Visited your garden centre today....as always you have a lovely place...lots of plants and garden ornaments..and plenty of interesting items indoors...spent a good half day today...had a lovely scones and tea....bought several plants and ornaments too. We also like that we can bring our little yorkie with us .
We shall visit again soon x
Purchased some turtles and a full set up but didnβt get the best advice from a staff member pre Christmas. Went back in today, Chloe was amazing rectifying our problems. She is extremely knowledgable, kind and helpful. Thank you Chloe the turtles and we really appreciate your help.
Our visit was to buy plants, greenhouse accessories and enjoy breakfast - and everything was top notch. Lovely creamy porridge and the best poached eggs on lovely brown toast. And your clever delivery system meant the food came very quickly. (Suggest fruit or compote to add to porridge :-)
We bought both perennial and bedding plants and were spoilt for choice - the quality was excellent. You can see that you look after your plants and a staff member was trimming some of them whilst someone else was watering. We heard one customer ask for help with choosing plants and the staff member was brilliant, taking time to suggest plants and showing them to her. We got greenhouse sundries and prices we expected to pay. So, thank you, you are clearly working hard to make your garden centre the best in the area and we shall be back, soon. :-)
Love it here, lits for children to do, lovely items on sale and brilliant that we can come shopping with our dogs.
Had an amazing experience today the dogs were spoilt rotten with fuss and treats by the staff.
Thank you so much guys for welcoming out friendly poochies (its nice to find somewhere that loves staffies as much as we do)
Tinxi and buddy are very happy (tired out) customers and we will return with them soon x
Just wanted to say what a fantastic job has been done in the Christmas dept. Looks stunning, well done to Stephen, Mel, Claire and team for all the hard work. Looks amazing. Not sure of the reindeer in the corner though, they are no match to the real thing.
I think this garden centre is great. I can't comment on the restaurant as I didn't use it. The centre was well stocked and I noticed it had the beach again. Along with the play area at least one parent can shop without the kids getting bored. The items they sell are lovely. I will be back shortly to get some goodies for the garden. I have my eye on a few things.
Helpful service and efficient free delivery on garden furniture. There is also a great selection of quality plants and goods. Can definitely give them 5 stars.
We often visit Bretby garden centre, it was really busy yesterday. I've never seen the car park so packed. Garden centre is worth a visit and the gift shop is good too. Loved the craft / food fair, and the ice rink looked impressive compared to some I've seen in similar settings.
We have attended Thursday nights at Bretby from the very first night, it was always full of people, the food was Roast beef dinner with fresh veg, batter pudding lovely roast potatoes, went last night 8/2/2018 the food was chips and something , we could have got better at the chippy at Melbourne, only a few people there so word must got round about the awful menu, this food is not what Bretby night was famous for, it was a proper roast dinner and a hot pudding. .The cooks know what Bretby customers like so let them get on with it .
My grandchildren, daughter and myself came to Ice skate on Sunday and had a wonderful time. Enjoyed some lunch in your cafe and it was lovely. Plant wait for ice skating again next year, hopefully.
It has all changed since I last went it is nice but hard to find things
The restaurant really does need an overhaul! The last few times we have been have been really disappointed - had to wait over half an hour for a sandwich last time and have been today and have run out of most things. The cakes are the cakes we used to have in the eighties and are brought in - not like the nice non mass produced ones that so many other places are doing now. Bretby is so disappointing now compared to what is on offer at planters in tamworth - much better quality food, choice and better presented!! There isn't even a proper coffee machine! It is powdered milk that is used to make latte etc - get a proper machine!!
Nice set up with well looked after plants.
I expect to pay a little more at a Garden centre compared to the sheds, the extra staff and care cost more.
However 17.99 for a 3 litre Cordyline is seriously pushing it.
We left empty handed, went elsewhere and bought one for Β£8.
Bit disappointed kids loved it went to order food and drinks first tills not working then coffee machines down had my money back then they were working redone my order sat waiting for it to come no food arrived .on seeing people arrive after me and getting their food I enquirer my order was lost so after nearly an hour of waiting my food arrived I was offered free drinks as an apology by the young girl which I said not your fault but had to hurry the children with their food then as needed to get them home .so not a very good morning
A good trip was spoilt by the staff in the restaurant, there was a long queue for food and drinks, I was queuing for over 5 minutes before I got to the front. When it was my turn to be served I asked for a bacon cob, only to be told they stopped serving breakfast at 11:30, the time was 11:35, I explained that I had been queuing for over 5 minutes unfortunately the staff wouldn't take into account my queuing time, I wasn't asking for a full breakfast or more than one item, it was a very cold day and wanted something not not heavy, very disappointed
The ice skating was very good but the restaurant is vastly overpriced how can anyone justify Β£5.99 for a cheese and ham cob? The queue was disorganised and the lady that pointed out that we were queuing the wrong way had the customer care skills of an S.S. Officer. Our total bill was over Β£40, I can assure you that we shall not use the restaurant again as it is a total rip off.
Excellent cappuccino... shame about the dog birthday cakes which are mouldy!!! I took 2 of them to the till last time i came in and a staff member looked at them and left them, then today when i went in they were both back on the shelf disgusting!!! They are both opened and on the floor now so hopefully staff will chuck them away
A great garden centre. But please don't try to sell reptiles when you clearly have no idea about keeping them. All the cages had poor lighting and wrong substrates. And the food provided was not only inadequate but mouldy which suggests you don't do regular checks
Visited you on Friday the 13th as my Mum. Choose to come here for her birthday lunch as normally you are very good with great food and staff. However this time it was appalling service with grumpy staff wearing filthy aprons, waited 45 minuets for food, which was a total disappointment, The milk for the tea was going off my daughters potato faces were black. The handle on the tea pot was chipped and get sharp Mum nearly cut herself on it ..... definitely not the birthday lunch she was after ...
