User

Very supportive and friendly staff, great lecturers, great facilities and learning environment, great support from student advisors, the best choice I ever made as I've been there, starting with a Foundation Year in Business and completed a BA (Hons) Marketing Management!! They really do what they say : "CREATE THE DIFFERENCE"!!

User

Very impressed with Staffordshire University. They offer online distance learning for postgraduate courses. I studied Sociology with them and it was absolutely excellent. I would recommend this method of study for anyone who needs to study from home. The course content was interesting and diverse and staff were helpful. Highly recommended.

Today we went to the graduation ceremony of our daughter. From arrival to leaving the staff were helpful informative friendly and happy to help nothing was to much trouble for example in the marquee my little grandson became unsettled when the flooring made some strange sounds and I had to take him out side no less then three members of staff came over to offer assistance and help and advice.. There family area was absolutely amazing they had thought about all ages from babies toddlers preschoolers to older children with a big screen TV showing the ceremony so you didn't miss a thing as your child relaxed and played, there was even a well thought out area for breastfeeding mummy's to, and soft refreshments to keep everyone happy. The area was really secure with somebody on the door asking everyone who they were. Staffordshire University you did yourself proud xxx I cannot praise you enough xxx well done to everyone who organised, who was evolved with, and who graduated.. You did YOURSELF AND UNIVERSITY AND COMMUNITY PROUD XX

This is one of the best university in west midland. It has vast library for students

who are willing to go for extra hours of study. Students from all over the globe to make the atmosphere lively and pleasant. Really creating the difference. I would love recommend the students to join this for international exposure of quality education.

Staffordshire is a great University. The University has actually improved on my analytical skill and I am well respected for my analysis of issues at my work place. I pursued MA International Relations and graduated last year. I will not hesitate to recommend the school to anyone who wants to improve on their analytical skills.

User

Excellent university with great and motivated academic staff! I studied at several universities in continental Europe, but I never had such engaged and energized supervisors and professors as at Staffs! Great experience, really great!

User

Absolutely love Staffordshire University, studied Computer Networks and Security. I'm now working as an infrastructure engineer at a well known digger manufacturer and have found my degree very useful every step of the way since graduating in 2011. While at Staffordshire University I took on every opportunity to work and have fun along side my degree, socialising in the Sushi Eating society and Swimming Team. Engage with the course and talk to people, you get out what you put in. Thank you.

User

I am a mature student and in a minority group of wheelchair users at staffs uni and I have met some really luvly wonderfully warm and kind people since I started and the staff couldn't be more understanding of my conditions if they tried - well done staffs uni and all the tutors

User

There are a lot of problems regarding student support and attendance monitoring especially in certain departments. Students with mental health issues can easily slip through the net and unless the changes in behaviour are sudden and obvious enough the only way you can get support is to ask for it so for introverted students like myself who just disappeared this is very difficult and some lecturers certainly don't make life any easier. The student's union is an amazing network so for the extra curricular it's a 5* but the actual experience on the course and with everything else it was a let down.

Didn't even graduate, withdrew xmas in second year with severe depression and mild/moderate anxiety which was what stopped me going to lectures because of a bad experience.

User

I went to visit the university today for the university open day and I'll be honest... I really wasn't that impressed. Over all the campus was really boring and the only redeeming feature really was that there was a train station nearby. The course tutor that we spoke to didn't really sound very enthusiastic about the course and over all I just thought the university was an extremely boring place to be, though all of the student ambassadors I spoke to were really friendly and enthusiastic.

User

The student ambassadors on the open day were so rude to NCS members of staff when all they were trying to do were get the property that the young people had forgotten.

Absolutely 10 out of 10 rude there was no need what so ever!

My son, who has Aspergers, was very poorly supported by his first mentor who simply didn't do her job. She missed appointments with him repeatedly, didn't speak to lecturers, missed the fact that his LSA hadn't even been distributed by the Student Enabling Centre, and despite repeated requests, never contacted me. She later referred to my son, in an email, as "Distant and difficult to communicate with." And yet I was told when I complained that she was specially trained to help those with Aspergers! Well, you could have fooled me.

My son was also picked on by a computing lecturer, Mr. Roberts, who refused him an extension (which he was entitled to) even when he had seen my son's LSA. His refusal was overridden by the Faculty, because it amounted to disability discrimination. Not satisfied with that he deliberately - in my view - caused my son a zero mark at the end of that academic year. Vague, verbal instructions are no good for someone with Aspergers, and he may well have known that. Whatever he said to my son when he gave him his zero mark, it silenced my son for 4 months until his results came out. I appealed straightaway, but it was too late. My son became exhausted re-doing the work, and fell into, as far as I can tell, the inertia, passivity and depression that affect those with Aspergers when they are treated badly and put under massive stress. He hasn't been able to return to Uni since. I'm appalled at the way the mentor and lecturer have been able to get away with treating my son as they did; a vulnerable young man who just needed reasonable support. Staffordshire may be ok for neurotypical students, but anyone with Aspergers should steer clear.

User

I give this not for the course or my lecturers or the people as there all fantastic I give this as I want to put forward my disgust at £55.00 parking fees!!! No warning of it changing from 35 to 55 just basically told to pay it as a student rep myself I speak for everyone where it is basically bang out of order and now on top of the low amount of room to park before we're now having to go against people who have had to come from Stafford to stoke and park on there aswell and pay additional £20 on top also your making us sign in with our cards to keep track of our attendance but making us late at the same time to try get a parking space you spend over £40 million pounds of OUR money on transformation yet you couldnt make a bit more space up to add some extra parking think someone needs to sort this out it's terrible your making students pay 55 quid on the possibility they might get a space and making them late for there studies in the first place I like many of 3rd years don't have time to be late but you people make it impossible and the student union don't do jack about it. Hang your heads in shame!
