St John’s Lawley is very much a Church of England rural village Church, on the western side of Telford.

St John’s Lawley is very much a Church of England rural village Church, on the western side of Telford. Built in 1865, it could be said Lawley is now going through its most exciting changes since it was mentioned in the Doomsday book, as many new houses are built within the nearby area, (the Ironstone Housing Project). We want to play a major part in welcoming those making their homes in new local developments.

Our worship follows Church of England liturgy, and would best be described as central and progressive.

We are a member of the Central Telford Ecumenical Partnership. This Partnership is between Anglican churches and Methodist churches in Telford. It celebrates and recalls the common faith the different churches hold and seeks to encourage inter-church cooperation.

St John's has good links with both the local primary school (Lawley Primary School), and also Thomas Telford School. We host services from both schools at various times during the school year.

Sunday
Holy Communion
Some words to describe our worship? We use Anglican / Church of England liturgy. We would sing traditional hymns supported by an organ and choir. The service involves hymn books and service booklets. After our worship together, there are refreshments.
Every first second fourth and fifth Sunday at 9: 15 AM for 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Family Service
This is a service intended for all ages. It is a service in development as we seek to make it a meaningful and helpful worship experience for all who come regardless of what age. It is led by one of our wardens and our reader.
Every third Sunday at 9: 15 AM for 1 hour

Wednesday
Morning Prayer
An informal service of Morning Prayer, which includes a short talk.
Every Wednesday at 10: 00 AM for 40 minutes
