Went to fair yesterday and some lovely people and met kirsty and liz who are so Down to earth amazing, as for ragley hall it self it's a beautiful home lived in and loved and the history is lovely to learn about I will be visiting may more times in the future please don't change

User

Used to come here years ago when the children were small not been for a few years, came for the battle proms yesterday and had the most amazing time, very well organised in beautiful grounds, will be bringing the grandchildren very soon

User

Just returned from a brilliant time at Ragley Hall's Frost Fayre. The event was really well organised. Lots of things going on with Carol singers, Santa's grotto, food & drink aplenty (something for everyone) & lots of specialist craft stalls. Everyone was really friendly & the prices were very reasonable. We even booked a holiday! So much to see & do & the smells were wonderful. We tried lots of samples of food such as game & venison pie, fudge & of course we just had to have an obligatory mulled wine to warm up. Will definitely be returning.

User

I took my daughter and 2 grandchildren to see "Billionaire Boy" in the round. Fabulous show, enjoyed by all, compared very well with "Gangsta Granny" at the Garrick but much cheaper!

I agree with comments about the Battle Proms.

Excellent organisation on both occasions.

Good to be able to picnic so didn't need to use catering facilities, plenty of bins for litter and clean toilets.

User

I loved the building and the gardens today! The whole ground looked amazing and so peaceful...it's worth leaving early to get there first when there are not many people about as you can enjoy the place and pretend it's your own garden ;). The guided tour was great and Debbie was brilliant: funny and informative. My favourite room was the last one! I will go back again!

I first visited Ragley 45 years ago approximately to attend Lord Hertford's daughters birthday party along with other children from Alcester Infants where Ann was a pupil . The adventure playground was new and we had the run of the place with Lord Hertford supervising it was the most wonderful afternoon and I've never forgotten it. Every review post March is upset about the cessation of the season passes which is such a shame as Ragley has always been such a big part of Alcester community . Would the family please reconsider this decision the new offer is not good value for money. I appreciate how much it costs to upkeep somewhere like Ragley so why don't you simply continue with the season passes with a price increase. That way your customers are able to plan their leisure budgets in a far more consistent way. With best wishes a Ragley Fan xx

User

Had a fantastic day at Ragley with seven children ranging from 14 years old to 2. The space is just perfect - back to nature but with enough activities to keep them fully occupied. A great choice for a mixed group of adults and kids - bring a picnic, blanket and some ball games!

User

Attending the Candlelite tour and dinner in the Red Saloon last night. Wonderful Xmas experience. We were greeted with warm minced pies, mulled wine and a choir performance. Then we had a tour around the house that was lite by candles and decorated reading for Xmas, ended the evening with a lovely three course dinner. We had a great evening thank you.

User

We visited for Battle night proms, it was very well organised and a very good night, catering for the large crowd, however the screen could have been higher as we had a very selfish family of 15 who could not sit still and 3 of the children were so badly behaved and one of the babies cried for a lot of the early part of the evening that we found it difficult to follow on screen. Most people by us thought the same! The orchestra was amazing and the fireworks brilliant

User

Whilst sir Tom was outstanding and the setting was beautiful,if you are going to host concerts you really need to sort your exits out!.it was shambolic at best last night getting out.so much so that we have tickets for madness tonight and are considering not going

User

We were really looking forward to visiting but with a 1yr, 5 yr old and 7 yr old we realised it was once there that it was only possible to view the house by joining a guided tour. With young children this is not ideal and wouldn't want to ruin others experience by forcing my children to stand and be bored for that length of time. If we had been able to view ourselves we could keep moving and enjoy the house ourselves whilst keeping our children's attention and enjoyment too. Because of this it was just a very expensive trip to an adventure playground!! The cafe next to this was poor with only cold sausage rolls, crisps and ice creams. I understand there is a cafe up at the house we weren't able to view so weren't going back that side again! A disappointing day after anticipating a great one!

User

We had a brilliant time at the fireworks. We arrived at 4.50pm and only queued for a short time and parked close to the fair.

The food and fair were expensive but we expected to pay at a night like this. It was on par price wise to the Mop Fair in Stratford. The food was average and we didn't have to queue at about 5.30pm

The toilets were not signposted and we spent some time looking for them but a marshal was able to direct us when we asked.

There were exposed cables on the ground on which I fell over and hurt my wrist. There should have been something to mark their positioning to stop this from happening.

We did find that by 7pm we were killing time. There needed to be more stalls to look round, something else to do or make the night an hour shorter.

The fireworks themselves were beautiful and well choreographed. It was a shame that the music wasn't quite loud enough but it didn't take away from the overall effect.

The car park was quite chaotic but we found ourselves able to exit within 15 minutes which I thought was pretty good for an event of this size. There were marshals controlling the traffic and allowing different lanes to go in turn. Maybe we just got lucky?

All in all a great night!

User

The hall was a nice place to see but we was there for the classic car show and it cost £14 each not £14 a car and we went on the Monday not many cars so spent most of the time in the hall drinking coffee felt it was a bit dear for what was on show

User

The hall is architecturally magnificent and you can wander around the ground floor rooms and soak in the ambiance and grandeur. However, there is scant information on the rooms and the hall itself available and it would be interesting to know the back story on the history of the Hall and some of it's inhabitants over the generations as I am sure they have interesting stories to tell.

User

Beautiful gardens and great adventure playground. Not too impressed to learn that we couldn't walk around the house at our own speed and had to have an hour long guided tour (with two young children) after we had paid £33 to get in. Perhaps this needs to be made clear when you pay at the gate?

User

Arrived at around 5:15pm for the Halloween and Fireworks event on 28th.

Waited a short while to be able to park the car.

We were quite close to the entrance of the fairground.

The fair was very overpriced (I'd normally expect to pay a bit) but it was far too costly for what was on offer!! Even the stalls were quite boring. I think wristbands would have been better for people with pre-bought tickets and the stalls to be slightly cheaper.

The kids enjoyed themselves though. Firework display was very good.

It wpuld rate the night as 6/10

User

We attended the Christmas Frost fair at the weekend, & regret to say have never been so disappointed in any event. Between our party we paid £45 to, in effect go to a Christmas craft market which you can visit free in lots of places this time of year. The claim of choirs, roving musicians & magicians were completely false. There was nothing provided for free at all, there was not even a Christmas tree or any decorations. You could visit Santa at a further cost of £8 per child. It cost us in excess of another £24 to buy a drink each. I cannot stress enough what a rip off & let down this event this was.

User

No more family season pass? Really disappointed at this decision. We are an era in which it is crucial for such places to be affordable to ALL, so that younger generations are exposed to places like Ragley hall to ensure they are not neglected in the future as technology and modern design takes over every aspect of life. It is clear Ragley management sought no public feedback before making this decision and as a result many families will suffer.

User

I was really disappointed. The website said dogs welcome apart from in the hall & formal gardens however it is not clear that this practically leaves you access to the field st the back & that's it.

It was also the same price as visiting the hall as well. Tickets should be cheaper for those visiting the grounds only & dogs should be aloud in the gardens as long as they are on leads & people clean up any mess.
