St Marys Church Bushbury Description

The church lies almost on the edge of Wolverhampton and amidst fields. This ancient foundation tells us of Bushbury's separate and independent existence, from its days as an early agricultural parish until almost the mid-20th century, when industry and housing began creeping up from Wolverhampton in the south, until almost every field was taken over. But in this part of Bushbury there is still a lot of open space and views over rolling fields. Just beyond the church is Bushbury Hall and its farmyard outbuildings (all listed); and not far away is Northicote Farm; all are redolent of an agricultural past.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of all he created. James 1: 17-27

We got married at St Mary's 3 weeks ago and it was fantastic. The church were very helpful and accommodating with everything we wanted. We are both very jolly people and didn't want the service to be a somber occasion like some are, Graham got a sense of our humour at the rehearsal and brought a lot of it into the service itself, this made it the happy light hearted occasion we wanted it to be. (taken seriously obviously).

We also had Compton Hospice Choir come to help us sing our hymns, this was truly magical.

Jennifer in the office was very helpful every time we called her to confirm details and the church was clean beautiful.

We have received a lot of compliments on how beautiful the service was with people actually saying it was enjoyable and uplifting.

There are no negatives about the church or the way our wedding was held from the initial booking to the day itself.

Well done St Mary's, Graham, Jennifer and the team.
