During these very difficult times, we wanted to keep you advised on the procedures our engineers have put in place to protect both yourself and them:
... *You are asked to advise us at your earliest opportunity if you or anyone in your house is either self-isolating, displaying any of the coronavirus symptoms, or on the vulnerable list. *All items must be cleared from the area where the engineer will be working, the area must be cleaned as much as possible. *Customers must be in a separate room to where the engineer will be working. *Engineers will be wearing a face mask and gloves on arrival. *We will also carry out our own clean once the job is complete *Payments must be made using online banking, cash or cheques are not currently being accepted.

The landlord of this fire had been employing a gas engineer to 'service' this gas appliance. Its clear that this hasn't been cleaned or serviced properly for a number of years and is at risk of causing Carbon Monoxide Poisoning.
Our Gas Safe Qualified engineers stripped the fire, cleaned it, cleaned the catchment space of debris, carry out a smoke test and laid the coals back in the correct positions. It was then checked again for carbon monoxide and was then safe to use.
If... you are a tenant or a homeowner, alway quiz the engineer to make sure they are thorough and always ask for a Gas Safety Certificate on completion.

Really unpleasant to look at but this is what happens when you pour fat down your drain or flush wet wipes down the toilet. Drains get blocked and will cost you money to clear! Instead of pouring fat down the drain, why not pour into a glass jar and dispose of into the bin?
