We don't share our great reviews often enough....here is one from last month.
Reviewed July 6, 2018 Can't believe we'd never been here before Absolutely and I truly mean absolutely gorgeous food. Very reasonable prices, atmosphere was lovely and the music mixture they played was just wicked. (You need to sell this mix on CD ) Felt like I was back in Jamaica only the food served here is better than I've been served in Jamaica. The service was so friendly and I can't recommend ...this place highly enough. First time visitors last night and definitely planning on making it our regular place to eat out.

Went here last night for our anniversary meal and what a meal it was. Authentic Caribbean fayre at a sunny price. The service was excellent and a nice little relax between courses, a generally chilled out evening. Made to feel really welcome and the personal touch of having an anniversary card on our table from the owners and staff truly made it a night to remember. Tried Akee for the 1st time with saltfish, gorgeous. Thanks once again to all the staff for a wonderful evening. :-)

Went for a family birthday party, definitely recommend as food excellent and in great setting, made to feel so welcome.

Going back again on Friday, so looking forward to it.

A must place to visit in a nice secluded spot.

The food was beautiful and cooked fresh the jerk sausage is amazing! Only down side was we didn't get the hot drink or bacon included in the breakfast meal. Will be back again tho!�

Thank you to Angela and her team for a wonderful family birthday evening last Saturday 19 August 2017.

The food was authentic, tasty and fresh.

Angela made us feel like family, she even decorated our area with Birthday items.

You have got to try this little gem!

Afterwards we went across to their intimate winebar and danced the night away. Angela even arranged for my teenaged son and nephews to watch football in their cafe which was next to the restaurant .

Believe me we will be back!�

Thank you for lovely meal yesterday in celebration of my mums birthday in August. Although a quiet evening in the restaurant....we had a fabulous time, food was truly gorgeous, prices very reasonable and most importantly, my mum loved it. We will definitely be back.

Simmer Down Mutton just melts in your mouth with an amazing taste. Decor is a wee bit tired, but the warmth of the welcome, the food and prices soon put any negativity out of your mind, which is why I gave it 5 stars.

Mutton curry was great, nice chill-out place after the visit to the museum and a bit of shopping.

The curry mutton is superb and i had to go back for more jerk chicken.

Just had a great meal. Staff are friendly and welcoming, food is stunning. If you haven't tried them yet, then go it! Cafe next door looks great as well. Word of warning, the rum cream on the pudding is more rum than cream! Loved it

I can't believe it's taken me so long to find this place! Came in for the first time a couple of weeks ago to get my boyfriend to try some Jamaican food (my dad is Jamaican so I'm no stranger!) and I have to say we both loved it. The curry mutton tasted just as good as I remember from growing up and I will definitely be back to sample the other menu items.

Hidden jem excellent home cooked food relaxed friendly atmosphere & great value for money.....what more could you ask for :-)

Fantastic food, fantastic people. Had a great meal here last night for our anniversary. Made to feel so welcome and it was just a wonderful and relaxed night with great food. Cannot recommend it enough. The brown stew chicken is amazing, as is the mutton curry. (I'm sure the rest of the menu if just as good - we haven't got that far ... yet)! Will definitely be going again.
