The Severe Disability Premium (SDP) is for anyone who receives one of the legacy benefits (IS/JSA/ESA/HB), also in receipt of PIP or the Mid/High rate of DLA, lives alone, and where no one receives cares allowance for them, can get an extra £65.85 per week in their award. Entitlement to SDP will protect customers from having to claim Universal Credit prior to managed migration.
