Art Therapy is a type of psychotherapy that uses creative media as its primary form of communication and is a growing profession within all sectors of education. The Art Therapist’s role is to provide a safe space and facilitate communication of thoughts and feelings through the use of art; this makes Art Therapy beneficial to those who finds it difficult to express themselves verbally as well as young children, communication difficulties and English as a second language.
