Many of our jobs come from poor maintenance of your doors and windows through damaged locks and closing mechanisms.
... This is what happens.
Your doors or windows don't close nice and smoothly like they used to when you first had them installed.
Instead of getting them adjusted to close nicely as they should keep them as they are. You bang them shut in the hope that they will be smoother the next time you go to close them.
This doesn't happen and over time they get worse. You try and lift your handle up to lock the door and you can feel it catching. It is catching because your door may have dropped or needs adjusting to get it back to the correct positioning. Once this has been done then there is less chance of you needing to force it to be locked.
The usual issues that occur if you leave this is the key begins to get more difficult to turn and you put additional pressure on the locking barrel and mechanism in the door. Yes the main barrel that gives you entry into your property. This not only happens with doors but also windows. Locks get damaged and windows and doors can over time become insecure. Once the barrel is damaged then unfortunately you have to get new barrels which costs alot more that maintenance.

We will check these are working correctly and if needed we can make minor adjustments to help prevent the above from happening. We will lubricate dry old locks/hinges where necessary and give advice for future maintenance.
