What a great place to find all sorts of items cheaper than regular shops. There are meat and pie traders, bread and cake stalls, clothing, tools, lamps, cards, plants, toiletries, fresh fish, magazines, paint, flowers, etc, etc. You name it and you can find it at a bargain price. The traders are extremely friendly and some very funny. There is a huge car parking area with a special area dedicated for disabled parking. Just a small stroll into Penkridge town where there are plenty of good pups and cafe's for food and refreshment.

All in all a great place to browse for goods.

User

Well, the Markets is a fabulous venue. The marshals were brilliant, the Scouts put on a fantastic bash at a really really good price (6 of us had a cracking couple of hours for under £50, which is better value than the cinema). The whole air of the place was just great. Well worth the 1 hour drive to get here, even thought there were some venues closer to home.

Travelled the wkend just gone from Sunderland to visit my fellas family in Penkridge.

Unfortunately Jacko wasn't too clever to pop to the market with us so we got there a little late on in the afternoon. Rain, and the lateness of the day , stall holders had packed up or were packing up. The sun came out, and I got a couple bargains. The guy on the DIY stall went a bit further to get my fella his tool bits from his van as they weren't in the shop. Thanks for that. I will definitely be back for another visit to this lovely little market, and will be bringing Jacko with me, as he said he could of got my items a a bargain price.

User

Really enjoyed the children's market today. My little one loved seeing the animals and we came away with some real bargins from the toy stalls. Plenty to do, cant wait for the next one x

User

Brilliant market selling everything you can think of

In these times where very few markets have survived this one is well worth a visit, I go for the plants, there are about 4 stalls, all brilliant value for money

Highly recommend the bank holiday Monday market and car boot. Good Wednesday market and auction too.

User

Went to Penkridge market with my daughter, a week last Wednesday, for the first time in years and was pleasantly surprised that it was as vibrant and varied as I remember it. Just a warning though, to be aware of one of the two stall holders on the fruit and veg stall that was nearest the car park. Due to being unable to juggle everything, we borrowed a couple of the bowls to collect everything we needed before joining the large queue to pay. We were in the process of putting our requirements together when he came over glaring at us and shouting at us in front of everyone. We made the decision to put are proposed purchases down and leave the stall, and that's when he started bellowing abuse at us, accusing us of ruining his display, and told us to f*** off to Asda where we belong!!! We were really shocked and went to another fruit & veg stall in the middle, with two young very pleasant and helpful lads on it, where we spent in excess of £30 between us, so their loss in the end!!

User

Great to see a market still doing well. Good cafe on site for substantial breakfasts complemented by a wide variety of traders from bedding plants to bedding and low cost cakes to pork pies. Could do with starting to offer a more upmarket offer more like a farmers market with free range, local cheeses, artisan breads etc etc

User

Great little market ! Recommendthe cafe for and excellent meal.

We travel down from Blackpool on a regular basis to visit family and we always meet at Penkridge market and spend a fair bit of money on various stalls and meat man etc. We always chill out for half an hour and get a brew with some cake on the indoor stall from the girl with blue highlights in her hair. But after being blatantly ripped off by her this Saturday just gone , even after drawing her attention to the fact that she was overcharging us then we won't be using it again unfortunately. This stall is advertising deals for ANY drink with a sausage roll and cake for £2.90 and then charging you a surplus because you ask for hot chocolate with topping which is clearly on their list of drinks (hence falling under advertising any drink)!! This might seem minor to some people but when you're buying for a big family it all adds up . I don't normally write bad reviews but this girl really wound me up with her attitude and greed !!
