What a fantastic night.

Piling in to the car to travel the country in the quest to find soul music to dance to.

The laughs with friends who welcome you in to their home.

The sound system belting out the tunes as you walk in to the Benn Hall.

The darkness.

The purchase of a soul patch.

The whole #soulteam running to the floor for the Don & Ron.

Chapter Five.

Hamilton Movement. The list is endless.

Mr Rimmer growling at us that we're brilliant.

The Drifter.

The lights coming on.

Carrying on with the dancing.

Exhausted.

The journey home and singing with Timi Yuro at the top of your voice.

The need for a pint back in your local afterwards.

That's the Rugby All-Nighter. Love.

User

What a fantastic night we had. From the moment we paid in until we left. We’ll definitely be back for more.

User

We have been going to rugby quite for a number of years . Before it was a nighter , and was originally a great soul nite. I and Woody ( posh that init ) have had the utmost pleasure to grace the decks in both rooms.

What always struck me from the start is the fact that not only has it got one of the best dance floors & record bar , is the welcome you get from the hosts. They make you feel welcome and they make you feel wanted , they make you feel special and appreciated that you made the effort to go. They include you in the loop. This then manifests into creating a great atmosphere , a place to be , a place to let your soul be unleashed , to dance to be leaving the everyday stuff behind and really let your hair down , we have made & met many good good friends at rugby , some will be and are lifelong. Some have passed.

I think the pinnacle for us, was holding mine & woodys , col& gayes joint Ruby wedding anniversary shindig. That was an absolute stonker of a night.

That back room was rammed at certain points in the night.

Musically there's something for everyone. With two rooms there's always another DJ to hear , and from R&B to stomping 60t, s rare underplayed old favourites, modern what's not to like , I think everything is covered , at some point in the night. .

We have so many laughs so many good times , so many memories which I will treasure ( God bless )

So there you go , why we love rugby , why we go , and why you should too, long may it continue.

Mrs Mrs soul.

A brilliant dance floor in both rooms. The hosts are so friendly and they go out of their way to ensure everything is just perfect for everyone.

The music that is played is just superb ...

Nowhere better if you love across the board soul music, meeting like minded souls at one of the best venues I've ever frequented. It's a must for any soul fan,you gotta try it.

My first rugby all nighter last night and straight away it became my favourite all nighter venue! Great music, djs, dancefloor and vibe! Thankyou to Dave and Sian for a top night! Can't wait until the next one

Last nights tunes spun at Rugby Allnighter's 14th Anniversary...

An excellent niter, my favourite in the country right now, which just seems to get better and better... And was proved last night by the largest ever attendance some 14 years down the line. Thanks for 14 years of effort Sian & Dean and of course Dave Trigger and well done! XX

If you want, soul patches, baggy trousers, dance comps and top 500 this is not for you. If however you want the beating heart of the U.K rare soul scene with the friendliest crowd who are open minded this must be the place, recommended !

User

I often holiday in Warwickshire, and on one occasion I was over for a wedding.

The reception was, in my uncle Ben's Hall, but I happened to misread the invitation and ended up at The Benn Hall.

Imagine my delight when I wandered in and was met by perfect strangers playing wonderful music.

Seriously Soulful, non pretentious, encompasses all that is the ethos of how the Soul Scene should be.

User

I nearly didn't come. I had such a bad cold and cough all week. So glad I made the effort. Danced my ass off. Some great sets. Some nostalgic. (Adam) some current (Uncle Ted) and some futuristic (Chris). Overall everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. If I had been well I'd have gone to Blackpool. Glad I was ill then. Every cloud..........

User

Great music good people lots of love ,and taking friends on a wild goose chase around rugby trying to find the promoters house,

User

Fantastic night last night at Rugby Allnighter- well worth the 3+ hours drive! Great to hear underplayed gems and new (to me at least) spins in the Freestyle room, as well as enjoying that lovely dancefloor in the Main room.

A mention for the bar staff- prompt, friendly service which really lubricates the workings of a great all nighter!

Many thanks to Sian for your hospitality, I'll def see you at the next one again- I must sleep next time though, dreadful journey home today!!X

User

Excellent venue, fab dance floor and great company.

Evolution and progression, two words that many consider essential to the furtherance of the northern soul scene. Having been at the first anniversary of Rugby 14 years ago, I think it was clear then, that Sian (Dave Trigger) and Dean had a vision for this event, and I realise it smacks of cliché, but for me it fits perfectly so I make no apologies for saying it.

Last night the aforementioned 14 years on, I think everybody in both rooms had completely brought into the promoters initial philosophy. Two or three hours had passed, and I was taking everything in, and recognised that something was nagging away at the back of my mind, I knew it wasn't a bad thing, but it took me a few minutes to identify it. It turned out to be what I see as something unique to Rugby. Trust! Let me explain, lots of venues rely on a tried and trusted format, and play somewhat on the safe side with playlists. Result, people dancing. Rugby happily tinkers with the tempos and styles in the main and side room, unknown tracks mix with classics, underplayed, and this is where the trust comes in, it goes unquestioned by the punters. They dance to what is put in front of them, clearly believing in the DJs taste and choice of tracks. This has a knock on effect, as a DJ who sees an eager crowd filling the dance floor is much more inclined to experimentation. Remember at the beginning, evolution and progression? Here you can witness the two elements working in tandem. And that is Rugby's uniqueness, punters and DJs have a synchronicity that has to be admired.

The format is incredibly refreshing once you're used to it, the not knowing what's coming next just takes everything up a gear.

It's a fabulous nighter, insert your own superlatives they'll all fit, and once you've been 2 or 3 times you'll fit to.

User

Brilliant allnighter soul dos, friendly place, never any trouble, great dancefloor, top people who run the do

User

Best all nighter on this planet.. if you're into the baggie trousers and top 500 all night this isn't the place for you!
