President, Steam Narrowboat

President is owned by the Black Country Living Museum. The group "Friends of President" both operated and preserved the boat on behalf of the museum. President was built in 1909 at the Fellows, Morton and Clayton company dock at Saltley, Birmingham.

President was built 1909 for Fellows, Morten and Clayton, the company built and operated 31 steam narrow boats between 1889 and 1931.
President was restored in 1973 and eventually bought by the Black Country Living Museum in January 1983, Kildare was bought in September 1991.
The museum is assisted in maintaining and operating the boat by the "Friends of President".
