Thank you Rosie for coming into nursery today. Rosie Burhah is the local Optometric from Mincher-Locket Opticians in Gnosall and she chatted to the children about the importance of regular eye examinations and general health care. Rosie would like to remind parents the importance of children’s eyes being tested from an early age and would like to invite all parents to take their child for a free NHS eye test if they have not already had one. The children enjoyed trying on glasses and exploring her eye equipment. They liked her fun game of guess the item hidden in a sack! Rosie has asked the children to take part in a colouring competition and she will be returning back to nursery on Thurs 6th Feb to judge their art work and to give out prizes!

The children enjoyed Halloween today - we did pumpkin, carving, made biscuits and bat mobiles, listened to stories with witches and ghosts and they had fun playing games in their Halloween costumes 😀

The pre-school children enjoyed their trip to the library this morning 😀

Thank you to Emily’s grandad for kindly bringing in some freshly grown carrots and cucumbers from his allotment. The children washed, then chopped the carrots to make some lovely harvest vegestable soup, which they had with homemade bread for tea.. They had the cucumber for their mid morning snack. 😃

The children have enjoyed our dinosaur theme today. Making dinosaur trails in the paint, finding hidden dinosaurs in the forest and making dinosaurs with playdough 😀

The children had a lovely walk over to the church today to celebrate harvest festival. Thank you to Reverend Kathryn for giving up her time to spend with the children - they enjoyed listening to your story and the drink and biscuits afterwards 😀

We promote British Values at nursery by giving the children the opportunity to vote for their favourite story book each day. Today they voted for ‘The smartest giant in town’

Another busy week in our pre-school room. The children have been on a nature walk around the village to collect conkers and leaves. They have also made hedgehogs out of playdough and pasta, played sorting and matching games in the maths area with conkers and they have made some lovely leaf collages. They have also learnt a new action song called Hilly Billy the Hedgehog 😀

Today we have had a visit from the Firemen. The children all had a go at holding the water hose and got to sit inside the fire engine. Thank you to Gnosall fire brigade for coming to visit us - you did a great job at keeping them all entertained.

Our holiday club children had a fun afternoon at the park, with blackberry picking on the way back and then cooling down with ice lollies in the church yard. The pre-school children have enjoyed our new mini beasts activity - incorporating fine motor skills, numbers, counting and matching. Lions room listened to the story of Fireman Sam then painted some lovely pictures afterwards 😀

The children have had fun with the trucks and diggers in our construction area today. Filling them with soil, pebbles, bark chipping sand sand! They’ve also done a great job at watering the plants everyday. Tigers room have had the tea set out - pouring and filling the tea pots and dipping tea bags in them!

Lions room went looking for the hidden dinosaurs inside St Lawrence’s Church yesterday. Teddies children have enjoyed rubbing their fingers through cold red jelly! Thank you also to those parents that came to the pre-school parents evening last night.
