Solihull Hospital And Community Services Nhs Description

Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust, that runs Solihull Hospital and Community Services, is one of the largest hospital Trusts in England.
The Trust also runs Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham Chest Clinic and Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield as well as a number of smaller satellite units enabling people to be treated as close to home as possible.

Solihull Hospital, based near to Solihull town centre, provides a range of outpatient, inpatient and emergency care services for its local community. It has a leading dermatology department and is one of two national centres for epidermolysis bullosa.

UNICEF recently reaccredited the Solihull community health visiting and infant feeding services as ‘baby friendly’. This means that the team is providing parents with the best possible care to build close and loving relationships with their baby and to feed their baby in ways which will support optimum health and development.

Since April 2011, Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust has also been the provider of community healthcare services for Solihull residents. Community Services in Solihull provide a wide range of care in people’s own homes and in community-based settings such as GP surgeries, community clinics and care homes.

The hospital has recently welcomed the addition of two new services on site. The Urgent Primary Care service will provide an urgent ‘see and treat’ service for patients with minor illnesses. This service will be for patients without a prior booked appointment. Patients will need to report to the Urgent Primary Care reception located next to the existing Minor Injuries Unit reception.

The Booked Primary Care service will be for patients who have had an appointment booked for them, either via 111, their GP out-of-hours service or in some instances at the Urgent Primary Care service. For those patients who have been referred by 111 or their GP out-of-hours service, they will access this reception area from the north entrance of Solihull Hospital, opposite the visitor car park.

This wonderful new animated film has been developed by our Therapies team to promote the Eat Drink Dress Move initiative. Staff are out and about promoting it on the wards this week. https://vimeo.com/305454368/3e77c1a246

We are currently dealing with an unprecedented demand on services throughout our hospitals.
We appreciate that people are choosing to attend our Emergency Departments (A&E) because of perceived long waits for doctors' appointments. However, the large number of patients attending who could be appropriately seen at a GP surgery instead, is preventing us from dealing with our acute patients in a timely manner.
We would urge anyone who does not require emergency treatment to 'Choose Well' and consider self care, pharmacists, calling 111 for advice or taking advantage of the extra out-of-hours GP appointments available throughout the winter months.

Went in for blood tests this morning and in less than 30 minutes was done and dusted and no car park charges.

Extremely friendly staff and very efficient service, well done Solihull hospital for a most positive experience in a period when we are saturated with negative comments about the NHS, try living in another country with no similar facility, your views on tbe NHS will change.

My Momma spent last night there in the AMU, she is an elderly lady & she absolutely sung the praises of the staff & how well she was treated. Your efficiency & diligence meant that she got to go home today, & I can’t thank you all enough!
