Prestwood Pet Crematorium

Here is some interesting info about the different bands you may see on guide dogs. We’ve learnt something new today.

Remembering all of the service animals that have given their lives so that we have the freedom we do today. 💜

This was a great event we attended last weekend. Prestwood Pet Crematorium have been members of the APPC since we opened always adhering to the very high standards set.

The cats protection have written this great article for cat owners (but it applies to all pet owners) for helping to cope with the grief of losing a pet. They also have a helpline you can call if you want to talk to someone about it. The blue cross also have a help line. We often get asked about this so thought we’d share the article in the hope it will help grieving pet owners.

Our own staff are always allowed time off following the loss of a pet if they want it, as we know how difficult losing a pet is.

Bex and family recently contacted us when they lost their beloved little westie Jack. They asked us to scatter Jacks ashes at the crematorium so he could be with lots of other dogs and make friends, which he loved to do. Here’s the family’s favourite photo of Jack.

We would like to apologise for anyone struggling to get in contact with us this afternoon, unfortunately our phone lines were damaged in the storm over the weekend. BT engineers have been with us most of the day and are hoping to have the lines up and running by tomorrow.

This is a lovely video that Dignipets who we work with have just posted. We thought we'd share it too.

We recently collected Mia for her family and they have just sent us a lovely picture fo her. They also decided that they needed to see her again before her cremation. This is something we can arrange for owners especially if they feel that haven't been able to say goodbye properly. Below is the message we received along with her picture.
"I just want to say a huge thank you to you all. My beloved Mia passed away on 11.04.18 I came to see her on 16.04.18 I was overwhelmed at h...ow peaceful she looked in the kennel of rest it was absolutely beautiful what you had done. I was nervous as to what to expect having bad past experiences at other pet places. I would highly recommend your services. I know my beloved girly is at peace now and you have her the dignity and respect she deserved and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart."

We’ve just had a lovely message from Emma along with a picture of her cat Rigby who sadly passed away, so we thought we’d share them with you.
I just want to say a huge thank you to jack & the team at Prestwood today for the exceptional service. I am so grateful to you for looking after Rigby & enabling me to bring him home tonight. You have made what has been a very stressful & emotional time a little more bearable having him home with us so soon. We still can’t believe our boy has been taken from us so young & suddenly. Run free over rainbow bridge our beautiful boy🐱💙💔

This week we unfortunately had to help the Hadlington family with their dog Roxy. They sent us these lovely photos of Roxy, one of which is with Roxy’s best friend Tyler.

Unfortunately we recently had to help Janice with her much loved cat Simba. She sent us this lovely picture of him which we wanted to share as a lovely memorial to him. When Janice came down to us she also met one of our own cats, Remy, who bears a striking resemblance to Simba.

Unfortunately we recently had to help Tracie and family with their beloved dog Wilma. Tracie just sent us these lovely photos and memories of Wilma in happier times so we thought we’d share them.

We recently had to help the Banks family with their beloved West highland terrier Kia. Clare has just sent us this lovely video she's made of memories they treasure with Kia and her family.

What can I say apart from a huge Thank you we can't praise you up enough for the professionalism we received from Jack after loosing our beautiful Cavalier King Charles Poppy, its been one of the saddest times of our lives but you made the last few days a lot more bearable thank you from the bottom of our hearts �

We sadly had to say goodnight to our beloved Rosie on Sunday which was totally heartbreaking, leaving her at the vets was the hardest thing I have ever done. When the wonderful people from prestwood collected her they treated her with up most respect. When we visited her in the kennel of rest today she looked absolutely beautiful, at peace and most importantly like my baby girl when she was well not how we'd had to say goodbye to her for that final time and for that I will be eternally grateful to them. My heart feels a little lass heavy now that she's back home were she belongs. Thank you once again from the bottom of my Heart xx

We lost our dear 10 year old bunny on Monday after a short but distressing illness. I wanted to say a huge Thank you for the care and kindness you showed towards myself and my girls. April was a very special house rabbit and the loss of her leaves a big hole in our lives and our house. Prestwood Pet Crematorium is a very special place and a sanctuary to those who have lost dear furry friends.

I wish I could remember the lovely man who provided comfort and understanding at this most difficult time. Thank you so much Love Lesley, Dave, Holly and Sophie Mortimer Waith

We have used Prestwood twice before and had to call on their services again on Sunday. As always, a professional, caring and thoughtful service. Even though it was very early on a Sunday morning when they were officially closed nothing was too much trouble and it made it easier to cope with the loss of our 20 year old collie cross Xena. We have moved house since last using Prestwood but still made the 60 mile round trip this time as I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. Highly recommended and thank you again.

These guys are amazing and it's such a lovely and serene place. They were really respectful and didn't rush anything.

They took a fur clipping and did a paw print, which means so much to me.

Also very fairly priced.

The the lovely man who came to pick up my beautiful boy rudi today, you were wonderful and didn’t make me feel silly for crying. You let me have as much time as I needed with him and spoke to me so kindly at such a helpless time.

She was very much loved and had a fabulous personality and although some people may think they are just rodents she was part of the family and I was devastated at her passing. I had adopted her only just over a year ago and thought we would have more time together. Always make time for your loved pet, you never know how long you have together. Prestwood are absolutely fantastic and even if I lived in Scotland would drive back to use them. Thank you so much again.

Thank you so much for the personal and caring way in which you helped us after the loss of our beloved old boy Jack. He had recently been so poorly, but when we saw him in the kennel of rest, so beautifully looked after, it was as though the years had been rolled back and he was a young dog again. This memory will stay with us forever, and eases our aching hearts a little. Thank you for the wonderful service that you provide x

I'd like to thank Prestwood for making a very difficult time with the sudden loss of my beloved guinea pig Tom "Mr. Flappy" that little bit easier.

They treated him with respect and the kennel of rest was lovely, he looked ever so peaceful.

His little paw prints were perfect, as was the fur clipping, where they thoughtfully took some of his white belly fur as well as his usual coat- which I'd never of thought of myself.

I'd completely forgotten to ask if he could have the bell pepper (his favourite food) in with him, and as it had been with him they knew that's what I wanted.

The grounds of the crematorium are also very tranquil and helped put my mind at ease.

Thankyou again for a very positive experience amongst the sadness.

I just wanted to express our thanks to you for providing us with a lovely, personal service after losing our beloved Cocker Spaniel, Beth who sadly passed away on 26th Sept 2017 at the grand old age of 15. The way in which we left her with you and that beautiful, peaceful memory of her asleep will stay with us forever. Run free over Rainbow Bridge my beautiful fur baby we love you so much and you will be dearly missed, but forever in our hearts.



We collected Beth's ashes yesterday and it is of great comfort that she is back home with us.

I have visited Prestwood 3 times now and every time i have left knowing that my pets are being treated with respect and dignity. The young guy in the office is one of the nicest people you could wish to meet. I would not take my pets anywhere else.

I didn't feel up to posting at the time but back in November, my beloved Chinese Hamster "Willow" passed away and you were so lovely about everything. It didn't matter that she was a tiny hamster, you were so lovely and thoughtful and supportive with the whole process. none of it felt rushed and I was able to have her back home the following day. You made it possible for me to have my special little one with me always. Thank you so much :)

I cannot thank you enough for treating our boy max with the dignity he deserves. Never once have we felt silly for being so upset at losing a family member, and we were given the time and patience to spend with our boy. Thank you so so much for making a difficult time the easiest it could be xx
