About Saffrons Bistro

Started back in 1995 by Nick & Chrissy Hunt, Saffrons Bistro has remained a firm favourite amongst Worcester residents and visitors alike.

Saffrons Bistro Description

Saffrons Bistro is known for three main reasons.
A relaxed, inviting and laid-back atmosphere and service style.
A great selection of music from spanning many decades, with favourites from the 60's and 70's.
And of course unpretentious, wholesome, tasty food.

But what is Saffrons Bistro less known for?
How about our intimate bar area upstairs? Perfect for a pre-dinner drink or post-dinner liqueur coffee.
Our large (and growing) selection of gins? We love gin and with now nearly 20 different gins to try from why not come and have a special G& T as an aperitif?
Our party room? Catering parties of up to 26 it is the ideal area to hold a meeting or throw a party for that special occasion.
Our great value-for-money Prix Fixe lunch and early evening menu? With 2 courses starting at £13 it is perfect for those looking after the purse strings or those after a quick bite to eat before the cinema or theatre in the evening.

Amazing what you come across when you have a clear out! Just found our first ever menu from way back in September 1995! Those were the days!! For a bit of fun whoever can guess the price of a bottle of our house wine first wins a £30 voucher! (Drinks are on the back) Only one guess per person and as a clue it's slightly cheaper than our current price 😉

We had lunch here today . The food was delicious and great value ( prix fixe menu) atmosphere and service pleasant and attentive. .... just wished we lived closer as I would like to try some of the 60 plus Gins on offer in the upstairs bar area. A good excuse to return to Worcester

User

We attended the Gin Tasting which was absolutely brilliant - very well managed and staff extremely attentive and knowledgeable - great value for money. We then followed up with a meal in the restaurant which was also amazing - I had snails followed by dressed crab - both excellently cooked and delicious. Can not rate highly enough if you have never been you must - thank you to all the staff for making a special evening extra special.

User

Stopped on spec here while driving home via Worcester. Nice atmosphere, tables well spaced, very polite and welcoming FOH and staff. Nice tapenade and bread with the table, menu not overfilled, starters of grilled squid and marinated pigeon breast were lovely. Mains - gnocchi were very good, I had a swordfish steak encrusted with sesame, don't think the flavour worked that well but the accompanying noodles and pak Choi were very good. Overall a very nice bistro worth the visit and well priced

User

Stopped off to try some of the huge variety of gins on offer - lovely warm welcome - literally couldn’t do enough for us. Highly recommend

User

Simply Brilliant night, celebrating my Father in laws 70th.

Personal waitress Rachael was wonderful with so much attention to detail and the food and overall service was fantastic. This is no fluke, having eaten before at this Bistro but to be so attentive to a larger group of eleven of us this is more difficult indeed. Thank you to all the staff who helped make this family event special and memorable.

User

Popped in here as I like to treat myself to some good food once a week, I was not disappointed, Paige l believe was my waitress, she was attentive and informative advising me regards my menu choice, the med rare duck came out in good time and tasted amazing, I could not fault it in any way.I was pleasantly surprised by the price having ordered a carafe of red. highly recommend to dine here

User

My wife and I ate here a couple of nights ago and absolutely loved it! Nice friendly welcome upon entering and got a nice secluded table as we didn't want to sit in the window.

We had the steak and wine offer and can honestly say it was the best steak I've ever eaten at any restaurant! Seasoned beautifully and rare cooked to perfection (too many places are scared to cook rare steak properly!). The chips were also very well cooked and tasted fantastic, and a good amount of salad on the side as well! The wine was great, and complimentary water was definitely very much appreciated!

For pudding we had an ice cream sundae with hot chocolate fudge sauce between us, and this was also amazing! By the end we were pouring fudge sauce onto a spoon and just eating it on its own!

The staff were all super friendly and made us feel very welcome. All in all, a brilliant dining experience and we look forward to coming back soon!

User

My husband and I ate here on Tuesday evening. We both had rib eye steak with new potatoes and vegetables. Steaks were cooked perfectly and extremely good. Vegetables were plentiful and delicious. My spiced panna cotta was light and very tasty and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the cheesecake. We had a bottle of a very pleasant Cabernet Shiraz to accompany the meal. At £50 for the meal and wine we thought it was amazing value and only wish we didn’t live nearly three hours away! Staff and atmosphere further enhanced a lovely evening. If we’re ever in Worcester again we would most definitely return to Saffrons.

User

Local and independent, great restaurant. We invented a new shot too! Good service, fabulous food and lovely atmosphere

User

Excellent taste in all the food, from starters to main, great service from the owners and stuff. We went to the gin tasting, very nice, since you get to know different ones, and have a new range to choose from, apart from the common commercial ones!

User

Excellent service, fantastic food and great tips on choosing wine. A lovely venue for our anniversary - highly recommended

User

Excellent food as always, it's our favourite restaurant in Worcester, the food is always good and service is superb. They even answer the phone and you get to speak to someone, which makes all the difference when booking a table!

User

Booked a table for Tuesday and unfortunately had to change the booking at short-notice to Thursday, but Saffrons were more than accommodating - Thursday arrived for are chosen time and until we left Saffrons at approximately 9:40pm the service (as usual) was just superb, staff very welcoming, accommodating but not overbearing, and the food was it's usual excellent quality.

I did for the first time ever had a very quiet word with our waiter when paying the bill at the end of the meal just to say that the Thrice-cooked chunky chips were a little disappointing, as in they were very soggy, greasy and hopefully he would inform the chef, as normally they are very good, however other than that unusal blip, Saffrons was it's usual marvellous self :-)

User

Been to Saffron’s a few times in the last year and had consistently good food and service. Would highly recommend a meal out here
