Great to see the county juniors being put through their paces at SGC earlier today. At the other end of the age spectrum, congratulations to Malcolm Ibbotson and Steve Jolly who won their first round National Seniors Pairs Cup match 2&1 against a pair from Newcastle under Lyme.

Winners of today's Davies Riddell Foursomes were Tom Kerr and Barry Ruddick - at one over for the front nine and level on the back, they posted a winning net score of 69.5. Congratulations lads..... We assume the clubs left in the bin outside the clubhouse (also pictured) weren't yours! Someone have a bad round?!

Fantastic weather and slick greens for our mid week comps. Congratulations to Hilary Fowles and Sue Pritchard who carded 71s on Wednesday and will play off for the Glyn Hill Cup, and to Lynn Jones who won the Seniors Mitchell Mug with 40 points earlier today.

Congratulations to England B (pictured with the magnificent trophy) and England A who wiped the floor at our International Snooker evening last night. As for the other home nations - Ireland enjoyed the Guinness and took the wooden spoon, the Welsh fought hard and, as for Scotland, well no second half heroics for them!

A great day at SGC on Wednesday for the Ladies Fashion Show with proceeds going to Lady Captain Lesley's chosen charity - around 100 members and guests saw the latest fashions and enjoyed a nine hole comp - even the sun shone! More photos to come in our next newsletter.

Thank you for hosting the Ladies Open yesterday which we thoroughly enjoyed. The course was in great condition and the buffet following the match was excellent.

Stunning golf course. Absolutely stunning course today. Extremely very friendly welcome from start to finish. Course was lovely and greens were the best I have played all year. Can not recommend enough. Absolute pleasure to play. Will definitely be back.

Not the most interesting course in the world but great condition and greens superb...bunkers a little iffy!

I’ve played here a handful of times on golf days over the past 15 years . The course in the summer is in excellent conditions . Greens fast and true and fairways like carpet . There’s plenty of variety in the holes with some very long par 4’s well over 400 yds . Clubhouse facilities and catering excellent and a good pro shop . It’s a little too far for me to consider membership maybe but that’s all that would put me off!

Great day out with some old work buddies. Always a pleasure to return to Condover. Course in good Nick if the greens were slower than usual after recent top dressing - still 10 on the stimp.
