Our epic Higher education students studying the BA (Hons) in Contemporary Art Practice (top-up) and Foundation Degree in Contemporary Art Practice at Stafford College are now showcasing their end-of-year work at an exhibition, titled Collective. 🖼🎨🖥✏
In total, 12 students are displaying their recent work covering a variety of creative disciplines including Graphic Design, Illustration, Contemporary Art Practice and Surface Pattern and Textiles. The students have put lots of w...ork into bringing the exhibition to life, from concept to delivery as part of their final major project. 🎉🎊
The Collective will be open at Stafford College to the general public between 16th-17th and 20th-22nd May between 10am and 4pm, so please stop by and see our students fantastic work. 👍😁

Massive well done to Stafford College student Chloe Taylor and Newcastle College student Abbie Perry who took part in the Inclusive Skills competition on Tuesday at North Warwickshire and Hinckley College. 👏👏
The two students from each NSCG campus were selected following an in-house competition between learners to represent the Group at the nationwide competition. In total six other colleges took part in yesterdays heats, with more involved later this week.
Tasked in preparin...g 8 starters to industry standard in 1 hour, the students had to work individually and were judged on taste of food 😋 safe working practice 👍 hygienic working practice ✨presentation of food 🍝ability to work independently 👩‍🍳 timekeeping ⏳ uniformity of food and equal portion sizes 🍽.
The girls did amazingly well throughout, in what was a very long day, showcasing some excellent skills with their starters. Both have received a certificate for their participation, and we have our fingers crossed for the results which will be announced on 3 June; with a place in the final at the NEC in Birmingham up for grabs. Well done girls!!

Level 3 BTEC Graphic students have been on an awesome visit to London this week as part of their studies. Students spent time in the city, sketching and gathering primary information about the South Bank for their current project in which they've been asked to create an infographic map of London landmarks. 🇬🇧✏️💂🎡🏙
They took in famous sights such as Tower Bridge, The Millennium Wheel, The Globe Theatre, Houses of Parliament and The Tate Modern where the stopped off for a look ...at some of the amazing modern art on display.
As part of the trip, students also visited Landor, one of the most famous branding agencies in the world, with clients such as British Airways and Audi. Senior designers, Carl Wills and Shaun Stewart, spent time with students, giving them a tour and overview of life at Landor, along with some case studies of recent branding projects.
An inspirational trip, where aspirations were well and truly raised in what was an eye-opening insight into an agency at the very top of their game. 😁👌🙌

Do something amazing, places still available! 😁🙌 We're excited to be involved in the first #StaffordSleepOut organised by the Rotary Club of Stafford in partnership with Stafford College that will take place this Friday 17 May 2019, 6pm outside the Riverbank building.
Participants will brave the elements overnight as they bed down to raise awareness of homelessness whilst also raising much needed funds to help prevent it happening in the first place.

Through our industry links via our Riverbank Restaurant AA Rosette and People 1st Accreditations. 🙌🙌 Fred Sirieix the French Maître d'hôtel best known for appearing on Channel 4's First Dates and an industry leader who is ke...en to promote the next generation of hospitality and catering professionals, offered Stafford students the chance to spend four days at the Michelin-starred restaurant at the London Hilton, working in the kitchen and front of house.
Looking after our students was Gilles Louis, Assistant General Manager of Galvin at Windows. Gilles has worked all over the world and managed to impart some of his experience to the students, including attention to detail, very high standards both in terms of presentation and service as well as the kitchen orientated students getting the chance to work in one of the country’s leading culinary environments. 🎊🎉
