been repaired.

Today I went into branch and was told my pushchair could potentially be away for 28 days but with the bank holiday there was a chance I may not get it back until the beginning of May!!! I didn't really have a choice but to accept this as my pushchair needed repairing.

The assistant went to get me there "best" loan pushchair they had available. Knowing that I had a newborn baby, I was disgusted when she returned with a Chico stroller that was not only filthy dirty but was covered in food and crumbs I was told there was no alternative. I wasn't prepared to put my child in the pushchair so had no choice but to bring away my faulty pushchair.

The pushchair cost almost £600 that has only been used for a few weeks and is now faulty. You would think a company like mothercare would have a better procedure and facilities for these situations. I have contacted the call centre who were completely unhelpful and basically told me there is nothing more they can do!!!

Worst customer service possible!!!

Order a Baby Jacket online to collect from Tamworth store. Delivery date was 11/01/2018 but we didn't receive any confirmation that our order is available for collection. When I tried to call mothercare central helpline number to check it it's available for collection, helpline was playing a recorded message that it is temporary down for unknown reason.

Tried to phone store number to check & spoke to Mellisa. She said that she need 1 hour to check if my order is available for collection in store. 1 Hour just to check??

In this time and age how come anyone need 1 hour just to check in store if order is available for collection.

Very very disappointed!!!

& it's not the 1st time, previously mothercare messed up our other order as well.

Order a baby toy for collection in store and received an email for collection. Upon arrival we were informed that item we order is discontinue and no longer available.

After we showed them that same item is available in store. Staff were trying to prove that it's a different item. But after we show them that it's exactly the same item we order online they reluctantly agree to give that to us.

Worst customer service going, in the past 7 months I have brought 3 strollers from mothercare and all 3 have broken on me after going in to try and get a refund on a £250 stroller that is 2 weeks old! I was told nothing could be done, the manger was so rude and unhelpful again just like on other occasions, another members of staff that was trying to be helpful went to talk to the manager came back and was very rude and walked of mid conversation! Head office also need to understand that there is two sides to every story and maybe read some of the reviews left on there mothercare site to actually understand that some of the staff that work for mothercare are not as perfect as they make out and actually tell lies to cover there own backs!

Well the place is a joke no staff. Went for the "huge" sale lack of stuff in the sale as spent loads money a few mouths ago. Items placed in the sale never had stickers on so didn't no the price no staff about me and my partner need the loo so went guys was smelly and dirty hand dryer hardly worked and the sinks over flowing. My partner said the toilet was a disgrace with no loo roll In one sinks over flowing floor wet and nappie bin overflowing with nappies on the floor. As I was walking around the store I seen a shelf which said new baby to me new baby is 0+ not 3+ 6+ left there feeling disappointed as we wanted to try Tamworth again but wishing we went Derby store instead. Management need a good ass kicking and get that shop into shape.

The staff member I spoke to today refused to look at my car seat as i wanted to check that it was fitted correctly, i purchased it at Mothercare so feel they should have been helpful. I won't be going back to the Tamworth branch for advice. They have been poor in the past on product knowledge and haven't improved on customer service. I will be buying any future products online. Looking at other reviews I feel I'm not the only one in the Tamworth branch to complain about the staff.

User

Shocking, same as the other reviews regarding changing and toilet facilities. For you being a store who provides a service to parents and children. I was disgraced with what I saw in store today.

User

Most unhelpful staff I've ever come across in my life. Asked for some more information and demonstrations on different varieties of pushchairs and prams. Lady says 'I'll grab somebody to help you'.. 20 mins later still waiting. She comes back 'have a play around with it and you'll find out for yourself what it does'.. RIDICULOUS. Will not be coming back, staff couldn't care less.

Me and my husband bought a Perfect Prep machine which is faulty. Came into store and they to refused to exchange as we didn't have proof of purchase. They also refused to check records of email receipt sent and batch number so we could prove purchase. This is an expensive item and customer service was shocking!

I visited the store on Sunday and was disgusted with the baby changing facilities. I wanted to change and feed my four week old son and thought mother care would be the best option however the floors were filthy, the waste disposal bins were overflowing, both sinks were blocked and there was rubbish all over the floors. I will never return to this store. John Lewis and marks and Spencer's baby facilities were spotless.

User

I travelled to mothercare from Birmingham to buy a specific product they had in stock. My son who is almost 4 months old and breast fed was hungry. I asked at tills where the feeding room was and the lady behind the till laughed and said there is a bench in the ladies toilets I could use. The toilets were disgusting and I’m sure no one who works within the store or even an animal would eat their lunch in loo so why expect a baby too! The is disgraceful for a parent and baby store.

User

Got to have the filthiest toilets in the region and they expect women to feed their babies in there! Who puts a couch for women to breastfeed on and a bottle warmer in the toilets? Heaven forbid your baby will need a change too as all this store can offer up is a poop-stained mat, sorry I was the one who threw that on the floor as I didn't have any means to incinerate it. Make sure you have you bumper pack of dettol wipes and gas mask before your expedition into this store. Oh and your hand sanitiser as you won't find any soap either

User

Do not know how Mothercare is still surviving in today's competitive climate. Womens toilets were disgusting again today and not suitable for changing a baby. Besides my wife I heard several women complaining. It was reported but nothing was done. One person on the tills taking furniture orders. 30 people in the queue at the point which I left (not moved 1 place in 20 minutes.) They need to get some retail training and proper store management.

User

Disgusting mothercare, the baby feeding facilities are in the women's toilets which are filthy! no one should be expected to feed there baby in a toilet on a rotten old hard back sofa! Absolutely shocking facilities considering it's a baby shop! Staff are thick Aswel, haven't got a clue what they're doing! think someone at head office needs to read some of the reviews on here and get it sorted! vile scruffy place, wouldn't return!

User

Brought a car seat from here and had a different car to what it was going to be fitted in so we said we didn't want it fitted. We fitted it ourself as I already had one like it and it didn't tighten properly so we wondered what was wrong with it. We took it back up in the right car to get them to look at it. Only for the manager to refuse and cause an argument saying we refused a fitting so there was nothing she could do saying it now wasn't brand new considering we had it for 2 hours. We then said it was already marked and she said we had done it. And she still carried on arguing with us. We didn't even want a refund we just wanted it checked. In the end a nice young lady came and checked it and said we just needed to tighten it more. That's fine thank you!!! That's all we wanted not a argument with a manager who thought she was too high up on the chain to be polite. Won't be going here again!!!

Bag of shit whenever you go in they either don’t have it or it’s not in stock. The ladies working there hardly know anything about the products they are selling and can hardly use them iPads it’s embarrassing!! The manager simply has to spoon feed them all and do their job for them. You order something to be delivered and they send you and item with missing pieces or just not the item at all and you get passed round back and forth to resolve the matter!! If I ever have another child I will not be using mother care again the customer service is terrible considering since being pregnant iv spent a little over 3 thousand pounds in that store and never once just been happy with my customer experience or purchase. Ordered an egg pushchair system over 1,500 and they didn’t even send me my carry cot yet I paid for it. They don’t take complaints seriously and always telly you to ring up mothercare customer service for them to sort and your on hold for 15 minuets before even being spoken to. This mother care needs to fix up its act big time especially since your target audience is pregnant mothers expecting a child and it being a joyful time and you wreck it!!!!
