SJL Insurance Services is a British insurance broker that has clients in the UK and clients across the world. SJL is a registered Lloyds of London broker. SJL Insurance was established in 2001 and has offices in the City of London, Worcester & Bristol.
Sjl Insurance Services Description
SJL was founded in 2001 by Simon Lancaster, who continues to own and run the business. Simon started the business in his spare bedroom with a ‘blank sheet of paper’, then through the hard work, vision and innovation of Simon and his dedicated and excellent staff we have enjoyed year on year organic growth in the decade and a half since. This has enabled SJL to lay strong foundations, growing to be one of the largest and most successful independently owned insurance brokers in the UK now employing over 40 staff and turning over in excess of £15m this year.
SJL are based in the Midlands but transact business all over the UK and globally, with tens of thousands of clients. We started as a wholesale scheme broker and continue to transact business via a growing network of well over 1000 independent insurance brokers and other partners nationwide.
Our continuing growth has been built on this solid foundation of mutually beneficial relationships, long term partnerships and delivering a full and diverse range of insurance products with a great service at competitive premiums. We really are big enough to deliver but small enough to care.
SJL underwrite many of our own in house products where insurers have delegated authority to us, we have access into Lloyds of London where we are also a Lloyds cover holder and we have access to the UK’s leading composite insurance market, meaning that SJL are able to source and place a vast range of comprehensive insurance products at market leading prices.
Our continued success has also been based on recognising, developing and investing in our staff. This has recently been recognised by SJL achieving the much coveted Investors In People accreditation and also becoming an apprenticeship ambassador. We strongly believe that our staff are integral to our success.

This christmas, our amazing staff have decided to replace our annual office christmas buffet, with a donation to two local charities; Worcester Foodbank and Worcester Street Cafe.
Just love that we work in a big team here at SJL that ALL felt that this was a great idea, no complaints.
