This evening,I went to your store to spend some hard earned vouchers, mainly on Christmas presents for my grandchildren.

Whilst waiting at the till,I felt dreadfully unwell and had a funny turn!

Your check out lady,Jules, was an absolute brick.

She made sure I had help and looked after me until I felt well enough to drive home!

She deserves some recognition!

I would like to say a big thank you to her!

By the way,I’ve bought some wonderful gifts!

Thankyou to the lady running the self checkout today! (think her name was Claire but not sure) Whilst I was trying to scan and pack, Riley wasn't having any of it & was crying...she came along and rocked the pram and settled him #greatcustomerservice #goingtheextramile

My local school, Millbrook Primary in Bettws held a Christmas event in December to help raise money to go towards school projects. Sainsburys Newport was kind enough to donate a raffle prize which helped us to raise over £300, all monies will be used to help provide additional educational resources for the school. Huge thanks for your community spirit.

Many thanks for saving the World Cup flags from the World Cup display which I’ll be using to decorate my geography classroom!

It's usually stressful shopping with a 4 month old baby especially if they have a nappy incident but your baby changing facilities were outstanding and actually thought out so thank you very much.

I would just like to thank a member of staff for making every effort to find an item for me and for contacting neighbouring stores to track the item down. I think the staff members name was Katie. She spent time arranging for the item to be transferred from a different store and contacted me later in the afternoon to say the item would be available 48 hrs later. A little customer service goes a long way. Thank you for your help.

I came into the store recently for some last minute shopping with my daughter, who has ASD and sensory issues. As a result Supermarkets are highly stressful for her. We got to the checkout but there quite a queue. Unfortunately I was at the point of having to leave my shopping before paying due my daughters needs. However the checkout supervisor noticed my struggles and asked a checkout which was closing to stay open for me. They helped watch my daughter and helped my pack. I didn’t keep the receipt so unfortunately I can’t say who it was that helped. But I just wanted to say a huge thank you.

I always shop at the Newport store as it offers a superb range of produce. I have tried the competitors from time to time but always return to Sainsbury's because of the quality and variety of their goods. Clothing is excellent quality and as I understand often made by the same supplier as Next. Doing my Christmas grocery shopping yesterday was effortless, apart from the hoards of other customers, as everything I needed was there. Whereas in past years at other supermarkets I have ended up queuing for ages, the team at Newport efficiently manage this by quickly opening up vacant tills when things get busy. The only criticism I have is they "allowed" one of the loveliest and most knowledgeable members of staff, a guy called Dave from the fresh fish counter, to "defect" to their Pontlanfraith store. We miss you in Newport Dave, you were a legend! If I were a manager there I would have offered him an incentive to stay.

A huge thank you to Sainsburys Newport for letting Tenovus Sing with Us Cwmbran choir sing in your foyer yesterday. We had such a good time singing and entertaining your customers. We made loads of money for breast cancer awareness month. Xxxx

I'm a regular at this store as it is local, some staff know my face and are friendly welcoming. It can be expensive, that's a personal choice to shop there, but you can shop on a budget if you choose home brands, check out the offers etc. I have never paid full price for clothes, taking advantage of their regular clothes Sales.

The cafe is friendly and always service with a smile, but the food is hit and miss, often a long wait for your food and I have had wrong orders and often had to send cold food back.

My recent complaint is that when utilising the Mother and baby parking I found that all the baby/children trolleys were stored far away from the designated parking bays. Requiring me to either leave my grandson unattended in the car or (as I did) carry him and the required baby bags etc to find a trolly. PLEASE correct this!!!!! It would save many a parent's/grandparents back. Thank you

Good shop, can always find what I'm looking for although I did spot a typo yesterday on a muller light dessert "oange and dark chocolate"

I love the clothes and food, but some is a bit pricey. I love your coffee in the café and all the staff in the café are so polite and happy. Some of the store staff could do with smiling tho and some are rude. I do shop everyday here and when they have a sale on its a good one. :)

Went into Sainsbury's this evening and bought a few items plus I asked for 100 sterling superkings menthol

I then paid and left the store when I got home and opened the pack I realised they had given me the normal ones and not the menthol

I have just called the customer service manager who told me that this had happened a couple of weeks ago and Sainsbury's will not do anything about the mistake they made, then went on to say that I should have checked what I was given

apparently it does not matter that they gave me the wrong ones.

Oh well another disappointed customer.

I think it might be a good idea to put a notice up telling customers that they need to check what cigarettes they are given as mistakes will not be rectified even when it is Sainsbury's in the wrong.

The store was ok I only wanted a cappuccino at to wait 15 mns they had run out of milk none of the staff were in a rush to get it from the store I think the restaurant staff need more training.

User

Overpriced and certainly not a good experience, compared to Aldi/Lidl the fruit and veg more than half price, delivery good but way out of most budgets.

However the Fish stall was exceptional great knowledge from staff and of course extremely good freshness.

User

When questioning something in cafe today about chip and pin i then proceeded to wait for my drinks so the 2 delightful ladies thought it was appropriate to bitch about me while I'm stood there totally disrespectful at least have the common sense and wait for me to leave they were not even wearing name badges for you to identify said staff members

Think twice before ordering homeware online. As it’s turned out, it’s different to other online ordering because they treat your order in the same way as a grocery delivery. Therefore, they don’t flag up the fact that they haven’t the item in stock. I ordered four matching duvet covers. They’ve sent one - useless on it’s own. They have more in ‘buddy’ stores - I was quoted Swansea, Stroud and Tewkesbury - but I would have to collect/purchase from these in the usual way. They won’t transfer the items between stores. So I now have to take the one duvet cover back into Newport store. No recompense for delivery charge, trip to Newport Sainsbury’s or phone calls to 0800 nos. necessary to get this far. I’m tamping! Bottom line, if the item isn’t in stock, they should tell you so that you can look elsewhere!
