Lovely spacious pub we had a steak

It was cooked to perfection. And the rest of the meal was fresh

It was New years day and virtuallyempty. Nevertheless a nice atmosphere and a lovely building. The menu looked very good with plenty of vegetarian meals available. And prices were reasonable. The staff were friendly and chatty- especially as they were working New years day.

I've had such an amazing time at Slug and Lettuce, the staff are just amazing!!! The bartender Jade Colquitt (I think that was her name �) made my birthday night even more special, she was so friendly and managed to bring her manager's attention to the fact that was my birthday so that I would receive a free bottle of Prosecco. Thank you sooooo much Jade and manager �

I had an fizz tipsy after noon tea on sat 16th June with my Daughter and two Daughter in laws very spacious. Food was lovely. All friendly staff. Definently will call again

Cocktails are always so good. The one downfall for every time I come here is the waiting time - you could be standing there for nearly half an hour and by the time you've finished your drinks there's no point in waiting in that queue again so you end up going elsewhere. The place needs more barstaff for a Saturday night.

Not the fastest and fairest of services received. Great building! Nice polite doormen but not the happiest of staff working in this bar which is a huge put off and ruins a fun evening. Out of all the staff I was served by one lovely bar tender that was apologetic for the wait in getting more gin to the bar and smiley too... not sure of her name though but she was lovely on Thursday 29th... need more of her working their.. I would feel sorry if we had tourist on holiday looking for a fun night out to be greeted and served by sour faces with no personality at all... not the experience to have when wanting a fun night away!!

A lovely venue with sound doormen but what let's it down is painfully slow bar staff. Especially one ignorant young chap who just said it wasn't his problem after giving me all the attitude.

Venue- building great, location great, decor great.



Cleanliness- Very poor, stank of urine, floors sticky, table sticky, chairs dirty.



Food- Only had a sharing platter for a starter and left because of the smell and grime. But it arrived quickly and was cooked to a good standard.



Drinks- well priced and good selection but varied quality. Staff using the same shakers for cocktails without washing or even rinsing them in between. Probably wouldn’t be washed all night due to how busy the bar is and the lack of staff there.



Staff- first member of staff I dealt with was a right miserable git but made a decent cocktail and did it quickly.

Second member of staff was friendly but took an age to make the cocktail (in fact I watched the first one make 8 cocktails in the time it took this one to make 2) and it sucked! Ended up giving them away.



Experience- Weird! It was about 6pm and to the one side of us we had a family sitting down enjoying a lasagna and a chat and the other side a full blown session necking shots.



Overall- Place needs a good clean and a lot of air fresheners! Staff need training in cleanliness and customer service on one side of the spectrum and some mixology lessons on the other side. Layout could do with sorting so there is a designated place to eat and another for getting smashed.



Would I visit again? Yes to get smashed or if I was already smashed, no if I fancied a bit to eat or a drink of good quality.

But whilst we were waiting we saw the waitress walking round trying to find a table and we just assumed the customers had moved tables until our food came out. When the food came out the guy who served us was just wondering round, he had actually taken where we were sitting but couldn't find us not as if we hid, we were on a big table. We ordered starters (small plates as they call it) then mains but everything came out at the same time. So the food was a bit cold because of the wondering and the whole not coming out as it was ordered and not well proportioned anyway, my friends mushroom tagliatelle was just mushroom and minimal pasta. No point in the salmon pate because there was none, asked the server to have some actually put on. There was no check back on the table and it took an age to clear the plates. I've been before a couple of months previous and it was miles better. What happened?

Not the best of services received the bar staff were pretty much rude when requesting drinks they either said didn't have the ingredients or got the drinks mixed up with another customers the manger of the venue was not at all good with his customer service approach may need retraining on this the security staff was outstanding the crap they got to deal with even thou have of it could be avoided if staff didn't upset you and make you feel tight the moment you go to the bar. The food is okay but for the price you expect it to be slightly better you get better service at a local take away at least you know what your paying for.!!!

Group of eight of us went for our lunch break here, the place was practically empty so you would think it wouldn’t take long for drinks and food to come out. We ordered our drinks, three drinks came out and then 10 minutes later the rest of the drinks arrived which was very odd. Especially given the drinks brought out last were just bottled drinks. 50 minutes after ordering food and still no sight of our order. We had all ordered paninis/wraps so nothing complicated. We had to ask how much longer it would be as we only had an hour to be out for lunch and we’re at the point where we needed to be leaving in a few minutes. Waitress informed us it would be 5-10 more minutes meaning eight sandwiches would take a whole hour to make in an empty restaurant. We told them to cancel the food order and went to pay for drinks where we had to wait another ten minutes just to pay! We went to McDonalds on the way back to work and were all served within minutes. Not sure why service is so slow but it was ridiculous! This was my second time here and the time before was a similar experience where our table waited two hours for our meals. Never going back here again! Waste of time!

Disappointed. The worst porn star martini cocktail I have ever had and two different cocktails came with none of the garnish/additions that they state.

Been here on a few occasions and the service is always incredibly slow when getting drinks. Looking at other reviews this is a common problem people have here.



Came here for New Years Eve and we got there around half 11 and went to the bar, at about ten to 12 the DJ shouted "bar is closing at 5 to so get over there now." Or words to that effect - It was then reopening at ten past.



As soon as we were about to be served we were told the bar closed, even though we had been waiting for almost half an hour and the DJ had been telling people to go to the bar.



The people next to us were also annoyed and left, but we decided to wait for the countdown. After midnight they played Auld Lang Syne for around 10 seconds, and then went straight into the shite of Despacito.... what a way to start the new year.....



The manager was also very rude when we asked him why we couldn't get served, saying that we had been given a 5 minute warning. But not much help when we had been queuing for 20 minutes before that and then the DJ was encouraging people to go to the bar before it closed.



Luckily it was free to get in so a cheap night as didn't have to pay entry and then couldn't get any drinks.

Food- Only had a sharing platter for a starter and left because of the smell and grime. But it arrived quickly and was cooked to a good standard.



Drinks- well priced and good selection but varied quality. Staff using the same shakers for cocktails without washing or even rinsing them in between. Probably wouldn’t be washed all night due to how busy the bar is and the lack of staff there.



Staff- first member of staff I dealt with was a right miserable git but made a decent cocktail and did it quickly.

Second member of staff was friendly but took an age to make the cocktail (in fact I watched the first one make 8 cocktails in the time it took this one to make 2) and it sucked! Ended up giving them away.



Experience- Weird! It was about 6pm and to the one side of us we had a family sitting down enjoying a lasagna and a chat and the other side a full blown session necking shots.



Overall- Place needs a good clean and a lot of air fresheners! Staff need training in cleanliness and customer service on one side of the spectrum and some mixology lessons on the other side. Layout could do with sorting so there is a designated place to eat and another for getting smashed.



Would I visit again? Yes to get smashed or if I was already smashed, no if I fancied a bit to eat or a drink of good quality.

The staff were pleasant. The venue was dirty, the roof leaked, the food was pour value for what it cost and my lasagne was crucified ( literally charcoal on the top). Fortunately the company was lovely.

Tables were dirty to start with, ordered at the bar got our drinks the servers asked which table we were at. Food was cheap because its 50% on a Monday. But whilst we were waiting we saw the waitress walking round trying to find a table and we just assumed the customers had moved tables until our food came out. When the food came out the guy who served us was just wondering round, he had actually taken where we were sitting but couldn't find us not as if we hid, we were on a big table. We ordered starters (small plates as they call it) then mains but everything came out at the same time. So the food was a bit cold because of the wondering and the whole not coming out as it was ordered and not well proportioned anyway, my friends mushroom tagliatelle was just mushroom and minimal pasta. No point in the salmon pate because there was none, asked the server to have some actually put on. There was no check back on the table and it took an age to clear the plates. I've been before a couple of months previous and it was miles better. What happened?

Not the best of services received the bar staff were pretty much rude when requesting drinks they either said didn't have the ingredients or got the drinks mixed up with another customers the manger of the venue was not at all good with his customer service approach may need retraining on this the security staff was outstanding the crap they got to deal with even thou have of it could be avoided if staff didn't upset you and make you feel tight the moment you go to the bar. The food is okay but for the price you expect it to be slightly better you get better service at a local take away at least you know what your paying for.!!!

Group of eight of us went for our lunch break here, the place was practically empty so you would think it wouldn’t take long for drinks and food to come out. We ordered our drinks, three drinks came out and then 10 minutes later the rest of the drinks arrived which was very odd. Especially given the drinks brought out last were just bottled drinks. 50 minutes after ordering food and still no sight of our order. We had all ordered paninis/wraps so nothing complicated. We had to ask how much longer it would be as we only had an hour to be out for lunch and we’re at the point where we needed to be leaving in a few minutes. Waitress informed us it would be 5-10 more minutes meaning eight sandwiches would take a whole hour to make in an empty restaurant. We told them to cancel the food order and went to pay for drinks where we had to wait another ten minutes just to pay! We went to McDonalds on the way back to work and were all served within minutes. Not sure why service is so slow but it was ridiculous! This was my second time here and the time before was a similar experience where our table waited two hours for our meals. Never going back here again! Waste of time!

Disappointed. The worst porn star martini cocktail I have ever had and two different cocktails came with none of the garnish/additions that they state.

Been here on a few occasions and the service is always incredibly slow when getting drinks. Looking at other reviews this is a common problem people have here.



Came here for New Years Eve and we got there around half 11 and went to the bar, at about ten to 12 the DJ shouted "bar is closing at 5 to so get over there now." Or words to that effect - It was then reopening at ten past.



As soon as we were about to be served we were told the bar closed, even though we had been waiting for almost half an hour and the DJ had been telling people to go to the bar.



The people next to us were also annoyed and left, but we decided to wait for the countdown. After midnight they played Auld Lang Syne for around 10 seconds, and then went straight into the shite of Despacito.... what a way to start the new year.....



The manager was also very rude when we asked him why we couldn't get served, saying that we had been given a 5 minute warning. But not much help when we had been queuing for 20 minutes before that and then the DJ was encouraging people to go to the bar before it closed.



Luckily it was free to get in so a cheap night as didn't have to pay entry and then couldn't get any drinks.
