Well done to all our staff at the Hospital of St Cross, which has again received a 'Good' rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The hospital's ratings for a number of services have also improved since the CQC inspectors last visited in 2015. 👏👏👏👏👏
A team of inspectors visited St Cross in May 2018. The CQC's report out today praises the hospital in Rugby for its safe, responsive and effective services, and the care that our staff at the hospital give to patients!...
Almost all the ratings across UHCW University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire have improved or been maintained since the last inspection in April 2015.

Our CEO Andy Hardy had an extra special delivery this week from local schoolchildren in Rugby.
We got sent a big postbag of lovely cards from year 3 at Boughton-Leigh Junior School to mark the NHS' 70th birthday.
One child wrote "Thank you for making the world a better place and thank you for making people better" 🎉, and others wrote about the care our staff had given to them and their families.
... We're sharing pictures of all these lovely cards 📜with heartwarming ❤️messages with our staff and they'll also be on display at the Hospital St Cross🏥.

Oiwen, Shelia and Tricia have being taking part in our efforts to end PJ paralysis. Encouraged by staff in Mulberry Ward at the Hospital of St Cross Hospital they have been getting up and moving. As part of this programme they have been eating their meals at the table together and as a result the three have become fast friends.
Research has shown that wearing your own clothes in hospital helps to reinforce the feeling that you are getting better and can aid a speedy recovery.... Our staff have really taken these findings to heart and we have been encouraging patients to get dressed and moving whenever they can.
UHCW has been part of the largest ever national campaign to get patients up, dressed in their own clothes, and moving to boost their recovery. The 70 day challenge ended on the NHS’ birthday on Thursday however our passion for getting patients up, dressed and moving hasn’t waned and our staff our more enthusiastic than ever! You can help us too, if you have a friend or relative in one of our hospitals please make sure that they have their own clothes to wear. #endpjparalysis #NHS70 #ProudUHCW

We’ve being looking in our archives and we have found this gem from 70 years ago, it was taken at the Hospital of St Cross 🏥 just one day after the NHS was formed, on 6 July 1948. This photo is of the committee of management.
We are so proud of the amazing history of this hospital and we know the people of Rugby are too!
