Sofia'S Italian Restaurant Description
Sofia's is a warm and vibrant Italian restaurant situated in the Grade 1 Listed Guildhall in the centre of Walsall. With around 150 covers we can cater for both large parties and smaller groups of people.
Sofia’s provides both a romantic atmosphere for couples and a buzzing feel for parties. We play classic romantic and upbeat Latin, Spanish, Mediterranean and Italian music.
Sofia’s has a large open kitchen and we specialise in high quality, freshly prepared Italian food - although our diverse menu does include other influences. Our service is relaxed yet professional.
Sofia’s caters for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries and hen parties. Take Aways are also available.

Our regular Italian Family Sunday Lunch is set to be launched at the start of March. The event will take place between 12pm and 3pm and will include a three course meal and entertainment from a top Italian singer. It is going to be great! Will post more details when we have them finalised.

Waow! I travel to Italy a lot and this restaurant is definitely up there with their standards. Love it. It's never really overly busy but I actually prefer that because it means I'm not waiting forever for the food to come. The pasta I had was very tasty- massive portions too. If you're thinking about going-defo give it a shot
Visited here with a groupon voucher on Friday night. We got a starter and a main and a glass of prosecco. All was lovely- couldn't fault it. I've seen some mixed reviews because people were complaining about a service charge- I would love to know what restaurant they've been to that doesn't have an optional service charge....mc donalds?
Very nice restaurant- beautiful interior, Proper traditional Italian. Me and the mrs come here quite often. The new manager and staff seem very friendly. Nice to see people actually from Walsall working here as well as Italians.
I've had the pleasure of being a customer and staff. The staff can't do enough for you and the portions are very generous. If you want to feel like you are in a restaurant on your holiday then Sofia's is the place to go
Really nice food the young guy dan who served us was a true professional and worked hard to keep us satisfied the only negative for me was that they ran out of cider, I don't know what other people are complaining about we enjoyed it and will be going back
Over priced for what it is, wished I went somewhere else
We had afternoon tea we were the only people in there so no atmosphere, overpriced for what we got, cakes out of a box, three miniscule sandwiches not worth the money, dissappointed
Supposed to be seated at 9, finally seated at 9:35 (despite restaurant being empty) service was poor with no apologies. Food was ok. The table was dirty. The bill was incorrect and service charge was included but not deserved! Won't be going back in a hurry!

Worst Italian restaurant going. Terrible service and the food was substandard. ....and then they add a service charge on the bill, cheek!
Was a lovely restaurant however the food was so expensive and you get charged a service bill for 9 of us the service bill was £24 a rip off !!!
If you want a convivial meal go somewhere else. This place is a rip off, Charge 10% for service which is very poor. they do not seem to know what they are doing.
If uve got any sense dont go anywhere near this place Poor management Poor food they buy supermarket smart price food and charge you the earth (fact) from people who have worked there hence the shit quality and the young girls they take on are unfairly treated my daughter was one of them last year !! Please dont ever apply for a job here you will regret it.
Freezing cold on Saturday, we had 3 electric heaters on in the area we were sitting in and it was still cold. Can't say the food was authentic Italian food, nothing special about it at all. Salmon was over-cooked and almost dry, how do you over-cook salmon?! Lasagne was mainly tomato and lasagne sheets. Wouldn't recommend the place. It's a shame, it once had a good reputation.
Don't waste your money in this place you get one cup of tea and the cakes was supermarket own brands what a load of rubbish and the cheek of them to add service charge on top lol I don't think so
DO NOT WORK HERE. I was not paid at all for my first three weeks nor my final week. I was paid £75 a fortnight, which is £1.41 per hour on average for the 6 months I was there. They have refused to give me a copy of my contract or my payslips despite me constantly asking for them (they are LEGALLY obligated to give me them). I am constantly told that the "head office" will send them to me. I am 99% sure that there is no head office and that the owners of this place merely use that concept to avoid accountability. I am also aware that they have done this to many people before me and will continue to do so to whoever has replaced me. Again, DO NOT WORK HERE.
Beware of the Groupon Voucher for Sofia's Italian restaurant -Walsall!!! Purchased a voucher for £13.95 for two. The Groupon value is identified as £38.10. However the meal offer by the Sofia's was only to the value of £9.95 each [total £19.90] + Prosecco- this does not appear add up to the value of £38.10. The deal is advertised as 63% Discount!!! Rip off!!!!!
