Staffordshire Wargaming Guild

Last week may have been our last Sunday of 2018 but the hobby and planning for 2019 hasn’t stopped!
We still have a couple of Bolt Action ‘Battle Reports’ to post up from last week.
We have some big upcoming events that we’re attending like Warlord Games boot camp for their WW2 strategy games Blood Red Skies and Cruel Seas, and developments as we start designing new business cards and posters with artistic help from John Kovalic - the artist for Munchkin board game!
... We’re also putting together the first rough ideas for our 2nd 40k tournament at Barrage Wargames Show and planning our 5th anniversary!
All that before 2019 has started!
We return to Moddershall Village Hall (ST15 8TG) January 6th 2019 at 530pm with a Sandbox Sunday featuring a huge Warhammer 40k game - more details next week on why, who for and how this big game is going to be different to any other we’ve organised before!
The diary then restarts with Week A on the 2nd Sunday (13th January), followed by Week B and then another Sandbox.
There maybe some ‘unofficial’ meet ups so stay tuned as these could be organised at short notice.

Tomorrow Night is our last night in the Hall in 2018!
So this Sunday! George is running a 1 off Dnd 5e - Spaces up for grabs!!! Phil, Mullet Man and James continue their 5e adventures... Danny is "Through the Breach" Bolt Action & 40k are a plenty! Josh and I will be getting the New Year Games up on a wall to fill leftover spaces. (We will also post them on our Chat) I'm spraying and painting and will bring board games to play :)

Before the 2019 - Join us Sunday 30th December for our Pre New Years Eve Shindig at the Boar 5.30 till 11pm. For our last get together of the year!! I will be doing Oatcakes for the night so bring snacks and games!

Dragonmeet maybe over for another year but we have some exciting news coming up relating to this guy!

Photos from Dragonmeet are being edited as we speak, we’re gathering info on our games for this Sunday and some plugging for a local business who got us our special 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons core books before we left for Dragonmeet!

Very welcoming people who are becoming my friends. And are such a joy to be around. Love the game. It's is very enjoyable and we have a laugh and everyone is very helpful. Even for a newbie. Ace.

The guild visited Nottingham last week. Great bunch of people, loved seeing their models and hearing their hobby and gaming ideas, can't wait to meet up again!

Superbly run group for all members whether novice or experts ... great fun had by all

SWG is a fast-growing and friendly community group where people of all ages, genders and backgrounds are brought down to the same level. Everyone meets and makes good friends with someone who they wouldn't normally come into contact with.



Every game/session has its surprises and the friendly, informal competition between the players to see 'who cause the most damage' or 'do the daftest thing before their character dies' helps cement the long-term friendships that you will make as soon as you walk through the door!
