What a lovely cinema, reminded me of how cinemas used to be, so much more a personal experience, i won't be going back to the rip-off i-max.

User

We make full use of the cinemas pocket money matinees during the weekends. Perfect for a rainy day, not often you can get a family trip to the cinema for £10. Snacks and drinks all reasonably priced too. The staff are nothing but welcoming and quick to help. With 2 screens, one larger with balcony and the other much smaller this venue is like cinemas used to be before the multiplexes. It's a real treat.

My tip, whilst the large screen is more grand the seats haven't been updated yet, the smaller screen has new seats and are brilliantly comfy.

User

Took my two girls and their Nanny to watch coco. First time in a long time coming to this cinema. Seats are comfy enough. Could do with a few more booster cushions but my girls managed ok without. Will definitely come again soon xx

User

This is my local cinema. It is a beautiful old building that used to be the town hall. There are just two screens

The prices are amazingly cheap, so if you are wanting a night out on a budget this is for you.

Now the bad. It has only got two screens. It's not an Imax, it's not 3D, and the seats are a little uncomfortable.

That said I would recommend it.

User

This cinema is the NUTS, it's character is beautiful and is a step back in time with the way it's decorated. It's in walking distance to where I live, and the ticket prices are very good specially with their early bird on a Saturday and Sunday. Would choose this cinema over Cineworld or Odeon even if they were in Folkestone, and to finish the staff are really friendly. Hope this little gem stays around for many years to come.

User

So fortunate to have it locally. Easy to visit, not crowded, no waiting for ages, clean and good sound. All good.

User

Saw beauty and the beast with my 5 and 7 year old we all love it and cinema was fantastic and staff really charming. I feel very Lucy to have such a nice cinema just a 5 minute walk from my home. Highly recommend.

User

Much prefer our wee local cinema to the huge, expensive multiplexes. It's full of character, the decor is fabulous and staff are always pleasant. Prices are great too.

User

Lovely cinema staff are great and always make you welcome and tickets are good value especially if you the burger deal at Googies on Tuesday night

User

I love folkestone silver screen cinema, often taking me daughter to the weekend kids viewing. Bargain at £2.50 each, Refreshment prices are also very reasonable. Friendly atmosphere and very polite and helpful staff. Even entrance prices for the evenings new movies are very good and half the price of cone world my older sons wouldn't be able to attend the cinema as much as they do if folkestone silver screen wasn't here.

User

Have been twice with my son and husband to see the early weekend £2.50 showing! Excellent value for money. Visited with just my husband to see the greatest showman and we were able to sit on the balcony which made the experience even better. I have yet to sit in screen 2 but I love screen 1. The theatre decor with the black and white portraits and red velvet seating is beautiful. I won't be spending another penny in Ashford watching a film as long as I can come here.

User

Great cinema, friendly staff and great value family entertainment.

User

Been meaning to check this cinema out for a while. Finally did on Saturday. Caught the matinee of isle of dogs for £2.50 which is a great price if you compare it to cineworld! Admittedly I'm a cineworld unlimited card holder but this cinema has so much charm I'll be paying to come here when I'm in the area in future. Seats are comfy, refreshments are cheap and there's no adverts before the film. Loved the old style tickets too. Great place.

User

Absolutely LOVE this cinema! Great value and decor. Have been going to this cinema for over 30 years. Staff are friendly. The history of the building alone should persuade anyone to visit. Also, supporting an independent cinema that isn’t out to rip you off is always a plus. A home away from home 😃

User

A bit of character to add to your cinema experience. Fantastic cinema.

User

I went with my partner last night to watch tomb raider and found the staff very helpful and friendly. I do enjoy coming here however I'm finding the seats to be a little uncomfortable because my back is killing today lol but always find my experience here very good, I have been using this cinema for about 20 years now so must be doing something right.

User

I had a problem with the booking of Star Wars via the telephone number.

The staff resolved the issue and sorted it out for me. I have changed the review to reflect their resolution of the problem.

Good work

User

Great little cinema off the down town of Folkestone. I have been going here for years and the service is always great. The two cinema screening are amazing, and love the balcony view in the big one. I am very happy with the renovation and redesign of the smaller one. I went there yesterday to watch POWER RANGER and the projector screen is great quality. Also, the price is amazing considering the latest blockbuster films that is being shown every week. Definitely go and check it out, and see what you think of it. It's best to go on the early premiere date, as the room will be filled with joyful people. Finally, the range of food is wonderful and you can pick from sweet or salt popcorn to Haribo sweets! The only improvement would be cleaner and fresh toilet, but apart form that, the Silver Screen Cinema in Folkestone is one of the best experience of movie watching I've had in my life.

User

Would have got a higher star rating if the manager hadn't falsely accused me of swearing at his staff. He then tried to tell me he had reviewed the CCTV which showed some form of altercation between myself and a staff member which never actually took place!! Ruined what had been an enjoyable afternoon with my son!
