About Stoke Recovery Service - Stoke Community Drug And Alcohol Service

Helping people stay on track for good. Recovery support in Stoke on Trent - part of the Stoke Community Drug and Alcohol Service.

Stoke Recovery Service - Stoke Community Drug And Alcohol Service Description

Stoke Recovery Service is an abstinence-based recovery centre, supporting residents of Stoke on Trent who have had substance misuse issues but have made the decision to become abstinent and are motivated to building a fulfilling recovery lifestyle. The service offers one-to-one support, groups and meaningful activities along with opportunities of peer support in a safe environment. The service is service user led and those in recovery can access the innovation fund for recovery based activities. The service also offers a rent deposit scheme that service users can apply for which will assist them in moving to more recovery appropriate accommodation and environment.

The service also offers support within the community to those who are struggling with making changes and have low motivation to change. We also offer support for affected others.

June presentation's event was as always a really inspiring day, where those who come to celebrate and collect their recovery time certificates share words of wisdom and their achievements, some words that stood out from the day have been put into a word cloud as a reminder of the key things that had been gained, experienced or were thankful for. Recovery really is one of the best places to be, one of the hardest things to achieve and where you see gratitude every day. We have a really strong and supportive recovery community in Stoke, if you are still struggling in addiction there is support out there - the first step is to reach out - we will guide you into recovery.

If the mountain seems too big today then climb a hill instead If the morning brings you sadness it's ok to stay in bed If the day ahead weighs heavy... and your plans feel like a curse there's no shame in rearranging don't make yourself feel worse if a shower stings like needles and a bath feels like you'll drown if you haven't washed your hair for days don't throw away your crown a day is not a lifetime a rest is not defeat don't think of it as failure just a quiet, kind retreat it's ok to take a moment from an anxious, fractured mind the world will not stop turning while you get realigned the mountain will still be there when you want to try again you can climb it in your own time just love yourself til then 💗
