Tickets available for this great night and for a great community cause...

Went there this afternoon with a group of disabled adults, Mike and the new staff went out of there way to be helpful and nothing was too much.

The good was great and not too expensive.

Would recommend worth a visit.

Came here for a carvery today and the food was lovely, whilst the service from the staff was brill.

Had to wait a little while for someone to come and serve our carvery to us but this was understandable when the chef/carver brought out a fresh gammon. Made conversations whilst serving us which was a nice change to other pubs.

Overall the visit was a good one, the place did seem a little understaffed but working in the restaurant industry myself I know this is just one of those things that occasionally happens.

User

Alaways a good time with good friends. Food is great. Shanice and all the staff always make you feel like your a guest and not just another customer...

Carvery was nice kids meal was nice pudding however complete waste of time took them at least 20 min to realise they didn't have what I had ordered and kids bottomless ice cream was runny slop and where it states on the menu that there are toppings it doesn't mention that on top of the 2.50 uve already paid for the slop u are expected to pay 50p per topping so nothing like described in menu . When complained to staff they just shrugged it off

We arrived at the carvery at 2.30pm and ordered a carvery from the bar. I took my drink into the seating area and went to the carvery to find there was a thirty minute wait for the meat because of a broken oven. The bar maid did not inform us of this but we decided to wait for the meat to come out. I went back up at 3.10pm to get my meal and was told it was going to be another half an hour. Deciding this was too long, me and boyf decided to get a refund and leave. The bar maid said to speak to the manager as she couldn't do refunds and the manager told us the meat was going to be out in five minutes and we would have a free drink during our meal. We decided to stay but the hassle of the day was starting to take it's toll. Finally, the meat arrived! The meat was the choice of either beef or gammon. I chose beef, which was quite stringy and fatty. The mash was lumpy. The cauliflower was hard.

Service was awful.

Meal was tolerable.

Won't be coming here again

Mac and cheese looked nothing like how it looked on your menu, your rocky Road pudding was advertised as having a chocolate flake but there was no flake and it was mainly ice cream. The carvery was cold, all of the veg in particular, service was poor, staff standing around chatting, stuck with dirty plates on our table which we had to move ourselves and long waits at the bar even though only 1 or 2 people waiting. Won't be coming back.

User

Would give it a 0 if I could.

Would never ever come again.

Between the 4 of us who ate we had carvery and vegan pizza. The vegan pizza was a pathetic excuse for food. The carvery meat was dry and horrible, poorest selection of veg I've ever seen. The roast potatoes were so dry they were hollow. Everything was so bland. No flavour to anything but the drinks!

No side plate given with the pizza even though menu states help yourself to chips and salad. If you can call it salad.

Rude bar staff.

The only good thing is that it looks clean and the waitress's are lovely and friendly.

Such a waste of £40! Wish we had gone to McDonald's instead!

User

Worst experience I've ever had! Invest in a microwave at least that way you can pretend to customers the food is warm, assuming you actually let them know it's ready!!!

Make sure your get your food quick as my partner had to request a new meal after someone was poking at her food when she went to collect it and took it (yes it was hers) No receipts given on purchase. No customer care what so ever.

People avoid this place unless you enjoy a terrible experience and wasting your money!

User

Went at 6.45 last night tried to order fish they didnt have any. Decided to have a carvery. Omg I have never seen anything like it. The beef and gammon that was left was about the size of a chop and the turkey that was left was dry and had certainly been there for hours. I won't even move on to the veg! Complained to the chef who said no more meat to come out. Asked the manager for a refund which we got. About 45 minutes later we was hungry so decided to order a pizza, to be told there had been a fire in the kitchen! Then to top it off half hour later a big fight went off in the pub and it got closed down for the night. I have to say I will not be returning here and by no means would I ever recommend anyone to go there. After what I witnessed last night I really think you need to consider getting bouncers.

User

We came here and it was terrible the food was all dry there wasn’t any dough for pizzas or cheese for the burger and there wasn’t chips either we got half the meal it’s gone down hill and don’t think I will be going there again

My wife and I, took my 93 year old parents last Friday to this place. How it has changed, the person serving behind the bar with the beard and glasses was clueless and when he went to change a barrel, asbo boy served us. What a rude and ignorant person he was. We got our drinks, put them on the table we were going to eat at, then proceeded to the carvery, or should I say what they pass as a carvery. The meats were bone dry coz they had been under the heat lamp for hours. We asked the carver to change the meat, which he said he would in 5 mins. We went back 5 mins later and true to his word, the meats were changed and so was the carver who gave us the old dry meat and said that's what you are getting. The vegetables were OK except for the roast spuds, they were rock hard to, we asked the carver to change them and he said no. To cap it all, when we had put this pigswill on our plates, there was no gravy. We knocked on the kitchen door but wouldn't answer it. Never will our families or friends be eating her again. Rubbish

User

Just left here... Had to wait 10 minutes as all the veg had gone cold. When we did get around to getting our food we was stood around for 5 minutes for the chef to come out from the kitchen. When he did eventually come out he carved myself and my gf the smallest fattiest piece of gammon I've ever seen, potatoes under-cooked and dry and the stuffing was chewy. All in all not a very pleasant dining experience and can honestly say I won't be coming back here in a hurry and certainly wouldn't recommend it either.

User

Just back from a Boxing Day family meal. Which consisted of 10 adults and 4 children. We had booked our table for 3:00pm and was seated on time. We was served out starters after 40 minutes of being seated which I thought was a bit long. We then had to wait for the table to be cleaned to which we got sick of waiting and decided to clean ourselves and take the plates to the bar ourselves.

We then went for our carvery - no pork or gammon crusty dry turkey and the beef didn’t look much better either! Asked about if they had any more meat and we had to wait 20 mins for it to finish in the oven! Veg all looked nice and noticed chefs replenishing this regularly while waiting.

When the first half of our group had got their carvery there wasn’t any cutlery which they was told they was all being washed and had to wait.

The deserts were nice and well presented apart from the ice cream which was 3 scoops of ice cream on a saucer!

Really sad to say we wont ever be returning! I think with the right management who know what there doing and more staff this place could be a gold mine! 2 staff on the whole floor - no wonder service was shockingly slow! There over worked and looked exhausted and rightly so!

You can clearly see that the chefs and waitresses want to do well and make there customers feel welcome and happy with their experience! But how can they do there job properly with no support of management on the floor and shocking low staff levels (maybe worth looking into this?!)

I wouldn't give it any stars if I had the choose.

Message to Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery…

24/02/2017

Me:

"I am currently in your establishment & have to say it is a shambles, no one seems to know what is going on.

Asked the chiefs about gluten free stumped them. Girl at the bar was more helpful though.

Food, meat ok the rest has been left under the heat lights to long or is cook poorly as it's dried up.

Went to find the ice cream only to find nearly everyone was again stumped. Found on lady behind the bar who managed to find us a bowl then disappeared to find a spoon,

I think I can safely say we will not be coming back & have heard it said by a few other diners today."

Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery:

"Thanks for getting in touch, a member of the team will be in touch soon."

22/04/2017

Me:

"Well it's been a month now so I'll assume no one is bothered & TBF others I've spoken to have had poor experiences here to."

My mistake it's been two months sorry.

Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery:

"Thanks for getting in touch, a member of the team will be in touch soon."

"Thank you for your comments Jason, rest assured these have been looked into by the General manager and measures have been put in place to stop this happening again. We are sorry that you had a poor experience but hope you will give us another chance in the future"

Call me cynical but they did even take time to go & check, unless by coincidence they just happened to know all about it as the reply was almost instant today.

Came here for my Birthday Breakfast and I will never come again.

For starters when we ordered we were not told there was no hash browns and u r expected to pay an extra 89p if u want mushrooms(No offer of this as replacement for hash browns as the food choice is scarce as it is)

We went to get our breakfast and there were no plates. We asked the lady who took our order and she said they should be there and she said she would get someone to get them. We waited for this someone for about 10 minutes and then the chef bought fresh fried eggs out and we asked him and his response was "didn't she get them for you?" then he got them straight away.

The food itself was mediocre and there isn't much choice and who has chips for breakfast?

Very disappointed will go to Toby Carvery in future

User

Came for a carvery and they only had one option of meat left which was dry. Asked for a refund and was given the option of having something from the menu. The burger came out cold and could taste the cheap meat and the bacon was a strip of just fat.

User

Appalling.

Went to watch the football and have dinner. Paid over £7 for a chicken Caesar salad but they had no 'caesar' 😂😂😂 Was asked if I'd have the chicken salad and put on my own dressing and salad from the salad bar, which I was happy to do (chicken salad is £2 cheaper but this wasn't refunded!!) my grandson and I had finished a good 15 minutes before my daughter's food arrived... And this was only after asking where it was- she ordered a small selection of starters, which took over half an hour to arrive. This is probably why the potato skins were just a large pile of moist, over -greasy mush... They'd been in the fryer for half an hour 🤔🤔

Grandson ordered a waffle which, again, took around 30 minutes to arrive and again, only after asking where it was. They did refund my daughter for the potato skins after she asked for it but did not like receiving the complaint. I used to use this place a lot and can honestly say I won't be ordering food again- unless you're having a carvery - don't bother eating here... and the carvery is pot-luck lately too: it's gone so downhill; staff don't crack a smile ((except for the one lady ) not the most welcoming of places anymore ... Think I'll have to find somewhere else to watch the footie... Or just stay home with wine and pizza!!!

Oh, forgot to say ... Twice in the last two weeks we have reserved a table only to find nothing has been reserved - even though Vicky told my daughter it was !!!

User

Absolutely vile here tonight. Got a refund due to waiting 20 minutes for meat after being told 5 minutes the meat came out not even looking cooked and they still had the same veg that was there an hour before!! Asked for fresh she said wasn’t any only thing fresh they brought after another 10 minutes of waiting was gravy. I couldn’t even eat my meal it was vile. Have pictures of how the food was when it came out and already out! The stuffing was like a bouncy ball will never visit again!!

User

Absolutely shocking place, have to keep getting up to see if food is ready. Carvery was cold also found black hard ball in mash told it was a potato eye. Had to get money back for 1 carvery as Yorkshire pudding not ready and my partner nearly finished her cold carvery and kids had already finished , child's pizza not even cut . For what they charge go to Toby carvery
