We went to Opus last night, we were very impressed. Absolutely fantastic food. The toffee crepe brûlée was especially amazing!

We have been wanting to come here for quite a while and it certainly lived up to expectations. Amazing food and even better hospitality. Alex is a credit to Opus..the night was made with him making conversation with us out of the ordinary "how was the food for you". Would definitely visit again but ensure that Alex is our waiter again because there was something about his presence that made the visit even more worthwhile.

This lovely restaurant is one of my favourites. Always a great welcome from the friendly staff as soon as you enter. We were celebrating my birthday and we had the set menu which was very reasonably priced. All the courses were excellent - compliments to the chef - and the service was good. Would recommend this place especially for a special occasion.

One of my favourite restaurants in Birmingham which I love to visit regularly. A restaurant with great values, talented chefs creating superb seasonal dishes and friendly and attentive front of house staff who always make it a relaxed and pleasurable experience. I also love the supplier inspired dinner series evenings - well worth a try as well. Love this place and all it stands for - I would recommend it to anyone. My wife and I visited Birmingham and wanted to dine in a first class restaurant. The hotel receptionist recommended Opus. The food was excellent as was their wine list. The staff were very well trained. They were most attentive with exemplary service. We don't often find ourselves in Birmingham but when we do we will ensure we visit Opus in Cornwall Street. Last night was our second time at Opus, the first being a couple of years ago. We opted to have the taster menu last night and my husband and I were not disappointed! The food was extremely tasty and the service was great. I think our waiter was possibly quite new but he did great and had lots of support from more senior staff. I would deffinatly recommend Opus and will be back! 😃

I have eaten here quite a few times now and always enjoy the whole experience. There is a warm welcome upon arrival, staff polite and approachable. Food has never disappointed, always beautifully presented too.

I had a great saturday set menu lunch here with a group. The service was quick and the food was well presented and delicious. It would be nice to see more variety of choices within the set menu but no complaints for the food chosen. Will visit again

I celebrated my birthday here on Monday and had a gorgeous meal! The food & service is excellent and I was made to feel special when our plate of petite fores came with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate sauce! Our only small recommendation is that the menu should be clearer, it doesn't tell you all the ingredients that will be included on your plate. Due to this we ordered additional side dishes which we didn't actually need and struggled to eat as we were getting so full!!

I booked a surprise birthday meal for my Husband’s 30th birthday for over 40 people in the private dining room. Everything was perfect... the food, the service, the room, it was how I’d hoped it would be. Emma from the team at Opus was a great help with the arrangements leading up to the evening and the service staff on the evening ensured everything went seamlessly, myself and all of our guests couldn't praise the food and staff enough. Thank you.

Fantastic place. The food was really tasty and outstanding service too. Good choice selection. Hope to visit again sometime. I would recommend OPUS.

We went to this restaurant for a wine tasting event last night braved the snow it was well worth it the food beautiful will be definitely eating here again.

We went here for my birthday meal. The waitress who sat us at the table was a little rude. She got annoyed with my sister for not sitting in the right place.



After waiting what seemed like forever for the drinks menu, (one menu between a table of 11) it then took them ages to ask for our drinks order.



Another waitress who was pouring water was rather splashy and got quite a bit on the table. She also kept knocking my friend with her body parts when she was leaning over to get stuff from the table.



The food took so long to come out.



I witnessed a waiter getting into trouble from the manager. I felt bad for him. It shouldn't have been done in front of guests.



When it came to the bill... they tried to charge everyone for a three course meal when everyone had two.



The service was below standard and I wouldn't recommend this Michelin star restaurant.

Having read everyone’s reviews on here I think that they were having issues last night as what we experienced was nothing like other customers evenings .

We arrived in time for our 8.30 booking and we were welcomed and seated by the front of

House staff . Menus arrived 15 minutes later and we had to ask for a wine list . There were no introductions or a run through of the menu which I would expect for a high end restaurant .

When one of our guests asked about a particular dish , our server couldn’t answer the question .

Our starters arrived at 9.30 .....

By 10pm we were thoroughly fed up , not one member of staff came over to

explain why it was taking so long or to apologise for the delay . We could hear other tables complaining about the length of wait as well .

At this point we decided to leave , I had already been to front of house to ask what was taking so long and was not offered any valid explanation .

This was a birthday celebration that was a disaster from start to finish !

Our observations from that evening were as follows .

There were Plenty of staff but they appeared to not know what they were doing on a busy Saturday night .

Maybe they had kitchen issues ~ this could of been explained when were seated .

We felt that we were a burden and not valued in anyway at all .

No apology was offered at all in why everything was taking so long and what the problems were .

We didn’t pay for what we had consumed but that was the least they could of done for ruining a special occasion for one of our party .
