We had a lovely sunny walk at the lake on sunday. The sun stayed out for the picnic although we got a bit wet on the walk back which added to the fun ! You can park for free on the main road. We might hire a rowing boat next time !

We always love to come walking here with my daughter and puppy. Today we went to get her a Ice cream and they where just closing but they told my daughter to go ahead and pick one. Amazing. Once agin they put the shutter down and a family came along wanting a ice cream and the lad Sam unlocked the shop again to Serve them. They had all clearly been working all day but not one of them pulled there face and passed comment. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Thank you x

One of our local walking spots and always enjoy. Recent visit was with my local toddler walking group in the May holidays. I have four boys and the group had booked the trip boat Honey for an extra treat. Quite a bit of a worry for me as two of my boys are under 2, so took nanna along for an extra pair of hands. I needn't of worried at all, absolutely fantastic I think his name was Roy who sailed the boat, he told the children stories kept them entertained, handed out sweets, wasn't worried when one child wanted to swap seats, I actually enjoyed it and felt I could relax. He was brilliant the trip was brilliant. It was around half an hour so perfect length for children great price will definitely be going again .

Love this walk, beautiful scenery whatever the weather. Rewarded with a Mother duck taking eight little ducklings for a swim on the lake, so sweet. A heron flying off from the lakeside near where we were watching the ducklings and the gorgeous blossom on the trees. Plus husband and daughter by my side, what more can a girl ask for.

It's a great place for kids .the little train station and trains are wonderful. And you can buy a nice hot cup of tea or coffee. Rudyard lake is so lovely . and there is a lovely walk to the lake or a nice ride on the little train

User

I may have loved my experience there but I think £10 for half an hour on a boat is alot to ask, especially when there's a big lake to explore and then to make me feel like a cheap skate just for asking a simple question I feel is down right dispicable in my books. All in all an absolutely brilliant day ill just have to hit the atm a bit harder next time :)

User

Great morning, train ride down to the dam and then a stroll with our 11 month old and 2 year old to the lake. Bit of a snack and an ice cream! All helped by the beautiful weather too

User

Great circular walk (mainly on the flat) which is about 6m in total with a nice picnic area at the end before you get back to the car park. Great for walking the dog.

User

First visit since my dad took me there 45 years ago, it was just as i remembered all those years ago and this time old enough for a pint with the carvery sat in the sun outside the Rudyard Hotel, the perfect day out.

User

First time here and what a lovely place. Could'nt resist the miniature steam railway, it runs alongside the lake with great views of the wildlife. Nice to see so many families enjoying the walks and picnics, cafe at the station handy for a brew and very reasonable. Didn't get across to the visitor centre but there's a cafe there as well. Great place for boating, sailing and fishing.

User

Big "Thank you" to Kerry and the team at Rudyard for taking such good care of our church (Milton Baptist) group tonight! We enjoyed an excellent meal and were very grateful for the efforts of all the staff on our behalf.

A great place to visit for all the family. with great fishing, boating, walks and a steam train what's not to like? Reasonably priced cafe is also a bonus.

User

A fantastic day out sett in glorious Staffordshire countryside.

Cheap parking spotless toilets and friendly staff and volunteers.

I would recommend a visit and enjoy the experience.

User

Nice place for a walk, love the railway and they offer half hour rentals of boats for £10! Nice little cafe too. Remember cash for car park and cafe.

User

Lovely place really enjoyed the scenic walk just a shame the cafe wasn’t open for a nice hot drink.

User

Great place just wish it had a few more dog bins as I only found one at the beginning of the walk., so had to carry the poo bags all the way around

User

Changed a lot over the years the only thing that needs to be done is the road down to the lake and the small car park

User

What a beautiful walk ... Really recommend ... But such a shame our planned lunch at the lake cafe was aborted as it was not open. This is reflected in the rating ... The view and walk is 5* .... We will return later in the summer to enjoy the view with coffee and cake and lunch after our walk.
